Abstract

The progress of information and communication technology influencethe increase of the usage of social network. Social network users are mostly inadult group. The existence of social networks can bring positive impact as well as negative impact to the society especially in adult group. The aim of this research is to find out the difference in communication intensity through social networks between extrovert and introvert types of personality in adolescents. This research is a quantitative research with comparative method, the sampling technique used in this research is stratified proporsional randomsampling and the population is High School students in Denpasar, with the total respondents 218 student. The analysis data by t-test independent sample, and shown the result that there was a difference in the communication intensity through social network between introvert and extrovert type of personality in adolescents, the extrovert personality had a high level of communication better than introvert personality. The additional analysis, it is stated that there was a relationship between the number of social networks and the intensity of communication on social networks, and there was no difference in the intensity of communication based on gender. Abstract

During the pregnancy, a mother has experienced a significant changes to the physiological function and their psychological that causing an anxiety. Pregnant women who experience excessive anxiety during pregnancy until the delivery would cause pain during childbirth and this must be addressed, namely pregnant women should have the peace that the birth process to be smooth. Many natural ways that can be used to help reduce maternal anxiety, one way is to follow the hypnobirthing techniques. There are a lot of natural ways that can be used to help them decreased their anxiety. One thing that can be done is following the hypnobirthing technique. The aim of this research is to observed the relationship of hypnobirthing participation intensity with the anxiety levels of pregnant woman. The subject of this research were 20 pregnant women who take the hypnobirthing techniques with a gestational age around 7-9 months in Gianyar. The sample were selected using total sampling method. The anxious scale of the subjects were pointing to the aspects that stated by Daradjat. The intensity of participation in hypnobirthing is accounted by present list. The method of analyzing data in this research was by using the spearman non-parametric analysis. This research uses unused and try out the validity of the results obtained from 0,270 to 0.738, while the value of reliability for (a = 0.908). The result of the test analysis data is, there was a significant nominal for p=0,001 (p<0,05) with coefficient correlation value it is -689. That coefficient correlation has indicated that there was a negative relation between the anxious variable, to the participation of hypnobirthing intensity. Therefore, the hypothesis (Ha) in this research was acceptable. That is, if the intensity of the routine participation hypnobirthing the anxiety level will decrease. Support of the role of fathers and families in the process of hypnobirthing is highly recommended for pregnant women in order to obtain better results. Abstract

Year by year, the amount of elderly who lives at nursing home in Bali are increasingly. Most of them be carried to nursing home by their families with a reason that they are not able to take care of their elderly at home. It makes that there is a lot of elderly think negatively about the decision to put them at nursing home. Negative thinking makes them have a low self esteem. According to it, this study aiming to see the relationship positive thinking and self esteem to the elderly. This study is a correlational study between 84 elders who lives at nursing home in Bali as a subject. Method of data collection in this study is using questionnaires. The variable of positive thinking is measured positive thinking questionnaire, and the variable of self esteem is measured by self esteem questionnaire. Both of them are already valid and reliable. Positive thinking questionnaire consist of 22 items which validity range from 0,259 to 0,935 and the coefficient reliability is 0,944. Self esteem questionnaire consist of 23 items which validity range from 0,282 to 0,938 and the coefficient reliability is 0,959. The result of nonparametric Kendall’s Tau show that there is a significant relationship between positive thinking and self esteem (r=0,422 ; p=0,000). It that can be concluded that variable of positive thinking can explain the variable of self esteem in 17,8%. It can explain that the hypothesis which stating that there is a relationship between positive thinking and self esteem to the elderly who lives at nursing home in Bali can be accepted. The other things that can explain about the relationship between positive thinking and self esteem are because the elderly able to; (1)accept themselves and their condition, (2) adapt with their environment, (3) see themselves positively, (4) show their power, (5) show their competence. Abstract

