Abstract

Background: The application of potassium humate has been recognized for its potential to enhance plant growth and yield due to its nutrient enrichment properties. Specific Background: Despite extensive research on various fertilizers, the specific effects of potassium humate on red cabbage (Ruby King cultivar) growth and yield, especially concerning the method of application, remain underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies have addressed the comparative impact of foliar spraying versus soil addition of potassium humate on cabbage vegetative growth and yield characteristics. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different concentrations of potassium humate (0, 50, 100, 150 g.l-1) and application methods (foliar spraying and soil addition) on the growth and yield of red cabbage. Results: A randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications was implemented during the 2022-2023 agricultural season. Significant improvements in vegetative growth and yield were observed with the highest concentration (150 g.l-1) of foliar spraying. Key vegetative and yield parameters, such as plant height, stem length, number of leaves, leaf chlorophyll content, average head weight, and total yield, were positively influenced. Novelty: This study uniquely highlights the superior efficacy of foliar spraying with potassium humate at 150 g.l-1 over soil addition, providing insights into optimizing fertilization strategies for red cabbage. Implications: The findings advocate for the use of potassium humate, particularly via foliar spraying, as a beneficial organic fertilizer to enhance red cabbage growth and yield. This practice could lead to improved agricultural productivity and better tolerance of plants to environmental stresses, supporting sustainable agriculture initiatives. Abstract

General Background: Final-year senior high school students face academic and psychological demands requiring adaptive coping resources to maintain positive psychological functioning. Specific Background: Grade XII students often experience anxiety and stress related to graduation examinations and future educational decisions, which may contribute to negative emotional conditions. Knowledge Gap: Empirical evidence regarding the combined relationship between social support, optimism, and subjective well-being among Indonesian final-year students remains limited. Aims: This study examined the relationship between social support and optimism with subjective well-being among grade XII students at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo. Results: Using a quantitative correlational design involving 191 students, data were collected through adapted subjective well-being, social support, and optimism scales. Multiple correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship between social support and optimism with subjective well-being, with an R square value of 0.268. Partial correlation analysis also showed significant positive relationships between social support and subjective well-being (r = 0.321, p < 0.05) and optimism and subjective well-being (r = 0.460, p < 0.05). Novelty: This study provides quantitative evidence of the combined and partial relationships between psychosocial resources and student subjective well-being in Indonesian secondary education. Implications: The findings support strengthening social and psychological support systems within schools and families to promote positive student psychological conditions. Abstract

Background: The implementation of the de minimis value rule, which sets a threshold for import duty exemptions on small shipments, significantly influences national trade dynamics and fiscal policies. Despite global integration and economic transactions escalating, effective customs regulations remain pivotal for controlling import activities and enhancing revenue. Knowledge Gap: Prior research has primarily focused on the implications of the de minimis rule on import volumes and compliance, leaving a gap regarding its impact on revenue targets and administrative practices at the customs office level. Aims: This study aims to explore the strategies employed by KPPBC TMP Juanda in achieving revenue targets influenced by the de minimis value policy. Methods: Utilizing qualitative research methods, including interviews, observation, and documentation, this research engages directly with three customs officials at KPPBC TMP Juanda, analyzing data with NVivo12Plus. Results: The findings indicate that while the de minimis value does not control the surge in import activities, it assists in increasing revenue and meeting fiscal targets. Novelty: This study provides new insights into how customs policies adapted at the local office level can contribute to national fiscal strategies under global trade pressures. Implications: The outcomes underscore the necessity for continuous policy evaluation to balance trade facilitation with fiscal responsibility, suggesting enhancements in customs operations to optimize revenue without stifling economic growth. Abstract

