Abstract

Abstract This research aims to make the learning model that able to develop the natural intelligence suitable for the learning process of the first class of the elementary school. This research is the developing research based on the Borg and Gall’s model (1983). The product developed in this research is the science learning model. The experiment did in the SD Sultan Agung, Yogyakarta, involving 1 teacher and 24 students. Because of the lack of time and finance in research, the experiment was done only one school. The data are collected by observation documentation and interview. This data are analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The result of this research showed that the teacher can stimulate the natural intelligence through the science learning model developed by the researcher. This model can also stimulate the student’s natural intelligence. The field experiments showed that the science learning developed to be implemented out of the class made the students more actives, more spirit, and cheerful than other activities done in  the class. The science learning done with giving more assignment made the students more actives than speech and interview method. Keywords: science learning model, stimulate natural intelligence.

Abstract

This study was aimed at developing module material for Guidance and Counseling teachers to increase the psychological preparedness of senior high school students in facing natural disasters. Using the research and development approach, the researcher involved 48 Guidance and Counseling teachers in the special region of Yogyakarta as research participants for needs assessment purposes. The modules were tried out to Guidance and Counseling teachers of senior high schools in the special region of Yogyakarta, involving 6 people at the initial field, 15 people at the main field, and 65 people at the operational field. Instruments applied to collect data were either opened or closed questionnaires. The collected data, the quantitative as well as the qualitative ones, were analyzed descriptively. Results obtained from this study are: (1) Material required by Guidance and Counseling teachers for module of psychological preparedness in facing natural disaster cover cognitive aspects ( 14,58%), affective aspects ( 31,25%) and psychomotoric aspects ( 52,08%); (2) The module of "Personal-Sosial Guidance for increasing Psychological Preparedness of Students in Facing Natural Disasters" cover three activities of personal-sosial services, each to face natural disasters of (a) earthquake, (b) mount eruption, and (c) tropical cyclone; and (3) The module validated is valued proper either in appearance or in concept, and is also useful as media for assisting to perform service of personal-sosial guidance to increase psychological preparedness of senior high school students in facing natural disaster. Further, the module is valued as self-contained for having fulfilled acceptance criterion (subjects reaching 80% of minimum understanding) at the test of content understanding and module readability.

Abstract

The study is aimed at developing a model of social behaviour modifaction through a convergence-based learning media for autistic children at special schools. More specifically, the study is to describe (1) conditions and characteristics of autistic children, (2) competencies for language, academic, and pre-academic, and (3) development of the modification media. The study is developmental in two phases, namely (1) pre-development, and (2) development. The subjects are 10 autistic children from Bina Anggita special schools and leading special schools in the province chosen through purposive sampling by grade levels and class activities. The pre-development data are collected through observation and interviews; the development data through theoretical analysis and pre-research. Data are analyzed by a descriptive qualitative technique. Findings show (1) in the pre-development, subjects are (a) able to do a short eye contact, (b) have low pre-academic and academic conditions, and (c) not able to keep eye contact for five seconds, tend to have tantrums, weep for no reason, laugh, self-stimulate, mumble, and have short attention span; (2) convergence-based hypothetical plan for development steps: (a) assessment of social behaviours, (b) development of learning themes and sub-themes, (c) design of convergence-based learning media, (d) procedures of social behaviour modification merged in learning activities, and (e) monitoring and evaluation of outcomes of the subjects behaviour changes

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to describe vocational high school (VHS) educational budget pattern, its problems, and also the effort solve the problems. This research was conducted at stage as well as private VHSs in Yogyakarta. A sample of 11 state and 26 private VHSs was established. Data were collected by using questionnaire, interview, and document and then analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results indicate that: (a) Educational budget of state and private  VHSs comes from government finance and parents support category, (b) Educational budget of state and private VHSs come more from government than from parents support, whereas that of private VHSs come more from parents than from government. (c) The biggest problem faced by state as well as private VHSs is the delay of payment from the government and the parents. Keywords: Educational Budget Pattern, Vocational High School (SMK)

Abstract

This study is aimed at finding out the condition, readiness, and the needs for hardware, software, and brainware in schools to support the development of e-learning systems and developing a model of Moodle software development for e-learning suitable with the needs of state senior high schools in Yogyakarta. The study uses the Research Development approach, with the research setting of high school e-learning in Yogyakarta. The respondents are school principals and staff members who deal with information technology in the school. Data are collected by interview, observation, and documentation; and are analyzed qualitatively. The results show: (1) The condition, readiness, and needs indicate that the hardware and software meet the basic criteria, while human resources have not met the number and qualifications, both for computer experts and technicians. (2) Based on the condition, readiness, and needs, a preliminary design of LMS-based learning model is developed the with the development of Moodle software for the e-learning system of state high schools in Yogyakarta. The development involves modifying the Moodle software that emphasizes the facility of plug-ins (dragMath), hosting, and maintenance. The designed model is validated by experts and socialized and trained to the IT administrative members of the state high schools. The model developed receives positive responses from schools and is to be followed up with the development of content subjects included in the e-learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebermanfaatan kit praktikum multifunction equipment dalam eksperimen sains realistik; kegunaan modul eksperimen dan LKS bahasa Braille; jenis aktivitas siswa yang muncul   melalui penerapan model eksperimen sains dengan pendekatan konstruktivis; hasil evaluasi pembelajaran sains menggunakan model evaluasi yang telah dikembangkan; dan respon siswa terhadap implementasi perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan dalam mengoptimalkan aktivitas langsung bagi siswa penyandang tuna netra dan tuna rungu. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain penelitian pengembangan menurut Cennamo dan Kalk. Hasil yang telah dicapai adalah: 1) Kit praktikum menggunakan teknologi multifunction equipment telah dapat digunakan; 2) Modul eksperimen dan LKS bahasa Braille dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar; 3) Jenis aktivitas siswa yang muncul melalui penerapan model eksperimen sains dengan pendekatan konstruktivis meliputi menduga, mengukur, mencatat hasil, membuat daftar, menuliskan hasil dan melaporkan hasil; 4) Hasil evaluasi pembelajaran sains menggunakan model evaluasi yang telah dikembangkan menunjukkan nilai rerata 7,3; dan 5) Respon siswa terhadap implementasi perangkat pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan dalam mengoptimalkan aktivitas langsung bagi siswa penyandang tuna netra dan tuna rungu sangat baik. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasisproblem based learning dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP dan (2) perbedaan keterampilan memecahkanmasalah dan scientifi c attitude antara pembelajaran yang menggunakan perangkat berbasis problembased learning dengan pembelajaran menggunakan perangkat konvensional. Penelitian inimenggunakan metode Research and Development (RD) yang dikembangkan oleh Borg Gall.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan sudahlayak digunakan berdasarkan pada hasil validasi ahli, uji coba terbatas, uji coba lapangan yang sesuaidengan problem based learning, sehingga telah teruji secara teoritis dan empiris dan (2) terdapatperbedaan nilai keterampilan memecahkan masalah dan scientifi c attitude antara pembelajaranyang menggunakan perangkat berbasis problem based learning dengan pembelajaran menggunakanperangkat konvensional
