Abstract

In high-risk industrial sectors such as mining and energy. The high number of work accidents in Indonesia, which are mostly caused by unsafe acts, requires a strategic approach that is not only technical, but also touches on the dimensions of human behavior. One approach that has proven effective is Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), an occupational safety approach that focuses on systematic behavior modification. This study aims to identify the application of BBS principles at PT. EPTX, a company engaged in the provision of products and services for the oil and gas industry. The method used is in-depth interviews with management to explore commitment, communication, employee involvement, and implementation of a behavior-based K3 system. The results of the study show that the company has implemented a number of key elements in BBS, such as the implementation of weekly safety talks, provision of PPE, internal mobilization, and a tiered warning system for safety violations. In general, the BBS approach has contributed to the formation of safety awareness and employee participation in creating a safe and sustainable work culture.

Abstract

In an effort to create a safe and productive work environment, the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) approach has become one of the main strategies in occupational safety management, especially in high-risk industries such as logistics. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) method in shaping the safe behavior of workers at PT XYZ, a logistics company in Balikpapan. The BBS method is an occupational safety approach that focuses on individual behavior in preventing work accidents. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through direct observation and interviews with management and workers. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of BBS at PT XYZ has not been running optimally. Some of the main obstacles found include the lack of standard operating procedures (SOPs), lack of occupational safety training, weak communication between management and workers, and minimal involvement of workers in a safety culture. Although there is a commitment from management, improvements are still needed in the aspects of socializing safety policies, providing written documents, and ongoing training to build a safe and sustainable work culture.

Abstract

Optimization of participation in the quality family program and the digitalization of the Merah Putih cooperative in Tiohu Village is the main focus of this community service, based on the challenge of low public participation due to limited access to information and the still manual recording process. This study aims to develop a web-based information system to support the quality family program while also digitizing the cooperative, in order to sustainably increase community involvement in the village’s social and economic services. The methodology applied includes needs identification, system design and development using the PHP programming language and MySQL database, followed by socialization, participatory training, and monitoring and evaluation. The results show that the implemented digital system has succeeded in accelerating access to information, strengthening the service functions of the quality family program, and encouraging the cooperative’s economic independence. Implicitly, this activity contributes to the development of a digital technology-based empowerment model that is adaptive to the local context, while also providing a tangible impact in improving management efficiency and community participation

Abstract

Workplace accidents are often caused by unsafe behavior exhibited by workers. Traditional approaches such as safety training and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) alone are not sufficient to sustainably change worker behavior. Therefore, the implementation of Behavior Based Safety (BBS) has become an increasingly relevant solution to reduce accident risks by focusing on behavior modification through observation, feedback, and active worker participation. Studies have shown that BBS can reduce workplace accidents by up to 50% through systematic approaches such as positive reinforcement and the development of a safety culture. Its success depends on management commitment, worker engagement, and an appropriate reward system. The implementation of BBS not only improves safety but also enhances operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze the urgency of applying BBS in reducing unsafe behavior in the workplace, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing its effectiveness. The results indicate that the success of BBS depends on strong leadership, open communication, and a well-designed reward system.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OSH) is a crucial aspect in the manufacturing industry due to the high potential hazards that can occur during the production process. This study aims to identify potential hazards, assess risk levels, and design control measures using the HIRADC method (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control Determination) in the production process at PT XYZ. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including direct observation and interviews with management and workers. The analysis results indicate five main hazard priorities, namely physical hazards (noise, heat, and harmful particles), chemical hazards (exposure to toxic substances from welding and painting processes), mechanical hazards (heavy machinery and cutting tools), ergonomic hazards (non-ergonomic work postures and manual lifting), and electrical hazards (non-standard installations and risk of electric shock). Each of these hazards is controlled through the implementation of SOPs, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety training, as well as improvements in facilities and work layout. The application of the HIRADC method has proven effective in mapping risks and formulating control strategies to create a safe and productive work environment.

Abstract

Poverty remains a major issue faced by developing countries, including Indonesia. To address this problem, the government launched the Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) as a conditional social assistance initiative targeted at low-income families. This study aims to analyze the influence of PKH on reducing poverty levels in Pendem Village, Karanganyar Regency. The research employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. A total of 147 respondents were selected using a simple random sampling technique. The analysis results show that PKH has a positive and significant effect on poverty reduction, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and an R Square value of 0.354, indicating that the PKH variable explains 35.4% of the variation in poverty reduction. These findings suggest that PKH makes a real contribution to meeting basic needs, reducing economic burdens, and improving the welfare of poor communities. However, the effectiveness of PKH does not stand alone, as other factors such as education, employment opportunities, and access to basic services also influence poverty. Therefore, integration of PKH with other community empowerment programs is needed to ensure more sustainable impacts. The analytical technique used in this study is simple linear regression

Abstract

This community service and research aims to increase public understanding of mental health, especially anxiety disorders. The material provided by the lecturers of the Islamic Counseling Guidance study program at STAI YPIQ Baubau is very useful for providing enlightenment on what the community has felt so far, who previously may not have understood their physical and mental condition. The activities carried out for two days which took place in the hall of the village office had a very positive impact on the community. The community was very happy with the counseling, education and training because programs like this are rarely held due to the lack of counseling practitioners in the Pesisir Baubau area. The target of this program is given to the entire community, both parents, adults and children. Seven students from the Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program also participated in this activity. In addition to being able to help the smooth running of this activity, they also gained a lot of knowledge from the activities carried out.
