Abstract

In recent years, cases about juvenile deliquency in Indonesia has increased with the most cases are sexual harassment, drugs, murdering, and stealing (Hasinta, 2010). According to Indonesian regulation nomor 12 tahun 1995, if a juvenile deliquency case has been done by an 18 year old adolescent or less and it has been proved by the court, the adolescent will be called anak pidana and they will be educated in a prison for adolescent but more like education centre, such as in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem, Bali. Living in a lembaga pemasyarakatan will be much different from common life outside, such as experiencing the loss of freedom (Dewi, 2012). In surviving to this situation, adolescent needs to know the meaning of their life and this issue attracts the researcher to find out what is the meaning of life of anak pidana who lives in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem. This study use qualitative method with phenomenological approach, with 6 anak pidana as the subject. The result shows that there are 6 aspect of the meaning of life of anak pidana who lives in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem, which are the most valuable thing in life, satisfaction in life, freedom, right to live, personal change, and life-acceptance in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Anak Kelas II B Karangasem. Abstract

The increasing sales of cosmetics beauty products make the product marketing technique expanding and many sales promotion girl are employed to be important part in promoting women beauty product. Attractive physical appearance in sales promotion girls will draw consumer attention to them. Physical appearance itself correlates with body image in sales promotion girls. According Konstanski (2007) body image will be affected to self confidence. Self confidence makes a person develop self-evaluation. The self-evaluation will shape perceptions of productivity. According to that, researcher wants to find relationship between body image and perception of productivity in sales promotion girls of beauty product in Denpasar City. Method in this research is correlational study. Subjects in this research are 110 sales promotion girls in Denpasar City. Data are collected by body image scale and perception of productivity scale. Test of item validity in body image scale shows there are 27 invalid items and 23 valid items from 50 items, and its reliability coefficient is 0,829. Test of item validity in perception of productivity scale shows there are 2 invalid items and 23 valid items from 25 items, and its reliability coefficient is 0,838. Data analysis shows data are normal and linear. Pearson’s product moment is run for data analysis. Coefficient of correlation between body image and productivity is 0,49 in significance level 0,05. It means that hypothesis in this research that states there is relationship between body image and perception of productivity in sales promotion girls of beauty product in Denpasar City is accepted. Abstract

Indonesia placed the 4th rank in the highest number of smokers in the world which consisted of not only adults but also adolescents. There are several things that influence adolescent smoking behavior, namely parenting style, peers, personality factors, and also advertisements. Parenting style which will be investigated in this research has three forms namely democratic, authoritarian, and permissive. Permissive parenting style is one form of parenting style which is presumably associated with smoking behavior. Permissive parenting style has characteristics as no child guiding, agreeing child's behavior, and do not use punishment, thus making the child feels brave in doing maladaptive behaviors such as smoking. Since the prevalence of smoking behavior among men is bigger, the researcher wanted to see whether there is a relationship between permissive parenting style of mother and smoking behavior of male adolescents in SMA Negeri 1 Semarapura. Subjects in this research are 75 male students in SMA Negeri 1 Semarapura. Research method uses correlational study. Data are collected with questionnaires. Permissive parenting style of mother questionnaire has 16 valid items and its reliability coefficient is 0,916 which means the questionnaire is reliable since its reliability coefficient is higher than minimum standard 0,600. Smoking behavior questionnaire has 20 valid items and its reliability coefficient is 0,906 which means the questionnaire is reliable since its reliability coefficient is higher than minimum standard 0,600. Result of assumption test shows data are normal and linear. Linearity test between permissive parenting style of mother and smoking behavior has significance level 0,000 which means linear since its significance level is lower than 0,05. Result of this research finds positive significant relationship between permissive parenting style of mother and smoking behavior and its correlational coefficient is 0,493. The value of coefficient of determination is 0,243 which shows permissive parenting style of mother has 24,3% contribution to smoking behavior. Abstract

