Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that is still a public health challenge in various regions of Indonesia, including Lewopao Village, Ile Boleng District. This community service activity aims to educate the public about the importance of balanced nutrition and efforts to prevent stunting through nutritious local food innovations. One of the innovations introduced is "Mie Aylor" (short for Mie Ayam Lokal Organik), which is made from nutritious local ingredients such as moringa leaves, purple sweet potatoes, and mocaf flour. The activity methods include socialization, demonstrations of making noodles, and distribution of samples to the target community, especially pregnant women and mothers of toddlers. The results of the activity showed that the community was very enthusiastic about this product and understood the importance of nutrition in preventing stunting. This activity is expected to trigger public awareness in utilizing the potential of local food to support optimal child growth and development.

Abstract

Speaking is one of the important skills in learning English. The success of learning English is also measured by speaking ability. However, this skill is still considered difficult to learn by students. The problem that is often faced in learning English is that students' ability to speak English is still low. This is caused by limited vocabulary and lack of understanding of the structure of the English language. Moreover, students who live in villages are still far from enthusiastic in learning English. To overcome this problem, lecturers conducted community service, especially at the MAS Key Lebu school with the topic of service, namely "Basic English Speaking". This speaking skill learning is carried out using games, pictures and explanations. This service aims to 1) improve students' ability to speak English through games and pictures, 2) change students' mindsets about the importance of learning speaking skills in English, and 3) increase students' confidence in learning a foreign language without having to be ashamed of making mistakes. The results of this activity showed an increase in active student participation, increased vocabulary, and students' courage in expressing opinions using English. It is hoped that this activity can be an initial stimulus in building a culture of English communication in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

The formulation of Strategic Plans (Renstra) aligned with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) is a crucial component in regional development planning systems. However, many local government agencies face institutional and technical challenges in producing high-quality, integrated Renstra documents. This community engagement program aimed to assist local government agencies in Merauke Regency in developing Renstra documents aligned with the 2025–2029 RPJMD using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The activity was conducted in four groups representing basic service, administrative, technical, and regional management functions. The PAR method was applied to foster active involvement of government staff in identifying strategic issues, setting goals and targets, formulating performance indicators, and determining priority programs. The results showed that the participatory approach effectively improved technical understanding and promoted awareness of result-based planning. Despite challenges such as limited human resources and sectoral data, most agencies successfully developed more structured and responsive Renstra documents. The process also promoted a collaborative dialogue culture between academia and bureaucracy. This program concludes that PAR can serve as an effective model for improving the quality of strategic planning documents and strengthening institutional capacity in regional governments. Recommendations include the need for sustainable capacity-building programs, the formation of internal facilitator teams, and stronger integration between planning and budgeting systems

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) are institutions managed by village communities that operate in the field of village economic resources, with the aim of maximizing village assets. BUMDes can directly foster business opportunities, create employment, and increase village income. Villages can become self-reliant and capable of alleviating poverty by improving community welfare—provided that BUMDes are managed properly, effectively, and efficiently. However, there is still a low level of knowledge regarding the management of business organizations developed by BUMDes. Due to this condition, BUMDes have not yet functioned optimally as a source of economic growth for the organization itself, let alone for the wider community. Providing management training and developing professional human resources to manage BUMDes effectively is essential. This includes the management of BUMDes administrative governance, understanding relevant regulations and legal frameworks, and improving the economy and welfare through the buying and selling of local products, especially those produced by village rice farmers.

Abstract

The development of Islamic culture in local communities is an important foundation in the formation of a moral, productive and progressive community character. This research reports a community service program through the establishment of Al-Quran Village in Muhammadiyah Sumbersari Branch, Ciparay District, Bandung Regency. This program aims to build Al-Quran learning infrastructure, increase understanding and practice of Islamic values, and produce Quranic cadres who are active in da'wah. Implementation methods include coaching, cadre training, and routine halaqah activities. The results show an increase in community participation, the formation of a solid Quranic community, and an increase in religious understanding. The novelty of the program lies in the integration of education, da'wah, and community-based empowerment with the use of digital technology for sustainability.

