Dirasat accepts high quality manuscripts resulting from research projects within the scope of the Quran and Tafsir which include but are not limited to the following topics Quran and Tafsir Studies Hadith Islamic Education Islamic Thought Arabic as well as various disciplines relevant to the development of Islamic studies. Manuscripts must be original research written in English or Indonesian and not submitted concurrently to other journals or conferences. The editors accept contributions of articles in Indonesian containing 2500 to 5000 words and not yet published by other media. Citations use APA style.

Abstract

The Qur'an pays attention to the environment. and give a strong warning to humans if they cause damage. The focus of the article is how the Al-Qur'an interprets verses related to environmental destruction; and what are the terms regarding environmental destruction in the Koran. The current research focus is literature. The main source of this research is the Koran. Secondary sources are the tafsir books of the ulama. In conclusion, the terms used in the Qur'an related to environmental damage are fas?d and halaka. The term fas?d has several meanings including; deviant and useless behavior, disorder/disorder, destructive behavior, neglect or not caring, environmental damage. The term halaka also has several meanings, including: loss of something from oneself, wasting one's possessions, loss or disadvantage, destruction in the form of natural damage, death or passing away, fan?' or the opposite of baq?', destruction and collective destruction. The Qur'anic terms used as causes of environmental damage include: tabzir, israf, itraf.

Abstract

This research is focused on finding out how the prophet disseminate the emotional and spiritual intelligence as it is explained in al-Qur’an, especially in Surah al-Anbiya’. The using method is qualitative one by collecting data from several references in Tafsir. Besides, the researcher referred to some books related to the topic even from Islamic view or Western view. The researcher concluded that there are four ways to disseminate the emotional intelligence. Those ways are through self-control, praying toward God, admitting the mistakes and patience. Besides, in order to disseminate the spiritual intelligence, the researcher found that there are three ways of doing so, by having true knowledge especially it is about God, realizing that all great things are from God, and be closed to Him.

Abstract

The Al-Qur'an is a guide of all time, the most appropriate and the most perfect so that if all the commands contained in it are enforced and carried out seriously by all parties, then every member of society will feel the joy of life. One of the concepts in the Koran is justice, the form of wisdom contained in it is realizing unity and brotherhood, fostering harmonious relationships and closeness among society. Apart from having a deep meaning, justice has various forms covering all aspects of life, such as: justice towards oneself, justice in the household, justice in society, justice in government and the judiciary, justice in guardianship, justice in the economy, justice in testimony, justice in peace, and justice even towards enemies.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the urgency of the stories in the Al-Qur'an, their benefits and educational influence. To make this happen, researchers used inductive and analytical methods by tracing the verses of the Koran and analyzing them, supported by what their predecessors had written. This research has come to the conclusion that the story in the Qur'an is important because Allah Himself revealed it, ordered His prophet to tell it, it is the best story, and it is the real embodiment of a value. The stories in the Koran have a number of great benefits. Namely, strengthening the heart, confirming the truth of the message, and that it comes from Allah, establishing the pillars of religion, being ibrah and to straighten one's morals. As the stories in the Koran also have a very deep educational influence. Namely, broadening the scope of insight, forming a spirit of imitation, ensuring that a value can be realized, knowing the reasons for the progress and destruction of nations, and upgrading tastes.

Abstract

Infallibility is established for the prophets and apostles, as proven by the texts of the Koran and strong scientific reasoning. Infallibility is God's protection against them from falling into sin, immorality, transgression, and committing evil and forbidden acts after being sent, according to the agreement of pious researchers, and before being sent, according to evidence. How could our Lord command men to follow them, imitate them, and follow their ways if they were not examples of perfection, examples of virtue, nobility, and holiness? If infallibility were not one of their characteristics, then we would not be obliged to follow them in all actions and deeds. As for the texts of the Shari'a which indicate the existence of sins and violations committed by some of the prophets -may Allah have mercy on them-, then this can be understood as follows: Firstly, this is not a sin, but rather an action that is contrary to the first, or an error in judgment. Assuming that it was a transgression or sin, then it must have occurred before prophethood.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Generasi Z (Gen Z), yang lahir antara pertengahan 1990-an hingga awal 2010-an, tumbuh dalam lingkungan digital yang serba cepat dan terhubung, namun menghadapi tantangan serius terkait kesehatan mental seperti depresi, kecemasan, dan ketergantungan teknologi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep pemaafan (forgiveness) dalam perspektif Al-Qur’an dan Hadits, serta relevansinya sebagai mekanisme koping spiritual dalam menjaga kesehatan mental Gen Z. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka, artikel ini menelaah makna pemaafan berdasarkan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an seperti QS. An-Nur: 22, QS. Ali Imran: 134, dan QS. Yusuf: 92 serta beberapa hadits shahih, yang menunjukkan bahwa memaafkan merupakan bagian dari akhlak mulia, sarana pengendalian emosi, dan jalan menuju ampunan Allah. Kisah-kisah tokoh Islam seperti Abu Bakar RA dan Aisyah RA dijadikan rujukan historis bagaimana pemaafan diterapkan secara konkret dalam kehidupan sosial. Temuan artikel ini menegaskan bahwa pemaafan bukan hanya ajaran moral, tetapi juga strategi spiritual yang efektif dalam mengatasi konflik interpersonal, mengelola emosi negatif, dan membentuk ketahanan psikologis pada Generasi Z. Oleh karena itu, integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam pendidikan emosional menjadi langkah penting dalam mencetak generasi yang sehat secara mental dan tangguh secara spiritual.

