Abstract

Abstract This study was aimed to developing school accreditation odel, covering the aspects of organization, working scheme, instrumentation, scoring system, and the determination of the accreditation standing. The instrument has been restricted to the essential elements so that schools can be expected to be able to evaluate themselves. It has been tried   out at three Junior and three Senior High Schools in each of two provinces, the Province of Yogyakarta and the Provinces of Lampung. Those schools are the schools of high, medium, and low standing. The accreditation organization resulted consists of three levels, namely the School Accreditation Board, the Regional Accreditation Board, and the National accreditation Board. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to describe the programme planning, intervention, and evaluation of the instructional treatment of autistic children. Using the naturalistic qualitative approach, data were collected by interviews, observations, and document analyses. Data were validated by way of the triangulation technique, checking with department friends through discussions and by way of in-depth observation. The data collected were reduced and analysed to yield the research findings. The findings are as follows. The autism treatment programme was carried out through many steps of planning, performance, and evaluation. Autism is an integral part of children who have a special need and special education with service modelling according to their interests, needs, and abilities. Autism is a trouble and tardiness in cognitive, communication, social interaction, and habits. Autism needs a treatment programme that is the same with their education process and everything is given wholly and individually so that they can improve their abilities. Suggestions were given that autism programme be made more effective, the headmaster increase the number of teachers, and cooperation be maximalized between the school and parents.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to developed a web-based transaction processing system of higher education academic administration that considered dota security. The system consisted of*ee parts ofsofiware, one for  network administrator, one  other  for  student. The  function  for  academic administrator staff, and the of each part should consider the user authorization. This research used Windows 97 operating system. Microsofi Access 97, l|/ebBase 4. 10 build 57, and a computer supported the software that was ready to be connected to computer network. Thirteen tables were built to store data. The system soJtware was written in I{TML, WebBase macro, and SQL to modify data in the tables. The sofiware was saved in htf files  that could be accessed with browser. Abstract

Management of life skills education programs were intended to give benefits for target groups. Attainment of the benefits of the programs depended on how much participation was realized by the target groups. The present study was aimed at providing information as input for developing the quality of the program. The study was qualitative research involving the programs in Yogyakarta Special Province. The results of study showed that of the eight of the programs analyzed, the mayority of the students were aware of the benefits of the programs, move toward involvement, have both intrinsic or extrinsic motivation, have knowedges mainly in the main competencies, and implement the output of trainning on the field of self-efforts or work with others. The implementation of the ADKAR approch was characterized by two traits, namely: human aspects and non-human aspects. So, as conclusive of the study, it was necessary to implement the ADKAR approach continuously for each stage of the management of the life skills education programs. Abstract

FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERPENGARUH TERHADAP SELF DIRECTED LEARNING READINESS DAN PRESTASI AKADEMIKAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh karakteristik mahasiswa, faktor internal, dan faktor eksternal terhadap self directed learning readiness (SDLR) dan prestasi akademik mahasiswa serta menganalisis pengaruh SDLR terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan desain survei terhadap 111 mahasiswa tahun ke-IV Program Studi Sarjana Kedokteran Universitas Tadulako dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa kuesioner untuk mengukur faktor internal, faktor eksternal, dan SDLR. Indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) mahasiswa digunakan untuk mengukur prestasi akademik. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan alat bantu analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan metode alternatif berbasis variance atau component based SEM yang disebut Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik mahasiswa dan faktor internal berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap SDLR dan prestasi akademik mahasiswa, sedangkan faktor eksternal tidak berpengaruh terhadap SDLR dan prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Faktor yang memberikan pengaruh yang lebih tinggi terhadap SDLR dan prestasi akademik mahasiswa adalah faktor internal. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa SDLR tidak berpengaruh terhadap pencapaian prestasi akademik mahasiswa. AbstractThis study was aimed at analyzing the influence factors of student characteristics, the internal factors, and external factors of self-directed learning readiness (SDLR) and student academic achievement as well as the influence factors of SDLR on student academic achievement. This study was conducted by using a survey design on 111 students of the fourth year of Tadulako University Medical Undergraduate Program by using questionnaires to measure internal factors, external factors, and SDLR. The students’ cumulative grade point (GPA) was used to indicate academic achievement. The data were analyzed quantitatively using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis tools with alternative variance or component based SEM method called Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that the characteristics of the students and the internal factors significantly affect the SDLR and the students’ academic achievement, while the external factors have no effect on the SDLR and the students’ academic achievement. The factors that have a higher effect on SDLR and student achievement are internal factors. The results also show that SDLR does not affect the students’ academic achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan show and tell edukatif untuk mengembangkan empati, afiliasi-resolusi konflik, dan kebiasaan positif AUD yang sudah divalidasi oleh ahli dan diuji coba di lapangan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam keseluruhan penelitian adalah Research and Development (RD). Subjek penelitian adalah 11 KB-TK, 22 orang pendidik, dan 247 anak usia dini di Kelompok Bermain dan Taman Kanak-kanak di DIY yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive. Lokasi yang dipilih meliputi satu TK di Kabupaten Sleman, tiga KB-TK di Kabupaten Kulon Progo, tiga KB-TK di Kabupaten Bantul, dan empat KB-TK di Kota Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode angket, observasi, wawancara, dan focus group discussion. Data dianalisis  secara  deskriptif,  kuantitatif  dan  kualitatif.  Hasil  penelitian  menunjukkan  bahwa media show and tell anak didominasi oleh benda-benda pribadi anak; uji coba menunjukkan komponen kebiasaan positif naik 1,15 poin, empati naik 0,96, afiliasi dan resolusi konflik naik 0,87; pelaksanaan show and tell secara keseluruhan memiliki skor 8,17 (skor tertinggi 15), yang berarti anak cukup dalam kegiatan show and tell; anak-anak sudah mampu bercerita, bertanya, dan menjawab pertanyaan sederhana hingga relatif sulit meskipun harus terus-menerus difasilitasi guru; anak-anak juga memiliki kemauan untuk mengamati benda pribadi dan mengelaborasinya pada saat bercerita sehingga meningkatkan aspek isi show and tell, walaupun aspek bahasa dan refleksi belum optimal; dan perbaikan terjadi dalam beberapa kali pertemuan.

Abstract

This study was aimed at examining the development of problem-based English speaking materials and the elements in the problem-based English speaking materials which can enhance grade X students’ critical thinking skills. Employing a Research and Development design using Jolly and Bolitho’s model (1998), the study collected data through observations, tests, interviews, and questionnaires to reach a comprehensive needs analysis. A total of 90 grade X students participated in the study. The product of this study was a set of supplementary materials for teaching speaking. Six units were developed; each of which consisting of six parts reflecting the problem-based stages. Based on the expert judgment, the mean score for all chapters was 3.69, equivalent to the range score of 3.25 ≤ x ≤ 4 (very good). Chapter I and II were tried out to the students. The response showed that the mean score of each chapter was 3.2, equivalent to the range score of 2.5 ≤ x ≤ 3.24 (good). To conclude, the materials are appropriate to be used by 10th graders because it meets their needs and it is designed based on the current curriculum.MATERI BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS BERBASISKAN MASALAH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITISAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan materi berbicara bahasa Inggris berbasiskan masalah dan elemen-elemen dalam materi berbicara bahasa Inggris berbasiskan masalah yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X. Dengan melakukan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan mengadaptasi model Jolly dan Bolitho (1998), data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes, wawancara, dan angket untuk mendapatkan hasil analisis kebutuhan yang komprehensif. Siswa kelas X sejumlah 90 orangberpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah satu set materi pendukung untuk mengajar berbicara. Enam unit materi sudah dikembangkan. Setiap unit berisi beberapa bagian yang mencerminkan langkah dalam pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Berdasarkan penilaian ahli, nilai rata-rata dari semua unit adalah 3,69 yang ekuivalen dengan rentang 3.25 ≤ x ≤ 4 dengan kriteria “sangat baik”. Unit I dan II diujicobakan. Respons siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata masing-masing unit sebesar 3,2 yang ekuivalen dengan rentang 2.5 ≤ x ≤ 3.24 dengan kriteria “baik”. Kesimpulannya, materi yang sudah dikembangkan layak untuk digunakan karena sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa dan kurikulum yang digunakan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor sosiodemografi, sikap, dan kontekstual terhadap niat berwirausaha siswa SMK di Kabupaten Bantul Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitiannya adalah ex-post facto dengan subjek penelitian 63 siswa yang terdiri atas siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul dan SMK Negeri Sedayu. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan angket dengan skala likert. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara faktor sosiodemografi, sikap, dan kontekstual terhadap niat berwirausaha siswa SMK. Besarnya sumbangan efektif (R2) untuk masing-masing faktor terhadap niat berwirausaha sebesar 22,04% dari faktor sosiodemografi, 19,82% dari faktor sikap, 32,88% dari faktor kontekstual, dan variabel lain yang tidak dibahas dalam penelitian ini sebesar 25,26%.