National examination is a standard passing score that has been set by the government to meet national educational competencies. Students who implant the positive values to healthy lifestyle in their daily lives, it will be able to manage themselves with appropriate coping strategies to get out of stressful situations that push. Quantitative research with regression analysis method aimed to see the relationship between healthy lifestyle with stress level of twelfth grade students of high school in Denpasar towards final examination based on stress coping strategy, like problem focused coping and emotion focused coping. Sampling technique uses cluster random sampling with 317 subjects of twelfth grade students in Denpasar. Measuring instrument in this study is the healthy lifestyle scale (reliability 0.846), stress level scale (reliability 0.913), and stress coping strategies scale (reliability 0.868). Z-score test and regression analysis were used to divide into groups with 143 subjects coping strategies in problem focused coping (p<0.05) with a regression equation Y=75.018-0.556X while on emotion focused coping were 112 subjects (p<0.05) the regression equation Y=88.748-.440X, then there is a relationship between a healthy lifestyle in problem focused coping strategies group and emotion focused coping with stress levels at high school students especially for twelfth grade before the National examination. Score of R correlation on group problem focused coping is 0.876 and the group emotion focused coping is 0.844. Then the relationship between a healthy lifestyle and stress levels in group problem focused coping strategies and emotion focused coping belong to strongest relationship between the two groups (problem and emotion focused coping). Uses problem focused coping more efecctive than emotion focused coping to see the relationship between healthy lifestyle with stress level of twelfth grade students of high school in Denpasar towards final examination. Abstract

Nowdays, more teenagers have a tendency of experiencing emotional difficulties that needed a way to overcome them, such as by developing the adolescent's emotional intelligence. The development of adolescent's emotional intelligence can be done through music, one of them with the traditional Indonesian gamelan music of Bali. Exercise at Balinese gamelan is played by a group of individuals together with the rules or certain grip. At the time of practicing gamelan, besides having a duty to beat his own gamelan instrument, the individual must also consider the gamelan instruments played by colleagues in the ensemble, so can produce a harmonious sound of gamelan (Donder, 2005). This study aims to determine the relationship between exercise intensity Balinese gamelan music and emotional intelligence. This study uses quantitative correlation with the number of subjects 135 students of ISI Denpasar. The sampling method used purposive sampling and data collection tool using Exercise Intensity Scale Gamelan Music of Bali (r = 0.848) and Emotional Intelligence Scale (r = 0.772). Methods of data analysis using Product-Moment correlation, which then obtained yield was 0,550. The results showed a positive relationship between exercise intensity of Balinese gamelan music and emotional intelligence are the higher intensity of exercise at Balinese gamelan music, the higher the emotional intelligence will be. Intensity exercise Balinese gamelan music's variable can contribute 30,25% to the variables of emotional intelligence, while 69.75% was influenced by other factors than the variable of intensity exercise Balinese gamelan music. Other factors beyond the intensity exercise Balinese gamelan music's variable by Goleman (1997) is a family environment, environmental non-family, physical, and psychological. Abstract

This study aims to determine the emotion influence towards use of the dominant color on early childhood coloring activities and also see the influence of positive and negative emotions toward the dominant color that used. Emotions are a condition that involves physiological, psychological, and feelings to act, because of the stimulus received by the senses, will be response, and processed. Emotions can be divided into positive emotions consist of happiness, excitement, also surprise and negative emotions consist of anger, sadness, fear, and disgust. Colors can manifest emotions that felt by someone. Bright color associated with positive emotions, and the dark color associated with negative emotions. Dominant color is color that most widely used in one image area. To count the area of the color is using grid technique or square method. This study use quasi experimental design with treatment by subject. The sampling was 30 students from Tunas Mekar Sari Kindergarten that taken by purposive sampling technique. The data analysis methods are using Crosstabs function, Chi-Square Test, and Coefficient Contingency C. Data analysis and study result find there are three hypotheses received, those are the strong emotion influence towards use of the dominant color on early childhood coloring activities, the strong positive emotion influence towards use of the bright dominant color, also the very strong negative emotion influence towards use of the dark dominant color. Abstract

Parenting style are all forms of interaction process between parent and child that will give effect to the personality development of children. The growth of self-efficacy in adolescents is evolve regularly. Beginning of the growth of self-efficacy focused on the elderly, then influenced by siblings, peers, and other adults. In this case the parents and family members have an important role in the formation of adolescent self-efficacy. Patterns of parenting and good interaction with family members is a contributing factor to form a positive self-efficacy in adolescents. Different dynamics of parenting style will also form a different self efficacy in adolescents. The aim of this research is to investigate the difference of self-efficacy based on parenting style of middle adolescents in Denpasar. This research is quantitative comparison. The subjects were middle adolescents in Denpasar as many as 380 people to the criteria of Grade X and XI Senior High School in Denpasar. The sample were selected using Area Probability Random Sampling Method. Method of data collection using the Parenting Scale has tested its validity, the reliability of 0.952 as well as Self-Efficacy Scale also has reliability 0.962. Distribution of the data obtained indicates normal data and homogeneous. Statistical analysis methods with techniques of comparative One Way Anova. Results obtained F = 22.275, p = 0.000 and analysis of Post Hoc get results indicate that the authoritative parenting has a significance of 0.000 Authoritarian, authoritative parenting with 0,000 Permissive, Authoritarian parenting Permissive amounted to 0.163. It means that the difference in self-efficacy based on the type of authoritative parenting with authoritarian, self-efficacy differences with Permissive parenting authoritative, and there is no difference in self-efficacy on the Authoritarian Permissive parenting adolescents in the middle of Denpasar. Abstract