Background: Cholera, caused by Vibrio cholerae, is a significant global health concern, particularly in regions with poor sanitation. Specific Background: This study focuses on V. cholerae strains isolated from cholera patients in Al-Nasiriyah city, Iraq, where limited genetic studies have been conducted. Knowledge Gap: Despite extensive research on V. cholerae, little is known about the genetic makeup of strains from Al-Nasiriyah city and their plasmid content, which traditionally correlates with antibiotic resistance and virulence. Aims: This research aimed to characterize the genetic and antibiotic resistance traits of V. cholerae strains from cholera patients in Al-Nasiriyah city and to determine the presence of plasmids using advanced molecular techniques. Results: Contrary to expectations, our study identified V. cholerae strains devoid of plasmids and exhibiting a stable genetic profile across two chromosomes, with sizes ranging from 1 to 3 million base pairs. Novelty: Our findings challenge conventional wisdom by demonstrating the absence of plasmids in local V. cholerae strains and highlighting their unique genetic architecture. Implications: This study underscores the importance of genomic diversity studies in understanding V. cholerae epidemiology and guiding public health strategies. Future research should explore larger strain cohorts and conduct comparative genomic analyses to elucidate the broader implications of genetic variability on cholera outbreaks and treatment strategies. Abstract

General Background: Career planning during adolescence represents a critical developmental task requiring students to determine future educational and occupational pathways. Specific Background: High school students frequently experience uncertainty regarding post-graduation options due to limited knowledge of career pathways, parental expectations, and low confidence in evaluating personal abilities. Knowledge Gap: Although self-efficacy is widely recognized as a factor related to vocational decision processes, empirical evidence examining structured training programs designed to develop self-efficacy among Indonesian high school students remains limited. Aims: This study aimed to examine changes in career decision outcomes following self-efficacy training among grade XII students. Results: Using a quantitative quasi-experimental pre-post design, data were collected from 86 students at SMA Islam Sidoarjo using the adapted Career Decision Scale. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test demonstrated statistically significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores (p < .001), with median scores increasing from 43.00 to 45.00 and a large effect size (rank-biserial correlation = 0.489). The findings indicate increased confidence and improved readiness in determining future vocational plans after training implementation. Novelty: This study provides empirical evidence demonstrating measurable changes in vocational decision readiness through a structured self-efficacy training intervention within Indonesian secondary education settings. Implications: The findings support the integration of self-efficacy training into school-based career guidance programs to assist students in reducing uncertainty and strengthening preparedness for post-secondary academic or employment pathways. Abstract

Background: Drug-food interactions (DFIs) can alter drug pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, impacting patient outcomes. Health care professionals (HCPs) play a critical role in managing these interactions. Specific Background: Despite their significance, the awareness of DFIs among Iraqi medical professionals is inadequately documented. Knowledge Gap: There is a lack of comprehensive studies evaluating the knowledge of DFIs among medical professionals in Iraq, which is crucial for improving patient care and therapeutic efficacy. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge of food-drug interactions among Iraqi medical professionals, including medical students, newly graduated doctors, and junior doctors. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire with 20 questions evaluating knowledge on common DFIs. Results: The study revealed a concerning lack of knowledge about DFIs among participants, with junior doctors scoring an average of 7.1 out of 15, newly graduated doctors 6.38, and sixth-grade medical students 5.27. Only 13% felt knowledgeable about DFIs, while 31.7% acknowledged their insufficient understanding. Notably, knowledge on interactions such as tyramine-rich foods with antidepressants and grapefruit juice with statins was limited. Novelty: This study provides the first comprehensive assessment of DFI knowledge among Iraqi medical professionals, highlighting significant gaps and educational needs. Implications: The findings underscore the necessity for enhanced educational programs targeting DFIs in medical curricula, ensuring HCPs are equipped to counsel patients effectively, thereby improving patient safety and therapeutic outcomes. These results emphasize the importance of targeted educational interventions to bridge the knowledge gap, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes and informed patient care in Iraq. Abstract