Abstract

This study was aimed at investigating the application of inquiry learning in the context of socioscientific issues (SSI) influences students' skills in critical thinking and scientific explanation on the topic of reaction rates. This study was quantitative research used post test only control group design. A total of 90 students who were enrolled in the 3 classes from one public senior high school in Malang regency were selected as the research sample by convenience. The data of critical thinking ability were collected through critical thinking test. The data of scientific explanation were collected through scientific explanation test. The results of critical thinking test were categorized by Ennis’s critical thinking, while the results of scientific explanation test were categorized by SOLO taxonomy. The data were analysed quantitatively by statistical parametric. The result of One-Way ANOVA showed that there were significant differences in students' critical thinking skills and scientific explanation ability who were taught by inquiry with SSI learning, inquiry, and verification model. Students who were taught by inquiry with SSI learning had a higher average of critical thinking and scientific explanation skills than the students who were taught by inquiry and verification learning. PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI BERKONTEKS SOCIOSCIENTIFIC-ISSUES TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATIONPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran inkuiri berkonteks socioscientific issues (SSI) terhadap keterampilan siswa dalam berpikir kritis dan scientific explanation pada topik laju reaksi. Penelitian kuantitatif dilakukan dengan posttest only control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 90 siswa yang terbagi ke dalam 3 kelas dari satu SMA Negeri di Kota Malang yang dipilih menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Data keterampilan berpikir kritis diperoleh dari tes keterampilan berpikir kritis. Data penjelasan ilmiah dikumpulkan dengan tes scientific explanation. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis dikategorikan menurut kategori berpikir kritis Ennis. Adapun data kemampuan scientific explanation siswa dikategorikan menurut taksonomi SOLO. One-Way ANOVA digunakan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perlakuan Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan scientific explanation pada siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran inkuiri berkonteks SSI, inkuiri, dan verifikasi. Siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran inkuiri berkonteks SSI memiliki nilai rata-rata keterampilan berpikir kritis lebih tinggi dan lebih mampu membangun explanation hingga level tertinggi yaitu level extended abstract, dibandingkan dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan pembelajaran inkuiri dan verifikasi.

Abstract

Abstract Learning process is persuasive communication process. The effectiveness of persuasive depends on several factors such as the persuader, message, media, persuade. In learning process, the effectiveness depends on the credibility of the lecturer, quality of the learning material and the quality of media using. These factors could be predictors for the students’ learning achievement. This article is based on the research about the factors that influence the effectiveness of learning communication. Based on the survey research and quantitative data analysis, it was found that the factors, which influence the learning achievement, are the intellectual qualities that have already had by the students and the quality of the teaching materials. The credibility of the lecturers and the quality of the learning media utilizing influence learning achievement are only for the students who have low achievement and low learning motivation in class.
