Abstract

The “Koperasi Merah Putih” (KMP), or Red and White Cooperative, is a strategic government initiative mandated by Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2025. It aims to accelerate the establishment of cooperatives at the village and urban ward levels as a means to strengthen the people’s economy and empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Jatisari Urban Ward in Jatiasih Subdistrict, Bekasi City, is one of the areas that has implemented the selection of cooperative board members. However, the selection process has so far applied equal weighting across all assessment criteria, without considering their relative importance. This community service programme aims to develop a rational weighting scenario using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Data were collected through observation and interviews with the selection committee. Eight selection criteria were analyzed through pairwise comparisons by the selection committee (“Tim Formatur”), resulting in a priority weighting that reflects the significance of each criterion in the success of the cooperative. The results show that the relevance of the candidate's presentation to the concept of KMP, as well as the clarity and feasibility of the proposed work programme, have the highest weights. The consistency check yielded a Consistency Ratio (CR) of 6.77%, This weighting model, developed through the BOOST approach, strengthens cooperative governance and supports MSME transformation by promoting an objective and transparent board selection process that can be replicated in other regions

Abstract

Hypertension is a prevalent health issue, particularly among the elderly population in rural areas. Community-based health efforts, such as those implemented through Elderly Integrated Health Posts (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu Lansia-Posbindu), rely heavily on the capacity and knowledge of health cadres. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and awareness of Posbindu cadres in RW 04, Cipangeran Village, Saguling District, regarding hypertension. The intervention was conducted through a planned and structured health education session, delivered by a professional community nursing educator. A total of nine cadres participated in this activity. Pretest and posttest assessments were carried out to measure changes in knowledge. The results showed an increase in posttest scores compared to pretest scores, with the average knowledge score rising from 62.22 to 81.11. Overall, this activity demonstrated that health education is a useful method to enhance the health literacy of community health cadres, potentially contributing to hypertension prevention and control efforts at the community level

Abstract

Palliative care plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with chronic and life-limiting illnesses, yet awareness remains limited, especially in resource-constrained areas like Sucinaraja, Garut Regency. This community service initiative sought to increase understanding of palliative care among members of the Muhammadiyah community through a two-day educational seminar. The program covered prevalent chronic diseases, core principles of palliative care, and identification of patients needing such services. A total of 54 participants attended, engaging in interactive lectures and practical exercises. Knowledge and awareness were assessed using pre- and post-test. Results revealed substantial improvement: post-test accuracy surpassed 80% across all knowledge items, while participants’ awareness significantly increased, with most expressing strong agreement on the importance and community relevance of palliative care. Furthermore, there was notable family support for the integration of palliative care services. This program underscores the value of culturally tailored, community-based health education and the strategic role of religious organizations in promoting public health. Future programs should explore broader outreach and evaluate long-term behavioral impacts

Abstract

In Indonesia, health education about menopause is rarely integrated into primary care services, and awareness among women remains low. Many women do not recognize early menopausal symptoms or how to manage them effectively. Socioeconomic barriers and low educational attainment further limit access to accurate health information. This situation highlights the need for accessible, community-based education programs. It also underscores the urgency of empowering women with accurate information and culturally sensitive support systems to help them navigate menopausal health more effectively. Currently, many women continue to rely on informal sources or endure symptoms without adequate guidance, making health education and accessible screening even more critical. Surveys indicate that 70% of women undergoing the menopausal transition in Indonesia experience symptoms and discomfort caused by hormonal changes. This community service program focused on delivering health education and promotion to help women become more prepared and confident during the menopausal transition. The intervention was conducted through a structured health education session and screening service for 32 women aged 40–55 at the Posbindu in RW 05, Mekarjaya Village, Bandung. A structured questionnaire was used to assess participants' knowledge before and after the intervention. The results revealed a significant improvement in knowledge; initially, 15 respondents (46.9%) demonstrated poor knowledge, which improved substantially following the education session. In conclusion, direct health education had a positive impact on women's knowledge about the menopausal transition. Sustainable collaboration between educational institutions and local health centers is recommended for future programs