General Background: Subjective well-being reflects overall life satisfaction accompanied by frequent positive emotions and minimal negative emotions, representing a crucial indicator of psychological functioning among adolescents. Specific Background: In the school context, students often face academic stressors, including examination anxiety, learning difficulties, and uncertainty about future plans, which are associated with reduced psychological comfort and happiness. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have separately examined psychological predictors of subjective well-being; however, limited research integrates optimism and academic resilience simultaneously among Indonesian high school populations. Aims: This study aimed to examine the relationship between optimism and academic resilience with subjective well-being among students at SMA Negeri 1 Krian. Results: Using a quantitative correlational design with 275 students, Pearson Product Moment analysis revealed significant positive relationships between optimism and subjective well-being (r = 0.592, p < .001) and between academic resilience and subjective well-being (r = 0.557, p < .001). Multiple linear correlation indicated that both predictors jointly accounted for 38.3% of the variance in subjective well-being. Novelty: This study integrates two psychological and academic predictors within a single correlational model focusing on Indonesian senior high school students. Implications: The findings highlight the importance of fostering positive future expectations and adaptive coping capacities to support students’ psychological satisfaction and emotional stability within academic environments, providing insights for school-based developmental and counseling programs. Abstract

General Background: The introduction of the Kurikulum Merdeka in Indonesia aims to enhance student competence and character by offering more flexible and student-centered learning approaches. Specific Background: While it promises a more inclusive and modern educational environment, the implementation poses challenges for teachers adapting to this new paradigm. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have focused on policy impacts and student outcomes, but there is limited research on the specific difficulties faced by classroom teachers during implementation. Aims: This study seeks to identify the challenges teachers encounter with the Kurikulum Merdeka and the strategies they employ to overcome these challenges. Results: Analysis of literature reveals several key issues: teachers' inadequate understanding of the curriculum's concepts, difficulty in designing student-centered learning, lack of resources, and challenges with competency-based assessments. Strategies to address these include ongoing professional development, fostering professional learning communities, leveraging technology, and developing authentic assessments. Novelty: This research contributes to the literature by focusing on teachers' perspectives, providing insights into practical challenges and solutions in implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka. Abstract

General Background: The rapid growth of AI technology is reshaping various industries, including translation, bringing both opportunities and ethical challenges. Specific Background: AI's integration into translation processes promises automation and efficiency but raises concerns about the role of human translators, translation quality, and cultural nuances. Additionally, issues like machine bias and privacy preservation are emerging as critical ethical considerations. Knowledge Gap: While much attention has been given to AI's technical advancements, there is a lack of comprehensive research addressing the ethical implications of AI in translation and its impact on professional roles and requirements. Aims: This study aims to critically review the literature on AI's impact on the translation profession and explore the ethical challenges arising from AI integration. It seeks to provide recommendations for ethical translation practices in an AI-enhanced environment. Results: Through in-depth interviews with professional translators, educators, and industry experts, the study identified key themes such as transparency in AI systems, the responsibility of human translators, bias in AI systems, and the impact on human translators. Novelty: This research offers a unique perspective by combining insights from diverse stakeholders and emphasizing ethical considerations in AI-assisted translation. Abstract

General Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) enables systems to understand and interpret data, facilitating intelligent decision-making without human interaction. Specific Background: Traditional accounting systems are fraught with flaws that compromise the quality of accounting information and decision-making processes. Knowledge Gap: There is a need for advanced AI applications to improve the accuracy of accounting data by precisely evaluating vast amounts of data, identifying errors and corrections, and accelerating financial report creation. Aims: This quantitative study aims to enhance accounting information quality by developing an AI-based accounting information system and examining its impact on the decision-making process. Results: The research utilized questionnaires to gather opinions from accountants at Rafidain Bank, Iraq, and analyzed the data using SPSS. Findings reveal that modern AI technologies significantly enhance accounting data accuracy, with a 90% success rate in detecting and correcting errors. Additionally, AI technology accelerates financial reporting, reducing the average response time to 250 milliseconds, thereby saving time and effort in accounting processes. Novelty: This study is pioneering in its comprehensive evaluation of AI's role in improving accounting data accuracy and operational efficiency within financial institutions. Implications: The research underscores the importance of upgrading device and data processing infrastructure to maximize the performance of AI-based accounting systems. The findings suggest that integrating contemporary AI technology in accounting can streamline operations, save accountants time, and boost the overall efficiency of financial and accounting institutions.
