Abstract

Early marriage is a marriage that is not permitted because it violates the age limit for marriage, which stipulates that marriage must be done at the age of more than 20 years but is done when the age is under 20 years. Republic of Indonesia Law No. 1 of 1974 states that early marriage cannot be carried out if the bride and groom are underage. However, cases of early marriage in Indonesia always increase every year. Community Service Activities (PKM) Socialization regarding Early Marriage in the Health Sector and Legal Aspects among Youth Groups in Deleng Pokhkisen District, Southeast Aceh Regency in 2024 was held on March 2-3 2024 with a total of 45 participants. The extension participants seemed enthusiastic about the materials presented by the resource persons and were able to be actively involved, so that this extension activity took place in a two-way system and many participants asked questions. The presentation of the extension material was followed by discussion, ice breaking, and distribution of door prizes to participants who were active during the discussion activities.

Abstract

The method of treatment with the medium of odors (aromas) derived from certain plants is called aromatherapy. One of the applications of aromatherapy is by using aromatherapy candles which, if burned, will produce an aroma that can provide a therapeutic effect for humans. In addition, aromatherapy candles can also function as decorators, insect repellents, and fragrances. This community service activity aims to improve the skills of high school students in the field of entrepreneurship through the manufacture of aromatherapy candles. The activity was held on March 2, 2024 at the Al Washliyah Private Madrasah School 29 Binjai City, North Sumatra with a total of 25 participants. The activity consists of several stages, starting from the preparation stage, socialization activities, candle making techniques and product marketing strategies. Students are also provided with an understanding of the benefits of aromatherapy candles for health and relaxation. The results of this activity show that students are able to produce aroma therapy candles with good quality, improve students' practical skills and increase entrepreneurial spirit. This activity is expected to be an inspiration for other schools for the development of entrepreneurship programs.

Abstract

Increased life expectancy and behavioral changes and demographic transitions trigger epidemiological transitions. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared 2020-2030 the "Decade of Healthy Aging". Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are two of the most common non-communicable diseases and are associated with high morbidity and mortality. The method carried out in this activity is by conducting health checks, namely checking blood pressure and blood sugar and counseling to each individual after the examination. The relationship between the incidence of hypertension and diabetes mellitus according to some researchers is very closely related, therefore we, carry out health examination and education work programs for the community, staff and teachers in the West Cengkareng output area and PCA Cengkareng aimed to increase public awareness in maintaining health. From the health examination activities, it is hoped that the people of the PCA area and West Cengkareng Village can maintain a healthier lifestyle, for their physical and spiritual health. Based on the Real Work Lecture (KKN) activity in the form of a health check, this has benefits where the community can do health checks for free, and the community gets new knowledge related to the application of a healthy lifestyle in maintaining their body health.

Abstract

Two important things that are now increasingly emphasized are related to the implementation of effective and efficient health services, which is a must. In improving health services that focus on patient satisfaction during treatment, highly capable, dexterous, and skilled health workers who can coordinate with each other are needed. Humans are one of the important resources in hospitals that are able to apply the functions of planning, organizing, directing and controlling various HR management tasks. Especially in the current era which demands excellence in the quality of human resources characterized by a synergy between the mastery of science and the ability to utilize information technology. The main target of this community service activity is Undergraduate Hospital Administration Study Program Students, Faculty of Health Sciences, Kusuma Husada University Surakarta as human resources who will work in hospitals and the output target is publication in a national journal of community service.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an acute infectious disease caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito and enters human blood. Data on DHF sufferers in Dukuh Waringinrejo in RW 20 Gang Elang 2. Information from the village midwife obtained 5 DHF sufferers, 3 children and 2 adults. The purpose of this activity is to find out if there is an increase in the knowledge of posyandu cadres, especially RW 19 and 20 Dukuh Waringinrejo, Cemani Village in preventing DHF through counseling to posyandu cadres. Posyandu Nusa Indah 15 is the location for implementing counseling which is located in Dukuh Waringinrejo. The number of participants in counseling on prevention of DHF was 15 posyandu cadres. The method used in carrying out community service activities is in the form of counseling about DHF with the target of posyandu cadres RW 19 and 20 Dukuh Waringinrejo, Cemani Village. The intervention was carried out using the lecture method and using educational videos about DHF. The activity instrument was in the form of pre-test and post-test questionnaires. From the results of the average pre-test and post-test values, it can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge of posyandu cadres after counseling is held.

Abstract

Stunting is a problem of insufficient nutritional intake during the first 1000 days of a child's life, causing failure to grow and develop in children. Stunted children will generally look the same as other normal children, but the differences will be clearly visible when the child is 2 years old, which is characterized by a height that is not appropriate for children his age, and his face looks older than his age. After identification, 50% of mothers who have babies and toddlers are not aware of stunting. The aim of this service is to provide health education to mothers of babies and toddlers through counseling and video demonstrations of MP-ASI processing to increase understanding as an effort to prevent stunting. The method of service carried out is counseling about stunting and a video demonstration of the MP-ASI innovation, namely making vegetable chicken sempol. The results of the implementation evaluation before being given counseling were in the sufficient knowledge category (28.6%) and after being given counseling it was (85.7%) meaning that the counseling was successful.

Abstract

Breast milk is an excellent source of nutrition for infants, providing a balanced composition that meets their growth needs. In several regions of South Kalimantan, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding remains low. In Banjar Regency, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding reached 82.1% in 2020. Failure to provide exclusive breastfeeding can potentially lead to nutrient deficiencies in infants. This community service aims to enhance knowledge about proper breastfeeding techniques to raise awareness and prepare mothers for breastfeeding before childbirth. Implementation Method: This activity employs training, Q&A sessions, and group viewing of educational videos on proper breastfeeding techniques. Results and Conclusions: The activity led to an increase in knowledge and skills regarding proper breastfeeding techniques. The participants consisted of 15 pregnant women. Among all respondents, the pre-test results showed that the understanding and skills in proper breastfeeding techniques were at 54%. After the post-test, the respondents' understanding increased to 72%, reflecting an 18% improvement. It is hoped that this community service will be beneficial and help in realizing a healthy and intelligent generation through optimal breastfeeding.

Abstract

Chancroid remains an important cause of the genital ulceration syndrome in the tropics where erythromycin has been the mainstay of therapy.Single dose oral azithromycin or ciprofloxacin and intramuscular ceftriaxone regimens offer advantages in terms of improved patient compliance. There are some data to suggest that HIV seropositive and uncircumcised patients are more likely to fail single dose therapeutic regimens and so these groups of patients need more intensive follow up. WHO recommended syndromic management for genital ulceration includes therapy for both chancroid and syphilis.In those parts of the world where diagnostic facilities exist, the diagnosis of chancroid is normally made by laboratory culture of H ducreyi.The more sensitive DNA amplification techniques remain research tools at the present time

Abstract

Sawerigading Hospital is located in the middle of Palopo City where the location is very strategic and easy to reach by the community, so it is not surprising that Sawerigading Hospital is in great demand by the people of Palopo City to get health service facilities. The method used in this community service activity is a group discussion with an interactive question and answer session between helpers and mothers for 40 minutes. The mothers are all postpartum mothers at Sawerigading Hospital, Palopo City, with a total of 30 mothers. Before the educational activity, a pre-test was carried out and after the activity a post-test was carried out using a questionnaire containing 10 questions about the importance of the kangaroo method. This activity was carried out at Sawerigading Hospital, Palopo City. Kangaroo Method Treatment (FMD) is skin contact between mother and baby early, continuously and combined with exclusive breastfeeding. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of mothers and mothers of.