The people who were infected by HIV would be very susceptible from illness, cause by the damage of the immune system. In the daily life, those people must be able to cope complex problems. Not only coping the physiological problems, but also coping the stigma and discrimination which can increase the psychological problems of people with HIV and AIDS. These complex problems will affect to the decrease of quality of life. One of the factor which has important role in quality of life is social support. Based on the background above, this research is aimed to determine the correlation between social support and quality of life on people with HIV and AIDS at Spirit Paramacitta Foundation. This research was a quantitatif research with correlation method. The sample of this research were 76 people which were choosed by cluster sampling technique. Two kind of scales, there were social support scale and quality of life scale were used to gathered the data. The data were analyzed by correlation product moment with SPSS version 17.0. The research finding showed that the value of correlation coefficient (r) was 0,666 with the significance (p) 0,000. It meant that there was a positif correlation between social support and quality of life on people with HIV and AIDS at Spirit Paramacitta Foundation. Abstract

Homosexual is an interest in feeling or in erotic, both are in predominant or exclusiveness against individuals who has a similarity in sexes violent or without involves interaction physical, while gay is term to mention man who likes fellow man as partners sexual, and have interest both in feeling or erotic, both in dominant and exclusive and also with or without any relation physical (Putri, 2013) Faithfulness is a form of behaviors that performed recurrently that will eventually become a permanent nature. Directed toward your faithfulness also means that individual in relationship was able to rely to keep commitments together, which has agreed by Cloud&Townsand (in Sari, 2008). The aim of this research is to find out the dynamics of faithfulness to gay. This research using qualitative methods by case study approach to describe the dynamics of faithfulness in gay relationship. To collecting data in this research used interview technique and used 4 subject. This research used thematic coding for analyzing data. The result of this study suggest that in a world of a gay, most individuals within it are the people who run the principle of free life, where they hang out and behaving freely without any rules that tie it. Generally the respondents in this study say that faithfulness is crucial and absolutely there are in relationship but not all gay capable of running commitment to remain faithful. Abstract

Subak is a traditional organization of irrigation that have been known as one of the world heritages. However, it recognition should be done with the way to accomplish real problems that happened in itself, which supposed to have particular concerns. One thing that could be done is increasing the sense of community among subak's committee so that they will have job motivation to run subak. Based on that fact, the aim of this study is to know the relationship between sense of community with job motivation among subak's committee. Methods used in this study was quantitative research methods with product-moment correlation to do data analysis. The subjects were choosen with cluster sampling technique for the total number of 58 subjects. The measurements used were sense of community modified scales from McMillan and Chavis (1986) with 34 items (cronbach's alpha is 0,898 and validity coefficient ranged from 0,314-0,637) and job motivation modified scales from Dewi (2008) with 27 items (cronbach's alpha is 0,885 and validity coefficient ranged from 0,308-0,617). The result of this study indicates that the correlation values of sense of community and job motivation is 0,696 with 0,00 probability (p<0,05). It explained that Ho rejected and Ha accepted. Those values indicates that there are positive and significant relationship between sense of community and job motivation of subak's comittee. In addition, determinant coefficient result is 0,484 that pointed the relative contribution among sense of community with job motivation is 48,4%. This result is similiar with the theory from Hughey, et.al. (1999) which reveals that sense of community will encouraged maningful results for organization. Abstract

The use of health insurance is highly related with a person’s life depending on the perception of an individual and health belief model they own. Perception and health belief model bear an important role in determining how a person percieve their future especially related to health and older age well-being. One alternative in promising older age well being and health is through health insurance. This research was aimed to determine the role of individual perception upon insurance and health belief model in decision making process using life insurance. The method of this research is using quantitative method. The subjects of this research were the individuals using life insurance. The total subject in this research is 90 whom were selected using cluster random sampling. For hypothesis, the data was analyzed using multiple regression. The result of multiple regression analysis in this study is 0.764. Relative contribution of perception variable is 98.38% and the health belief model variable is 1.61%. Effective contribution of perception variable is 57.45% and the health belief model variable is 0.94%. This results show that there is a relation between the role of individual perception upon insurance and health belief model in decision making process using life insurance. However, when the data was analyzed using partial correlation, only individual perception of insurance variable has a relation with decision making variable. Abstract