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical developmental stage and a national health priority, yet many adolescents, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, still experience limited access to health education, first-aid literacy, and hygienic practices. This community service initiative aimed to strengthen students’ preparedness and health literacy through structured training on First Aid (P3K) and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) at SMP Islam As-Syarief Karangtengah. The program consisted of educational sessions, demonstrations, and guided discussions. Results showed that students demonstrated strong PHBS knowledge but variable understanding of first-aid wound care, indicating the need for more sustained reinforcement. Although no formal skills assessment was conducted, observational findings suggested increased engagement and growing confidence in basic first-aid concepts. The outcomes highlight the importance of integrating continuous mentorship, periodic refresher training, and stronger collaboration with local health centers to support practical skill development. Schools are encouraged to institutionalize student-led health initiatives, such as adolescent health posts, to ensure sustainability. Future programs should incorporate structured skill assessments and follow-up evaluations to maximize behavioral impact and strengthen school-based health promotion.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to build sustainable economic independence in Gandasoli Village, Kuningan Regency, through the establishment of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative. Despite having abundant natural and human resources, the village lacked an economic institution capable of managing local potential collectively. In response to Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2025 on village cooperatives, the program was implemented using a participatory and collaborative approach involving Universitas Kuningan, the Gandasoli Village Government, and local communities. The activities included socialization, training, technological innovation, mentoring, and evaluation. The results showed significant outcomes: increased community understanding of cooperative principles (up 36% from pre-test to post-test), completion of all legal and organizational documents, and successful integration of simple digital tools that improved administrative transparency and member participation. The cooperative now serves as a formal village economic institution fostering inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability. Beyond institutional establishment, the program strengthened social capital, enhanced local economic literacy, and created a model of sustainable community-based development. This initiative demonstrates that university–government–community collaboration can effectively accelerate the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting decent work, economic growth, and poverty reduction

Abstract

Older adults are a vulnerable to elevated bllod glucose levels due to age-related metabolic decline and insufficient physical activity. This community service program aimed to improve knowledge, exercise skills and immediate glycemic response among older adults through health education and guided interval walking training (IWT) as a practical physical activity strategy. The target participants were community-dwelling older adults aged 60-75 years in Banten Province who were able to walk independently. The program employed a participatory health education approach, consisting of educational lectures, visual media presentations, demonstration and supervised IWT practice. Educational media included PowerPoint slides, verbal counseling, and direct exercise guidance by physiotherapists. Program outcomes were evaluated using validated knowledge questionnaires and random blood glucose measurements conducted before and after the activity using calibrated glucometers. Data were analyzed descriptively to compare pre- and post-activity outcomes. The results demontrated a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge score increasing from 62% to 91%, alongside a reduction in average blood glucose levels from 178 mg/dL to 156 mg/dL representing a 12.4% decrease following a single session. Additionally the number of participants with blood glucose levels above 200 mg/dL decrease from 9 to 3 individuals. These findings indicate the community-based health education combined with guided interval walking can enhance awareness, exercise engangement, and short-term blood glucose control in older adults. This program highlights the potential of physiotherapist-led educational interventions as an accesible strategy for promoting activve lifestyles and supporting metabolic health among older populations.

Abstract

Integrative Holistic Early Childhood Education is a comprehensive approach for children aged 0–6 years that integrates education, health, nutrition, and well-being; however, its implementation is often hindered by limited training and educational materials for early childhood education administrators on child nutrition and simple health assessments, as well as low parental awareness of healthy nutrition for young children. In Bandung Regency, the target proportion of undernourished toddlers is set below 15%, yet Community Health Centre data indicate that only 62.8% of toddlers experienced weight gain, which remains below the target of 90%. Early Childhood Education Patriot, located within the working area of the Bojongsoang Community Health Centre, Bandung Regency, was selected as the site for this community service programme, which aimed to improve parents’ knowledge and teachers’ skills related to early childhood growth and development screening. The programme consisted of structured seminars for parents and practical training sessions for teachers delivered by professional midwifery educators, involving six teachers, 20 parents, and 28 early childhood education students. Following the intervention, parents’ average knowledge scores increased from 67 to 82, while teachers’ knowledge scores improved by an average of 7.8 points and their practical skills by an average of 17.66 points. In conclusion, the seminars and training had a positive impact on parents’ knowledge of balanced nutrition and enhanced teachers’ knowledge and skills in conducting simple early childhood screening, supporting the need for sustained collaboration between educational institutions and local health centres