Abstract

The paradigm shift in the composition of Qur’anic exegesis from individual works to collective or institutional efforts, along with the involvement of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in publishing exegetical works, indicates the presence of power relations in the production of tafsir. Qur’anic interpretation cannot be separated from the worldview of the exegete, which means the style and ideology of a tafsir are heavily influenced by the interpreter and their understanding of the surrounding socio-political realities. The theme of religious moderation in the Thematic Qur'anic Exegesis represents the manifestation of implementing the government’s programs and mission by the Ministry of Religious Affairs as an institution responsible for religious development. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, with the research objects being articles indexed in Google Scholar, selecting literature from scientific publications in journals using the keywords "religious moderation, thematic tafsir, power relations." The result of this research is the identification of twenty-one journal articles that focus on the issue of power relations in the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ tafsir.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at Islamic Boarding School (MA Syamsul Huda) with a focus on integrating traditional values and modern approaches. Using descriptive qualitative methods through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document study, the study found that the developed learning model successfully combined classical Islamic boarding school methods (sorogan, bandongan, tahfizh) with modern learning techniques. However, the use of technology is still limited to basic tools such as projectors, facing infrastructure constraints and concerns about reducing the depth of religious understanding. Key findings indicate a gap between the needs of digital native students for technology-based interactive learning and teachers' preferences for traditional methods. The study identified significant potential for a blended learning model that combines face-to-face learning with digital content such as tahfizh applications, religious study videos, and virtual reality simulations. The results emphasize the importance of an evolutionary approach to technology integration, with recommendations for teacher training, infrastructure development, and the design of authentic digital content. The implications of this study indicate that the transformation of Islamic boarding school-based PAI learning in the digital era requires a balance between maintaining core values and adopting pedagogical innovation. These findings provide a conceptual framework for developing a model of religious education that maintains the character of Islamic boarding schools while being relevant to learning needs.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in schools faces challenges in delivering engaging content in the digital era. Augmented Reality (AR) emerges as a potential innovation to address this issue by offering an interactive and immersive learning experience. Based on the concept of constructivism, AR enables students to directly interact with learning objects, such as visualizations of Qur’anic verses and worship practices, fostering experiential learning and deeper understanding. The implementation of AR has proven to enhance interaction between teachers and students, making discussions more dynamic and learning more effective. However, the adoption of AR in PAI is not without obstacles. Major challenges include limited technological infrastructure in many schools, digital competency gaps among teachers and students, and the lack of IT support staff. In addition, there are difficulties in developing AR content that is both relevant and accurate in accordance with Islamic values, the high cost of implementation, and cultural or ethical resistance rooted in concerns about preserving spirituality. Integrating AR into an already dense curriculum and designing appropriate assessment methods also pose significant difficulties.To overcome these challenges, collaboration among educators is crucial in developing effective solutions that align with Islamic values. Therefore, AR holds the potential to be a transformative tool—not only enhancing the quality of Islamic Religious Education, but also shaping a generation that is both technologically literate and spiritually grounded with a deep understanding of Islam.

Abstract

The moral crisis affecting modern society, particularly the younger generation, poses a significant challenge for contemporary Islamic education. This article aims to examine the relevance of Ibn Khaldun’s educational thought in shaping moral character within the framework of modern Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study explores the Islamic concept of morality and Ibn Khaldun's view of education, which emphasizes not only the transfer of knowledge but also the formation of character. Ibn Khaldun advocates for a holistic education—encompassing intellectual, social, and spiritual dimensions—to develop individuals with noble character. The study finds that Ibn Khaldun’s ideas are highly relevant for addressing today’s moral crisis by promoting values such as honesty, justice, and responsibility in a balanced approach between worldly and spiritual aspects.