Adolescence is part in life where human change from childhood into adult (Olds, 2009). In their daily life, adolescents spend their more time with their peers (Papalia et al, 2008). An adolescent with working parent, especially adolescents in Pupuan that majorly have parents who work as a farmer, exactly have a lower intensity of time with their parent. The lower time that adolescents spend with their mother, will make a negative effects to adolescent’s cognitive development (Boca, 2012). Mother who work, will influence there adolescent. So, the researcher would like to know are there any significant relationship between the intensity of quality time among the mother and child with the adolescence assertiveness? This research used quantitative method with simple linear regression for data analysis. Researcher collected data by 2 questionnaires (intensity of quality time scale and assertiveness scale) with the reliability of 0,897 and 0,900 from 240 adolescents that take by stratified random sampling with the criterions such as adolescents with age range between 13-15 years old, live in Pupuan, and have a mother who works as farmer. This research found that there is a relationship between the intensity of quality time among the mother and child with the adolescence assertiveness with the correlation’s coefisien 0,395. There are 15,6% assertiveness is influence by the intensity of quality time among mother and child and 84,4% is influence by the other factors. For the deepen explanation, I used adolescence’s socioemotional theories from Papalia (2008). Key words: Quality time intensity, Assertiveness, Adolescence

Abstract

Deaf adolescent has different characteristics in speech and language (Effendi, 2009). These differences cause difficulties in interacting and dealing with adolescent developmental tasks so that adolescent feels isolated and has low self-esteem (Halimah & Elcamila, 2010). One way to improve self-esteem is by dancing, as a form of self-expression and development of confidence in the self competence (Branden, 2005). This study aimed to determine the effect of dancing Balih-balihan toward self esteem of deaf adolescent in Bali. The sampling technique used in this study is two stages cluster sampling. Subjects of this research are 40 deaf students of SLB B in Bali, from age 11-24 years old. The research method that used is ex post facto. Data is collected by using scale of self-esteem based on aspects by Coopersmith. The dance variable is divided into two groups named the control and the experimental group, in this case the experimental group has been doing dance activity as a compulsory activity in schools. Data were analyzed by using Independent Sample T-Test. The validity test shows there are 20 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.384. The result of data analysis shows data distribution is normal and homogeneous. Independent Sample T-Test results t values 1.542 with a probability value 0.131 (p> 0.05). It means there is no significant effect of dancing Balih-balihan toward self-esteem of deaf adolescent in Bali. Keywords: Dancing Balih-balihan, self-esteem, deaf adolescent

Abstract

Contract labor system is one of internal changes phenomena in structure and work system that is done by almost every organization including banking industry. The example is Bank CIMB Niaga that uses contract employees in its banking activities. In its development, there are problems in hiring employees by contract system namely the emergence of job insecurity perceived by employees due to career uncertainty at the company. Another problem that arises related to organizational commitment of contract employees. Job insecurity and organizational commitment problem may affect performance of contract employees. This study aims to examine the relationship between job insecurity and organizational commitment with performance of contract employees in PT. Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk, Bali Region. This research is quantitative study using multiple regression data analysis. The population in this study are all contract employees in PT. Bank CIMB Niaga, Bali Region with minimum 1 year working period. The used sampling method is cluster sampling. Respondents in this study are contract employees working in teller and micro division. The number of respondents is 43. Data in this study were obtained by questionnaires and employee performance appraisal data. The result found significant relationship between job insecurity and organizational commitment with performance of contract employees. Job insecurity is negatively related to performance of contract employees. Organizational commitment is positively related to performance of contracts employees.
