Abstract

Modern educational institutions face challenges in managing complex information technologyinfrastructure with limited resources. This research examines the implementation of virtualizationtechnology using Proxmox Virtual Environment to optimize server management, computer networks, and internet services in higher education environments. The research method uses a case studyapproach with data collection through direct observation, interviews with 12 informants, systemdocumentation, and performance monitoring over 6 months. The results show that ProxmoxVEimplementation can increase hardware resource ef iciency by up to 70 percent with CPUutilizationincreasing from 22 percent to 50-55 percent. Physical server consolidation from 12 units to3host servers successfully reduced operational costs by 45 percent or $35,650 per year. Service availabilityincreased significantly from 96.8 percent to 99.5 percent with Mean Time To Recovery reducedfrom4 hours to 45 minutes. Cost-benefit analysis shows Return on Investment achieved in 2.9 years withprojected Total Cost of Ownership savings of $73,250 over a 5-year period. This research providespractical contributions in the form of virtualization architecture blueprints and implementationguidelines that can be adopted by other educational institutions with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Identifying functional requirements is a crucial stage in information system development because it determines the suitability of the system to user needs. Errors at this stage can cause the entire system to fail. This study aims to analyze the role of Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) in identifying the functional requirements of information systems in a systematic and structured manner. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study and system model analysis approach. Data was collected through a review of system design documents and process modeling using DFD, including context diagrams, level 0 DFD, and advanced level DFD. The results show that DFDs are capable of clearly depicting data flows, processes, and interactions between entities, thereby facilitating system analysts in identifying the main functions of the system and user requirements. Thus, the use of DFDs plays an important role in minimizing errors in requirements analysis and improving the quality of information system design.

Abstract

The development of information technology presents challenges in managing computer network infrastructure related to resource efficiency and system scalability. This research aims to analyze the performance of computer networks using virtualization technology based on a literature review of previous studies. The research method uses a systematic literature review approach by analyzing 16 scientific publications from international and national journals from the period 2010-2025. The study results show that virtualization has a throughput overhead of 3-7% and latency of 5-10%, but provides resource efficiency of up to 60-80% with an increase in CPU utilization from 15-20% to 70-85%. The trade-off between minimal performance degradation and significant efficiency gains makes virtualization an optimal solution for modern IT infrastructure. This research provides practical recommendations for organizations in adopting virtualization technology

Abstract

Waste management issues in Indonesia are rooted in the low level of public understanding regarding waste sorting by type. Conventional education often fails to create engagement, leaving the community unmotivated to practice sorting at the source. This research aims to provide a solution through the application of the Game-Based Learning (GBL) method as an interactive educational medium. The GBL method transforms waste classification materials (organic, inorganic, and hazardous waste) into fun and easy-to-understand game mechanics. Through interactive simulations, players are presented with challenges and instant feedback capable of enhancing information retention and cognitive abilities in virtual waste sorting. The research results are expected to demonstrate that the integration of game elements significantly increases community engagement and understanding compared to static counseling methods. This approach will result in game designs and prototypes developed within the Unity application.

Abstract

Social media is a platform for a vast network of friends. Friendship networks on social media are usually represented in the form of graphs. One of the main features of social media is friend recommendations. This research is a literature study on methods that can be used to provide friend recommendations on social media. To provide accurate friend recommendations on social media, certain methods derived from graph theory are required. Some of the methods discussed include centrality, similarity, trust value, and community detection. Based on the literature study, the steps for building a friend recommendation system include data collection, graph construction, graph structure analysis, application of similarity and trust value, and system evaluation. With these methods, it is hoped that the recommended friends will be more accurate and suit the user needs.
