Abstract

The Individualized Education Program (IEP), known in Indonesia as Program Pendidikan Individual (PPI), is a learning-planning instrument specifically designed to address the personalized learning needs of children with special needs. Although its use has been widely encouraged within Indonesia's inclusive education policy, its implementation in the field still faces various challenges, particularly at schools that lack adequate support systems. This study aims to explore how teachers in Banda Aceh City understand, design, and implement IEPs for students with special needs, as well as the obstacles they encounter in the process. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach involving five teachers selected through purposive sampling as informants. Data were collected through observation and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that IEP implementation in practice remains heavily dependent on individual teacher initiative, involves minimal multidisciplinary collaboration, and is constrained by limited time, training, and family support. These findings offer an initial picture of the gap between policy ideals and the reality of IEP implementation at the school level, while also informing the development of more structured teacher mentoring systems for educating children with special needs.

Abstract

Marobo ikat weaving is one of the cultural products of the Malaka Regency community that contains aesthetic, social, and philosophical values. One of the decorative motifs found in the weaving is the Kikit motif. In the local language, Kikit refers to an eagle or garuda. This study aims to describe the form and reveal the philosophical meaning of the Kikit motif in Marobo ikat weaving in Umakatahan Village, Malaka Tengah District, Malaka Regency. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews with weavers, traditional leaders, and residents who know the history and meaning of the Kikit motif. Supporting data were obtained through observations of the fabric and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was checked through source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the Kikit motif is a depiction of an eagle or garuda that has a strong character, is able to fly high, move agilely, and catch targets accurately. The motif contains philosophical meanings in the form of gallantry, courage, strength, dexterity, determination, authority, and high ideals. The Kikit motif also serves as a cultural identity, a medium for conveying life values, and a link between the current generation and ancestral heritage. Therefore, the Kikit motif needs to be preserved through family education, documentation, weaving training, and the use of weaving that respects the cultural values of the Malacca people.

Abstract

Readiness for marriage in young adult women is becoming an increasingly important issue due to the increasing trend of delaying marriage and the high demands of individuals to prepare themselves before entering family life. One of the psychological factors suspected to play a role in shaping readiness for marriage is emotional maturity, namely the ability of individuals to control emotions, adapt, and make mature decisions. This study aims to determine the effect of emotional maturity on readiness for marriage in young adult women in Samarinda City. This study uses a quantitative approach with 100 early adult women aged 20-30 years selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using the Emotional Maturity Scale based on Singh and Bhargava's theory and the Marriage Readiness Criteria scale based on Ghalili's theory, then analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 26. The results of the study indicate that emotional maturity has a positive and significant effect on readiness for marriage (p < 0.001) with a contribution of 26.1% (R2 = 0.261). These findings indicate that the higher the emotional maturity of an individual, the higher the readiness for marriage in early adult women in Samarinda City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of written tests in measuring students’ conceptual understanding in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at the elementary school level. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects consisted of 60 students from grades I to VI at SD Negeri Traju 02, selected using proportional sampling technique. The research instrument was a 20-item multiple-choice test validated through expert judgment. Data collection techniques included written tests and documentation, while data analysis was conducted descriptively using validity testing with Product Moment correlation, reliability testing with Cronbach’s Alpha, and analysis of item difficulty and discrimination index. The results indicated that most test items were valid and highly reliable, with moderate difficulty levels and acceptable to good discrimination power. Overall, the written test was considered sufficiently effective in measuring students’ conceptual understanding, although it still had limitations in assessing higher-order thinking skills. Therefore, more varied and contextual evaluation instruments are needed to improve the quality of student learning assessment.

Abstract

Chinese New Year is a central tradition in Chinese culture, functioning not only as the lunar new year celebration but also as a means of transmitting cultural values, family identity, and intergenerational bonds. This study aims to describe the stages of the Chinese New Year tradition, analyze its symbolic meanings and embedded values, and interpret its role in reproducing the identity of the Kong (孔) clan family in Xiaoxi Village, Guangdong Province, China. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with three informants from different generations, and field documentation, then analyzed descriptively and interpretively based on ritual theory, symbolic theory, the Chinese clan system, and cultural identity studies. The findings show that the tradition involves stages such as preparing New Year necessities, house cleaning, putting up Chunlian (春联), ancestor veneration, and the reunion dinner (年夜饭), with Chunlian as the most prominent symbol of hope and fortune. Core values include family reunion (tuanyuan, 团圆), ancestor respect, and Confucian values such as filial piety and benevolence. These findings imply that Chinese New Year traditions serve as an effective mechanism for sustaining clan identity and cultural continuity across generations.
