Abstract

Washing your hands is one way to remove germs and to avoid disease transmission. The habit of Indonesian children in washing their hands is still in the low category. At school, children not only learn, but there are many other activities that children can do at school, such as playing, touching or exchanging things with friends. Hand washing must be taught to children from an early age so that children have the habit of washing their hands, so that children avoid disease. Standard recommendations for preventing the spread of infection are through washing hands regularly using soap and clean water, implementing coughing and sneezing etiquette, avoiding direct contact with livestock or wild animals and avoiding close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory disease such as coughing and sneezing. Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is a set of behaviors that are practiced on a conscious basis as a result of learning that enables a person or family to help themselves in the field of health and play an active role in realizing public health. Healthy conditions can be achieved by changing unhealthy behavior to healthy behavior and creating a healthy environment in the household. Therefore, health needs to be maintained, maintained and improved by every member of the household and fought for by all parties. The introduction of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in elementary school education is able to maintain, improve and protect the health of each household member from the threat of disease and an environment that is less conducive to healthy living. Washing your hands with soap can kill the virus that causes infection from your hands before the virus infects the body. Apart from that, washing your hands regularly can also reduce the spread of the virus to other people.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a new disease that was first reported in Wuhan, China, and has been recognized as a global pandemic by WHO. The spread of the corona virus occurs through droplets which can be transmitted from person to person, causing problems with the respiratory tract. Meanwhile, milk consumption in Indonesia is still low due to dislike of the smell and taste of milk. One solution to increase milk consumption is through product diversification by adding date juice. Date juice is rich in nutrients and can increase the nutritional value of milk, giving it a sweet taste that people like. Apart from that, the tradition of consuming herbal medicine remains popular in Indonesia as an alternative treatment that is considered safe and does not cause serious side effects. This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding date juice on the organoleptic characteristics of date milk and maintain the sustainability of the use of herbal medicine in Indonesian society.

Abstract

Jamu, as a traditional Indonesian drink, has become a symbol of cultural richness and local wisdom inherent in ancestral heritage, reflecting the deep connection between humans and nature as well as the passing down of knowledge about medicinal plants. Local wisdom plays a central role in the use of herbal medicine, emphasizing harmony between humans and nature and Indonesia's biodiversity. In the midst of modernization, herbal medicine continues to adapt to changing times and market demands, but its traditional values are still maintained. An outreach activity about herbal medicine in Galang District involved lecturers and two students from the Mitra Bunda Health Institute as well as 100 participants from the local community, starting from preparing materials and tools for making herbal medicine, discussing materials, to morning exercises at the Rempang Cate Community Health Center, all carried out together with the community. Making herbal medicine empon-empon is done by adding enough brown sugar to get the right taste. People feel fresh benefits after consuming herbal medicine and are inspired to understand the manufacturing process more deeply.

Abstract

Sedentary lifestyle is a type of lifestyle of individuals or groups that does not allow regular physical activity, a group of behaviors characterized by little or no physical movement and low energy expenditure of less than 1.5 MET (Metabolic Equivalent Task), MET is used to assess energy expenditure during activities. Sedentary behavior is a risky behavior for obesity in teenagers, heart disease and even affects life expectancy. Many factors can improve a sedentary lifestyle, including technological advances, demographic factors (age and gender), ethnicity and socio-economic status. The rapid development of technology makes teenagers passive. Rapid advances in technology have led to an increase in the sedentary lifestyle. Community service activities are carried out through stages of measuring knowledge data before and after providing health education, delivering material on preventing sedentary lifestyle behavior in teenagers. The result of this community service activity is an increase in teenagers' knowledge about the sedentary lifestyle. It is hoped that for students there will be a decrease in sedentary lifestyle after counseling on sedentary lifestyle behavior for teenagers at SMA N 1 Tuntang.

Abstract

According to the Indonesian Health Profile (2021), preeclampsia or eclampsia, bleeding, and COVID-19 caused the highest number of maternal deaths in 2021. In 2022, the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia reached 183 deaths per 100,000 live births, with preeclampsia as the main cause. One of the most common maternal health problems in Indonesia is preeclampsia, which has a high incidence rate and causes dangerous complications for both mother and baby. Research and prevention efforts continue to be needed to reduce maternal mortality in Indonesia. In addition to disorders during pregnancy, we as academics who continue to be pro-active in community service activities in our fields, must also pay attention to postpartum health. The incidence rate of postpartum blues in Indonesia will reach 50-70% in 2023. According to the WHO, around 10% of pregnant women and 13% of new mothers experience mental health disorders, especially depression. Risk factors that increase the likelihood of postpartum blues are the young age of the mother, lack of support from the husband, and difficult economic situation. The method used in this activity is lectures and discussions, with power point and leaflet media. Target Women of Childbearing Age (WUS), pregnant women and postpartum mothers. After the educational activity, participants asked several questions, such as how to know if a pregnant woman has a disorder, how many times to do a check-up, and what the family should do if the mother seems stressed after childbirth.