Abstract

The proficiency of Indonesian students in mathematics and science remains relatively low, as reflected in the 2022 PISA survey, which ranked Indonesia 69th out of 81 participating countries. This low level of mathematical and scientific literacy has become a major concern in efforts to improve the quality of education. This community service activity aims to foster interest and motivation among senior high school students (SMA/SMK/MA or equivalent) in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology through the organization of the Del Mathematics and Science Competition (DMSC) in 2024. The competition was conducted in two stages: an online preliminary round on November 2, 2024, and an on-site final round on November 9, 2024, at Institut Teknologi Del, coinciding with World Scientiest Day. The implementation method included competition promotion, online participant selection, and in-person contest execution with an objective scoring system. The findings indicated high enthusiasm among participants from various regions of Indonesia, along with improved understanding and confidence in solving concept-based problems. The implications of this activity suggest that science-based competitions can serve as effective platforms to raise public awareness of the importance of mastering science and support national efforts to enhance the quality of education in mathematics and science

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out as a response to the needs of teachers at MTs Al Muhajirin Ambon in enhancing their ability to utilize technology-based learning media, particularly laptops and mobile phones. In this digital era, mastery of digital learning devices and applications has become very important for creating an engaging, interactive, and relevant learning process for today's students. However, initial observations indicate that most teachers still face challenges in using technology due to limitations in training and support. Therefore, this activity is designed in the form of an integrated training program that includes the introduction, practice, and evaluation of various digital learning media and applications such as PowerPoint, Capcut, Canva, and smartphone-based and laptop applications. The training was conducted participatively through interactive lectures, demonstrations of tools and applications, hands-on practice, discussions and Q&A, as well as evaluation and reflection. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding and skills, as well as a growing motivation to integrate technology into learning. This activity is expected to be the beginning of digital transformation in the madrasah environment and to support the improvement of education quality in the wider Ambon area.

Abstract

The HKBP Palmarum Church faces significant challenges in its administration and financial management, which have been conducted manually. This approach exposes the system to risks of data loss, delays in information updates, and a lack of transparency in financial reporting. This community service project aims to develop a web-based management information system to address these issues. The methodology employed is the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a prototyping approach. The outcome of the project includes a system capable of managing congregation data, finances, and service information digitally. With the implementation of this system, church services are expected to become more efficient, transparent, and serve as a model for other churches.

Abstract

UI design training using the FIGMA platform implemented at SMKN 2 Singosari is a community service activity carried out by a team of lecturers and students of Informatics Engineering S1 and Industrial Engineering S1 at ITN Malang. Students of the RPL expertise program class XI SMKN 2 Singosari have gained an understanding and expertise in UI design from the results of the training activities. The mastery and understanding of the training material by students is shown from the questionnaire score, which averages 5 on a scale of 5 for understanding the material and a value of 4.2 for teaching satisfaction during the training. As many as 80% of students also expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the teaching team in delivering the material and their patience in overseeing the UI design practice material. The results shown show that the FIGMA community service program entering schools has succeeded in supporting innovative learning that supports the skills of the current digital generation in the vocational high school education environment.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia are major global health challenges that contribute to high morbidity and mortality rates. Unhealthy lifestyles, including poor diet, lack of physical activity, and high-stress levels, are key risk factors for NCDs. Early detection through regular screening is essential to prevent complications and improve public health. This community service program aimed to conduct health screenings by measuring blood pressure, blood glucose levels, and cholesterol levels among adults of productive age in West Jakarta. The program also included health education sessions to raise awareness about NCD risk factors and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Participants underwent blood pressure measurements, random blood glucose tests, and total cholesterol assessments, followed by health counseling and lifestyle modification recommendations. The results emphasized the need for routine health monitoring and preventive interventions to reduce the burden of NCDs in the community.