In adolescence, there are several developmental tasks that must be faced, one of which is the development of autonomy. Role of parents can’t be separated on the formation of adolescent autonomy because of an emotional connection between parents and adolescence. Emotional connection that persists for long periods is called attachment. This study aimed to determine the relationship between parent-adolescent attachment with adolescent autonomy in SMKN 1 Denpasar. The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling. Subjects of this research are 330 students in SMKN 1 Denpasar, from age 15-18 years old. Researcher deploy two scales, the parent-adolescent attachment scale adapted from the Inventory Parent and Peer Attachment (Armsden & Greenberg, 1987) and autonomy scale is based on aspects that proposed by Steinberg (2009). The data obtained in this study were analyzed by simple regression analysis to examine the relationship between parent-adolescent attachment and autonomy. Regression analysis results t value 3,652 and P = 0.000 (P < 0.05). It means attachment to parents and adolescent autonomy are significantly and positively correlated, when parent-adolescent’s attachment is high they will have a high score on autonomy too. Coefficient of determination equal to 0.039 indicates the attachment contribution to the autonomy is 3,9%, and 96,1% was contributed by other factors such as gender, birth order, school activities and community activities. Abstract

Adolescence’s life especially the early one cannot be separated from upcoming problems because their physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional changes are significantly affecting their self-controlling and mindset to their surrounding environment. Both of emotion and self-confidence are playing an important role on facing the problems especially on adolescent adjustment. The purposes of this research are to understand the relationship between emotional intelligence and self efficacy in problem solving of adjustment early adolescence and to understand effective contribution of emotional intelligence and self efficacy to problem solving of adjustment early adolescence. The subjects in this research were 129 students of high school in Denpasar especially students in grade 10, who were chosen by simple random sampling. This research used three scales as measurement tools, namely emotional intelligence scale, self efficacy scale, and adjustment scale. Emotional intelligence scale has a reliability value = 0,822, consist of 20 items; self efficacy scale has a reliability value = 0,913, consist of 34 items; and adjustment scale has a reliability value = 0,896, consist of 31 items. According to the result of multiple regression analysis, the value of R correlation = 0,772, F regression = 93,211, p = 0,000, there was relationship between emotional intelligence and self efficacy in problem solving of adjustment early adolescence. The effective contribution of emotional intelligence and self efficacy to adjustment are 59,70%. The result of each correlation emotional intelligence and self efficacy to problem solving of adjustment early adolescence is 0,632 and 0,715; p = 0,000, there was a positive and strength relationship between emotional intelligence and self efficacy in problem solving of adjustment early adolescence. Abstract

Problems arise where elementary school student’s anxiety increased with the grade level when faced with the evaluation or examination. The problems were most often experienced by students when they will face the exam is a matter of anxiety. Lack of preparation when facing national exam can be overcome by increasing students studying motivation .This study aimed to determine the relationship between studying motivation and anxiety at sixth grade student’s elementary schools in Denpasar ahead national exam . This research is a quantitative correlation research. The subjects were 100 sixth grade elementary school students in Denpasar. Method of sample collection is by cluster random sampling method. Methods of data collection are Studying Motivation Scale which its reliability is 0.804 and Anxiety Scale which its reliability is 0.908. Normality of studying motivation variable is 0.148 and anxiety variable is 0.671. Linearity of variable studying motivation and anxiety variable is 0.002. Data analysis method is Pearson product moment correlation technique. The results show that there is a significant negative relationship between studying motivation and anxiety at Sixth Grade Students Elementary School in Denpasar Ahead of National Exam which its coefficient correlation is -0.303 with its probability value is 0.001.
