Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of performance allowances, communication, and work motivation on employee performance at the Polonia Class 1 Immigration Office. This study employed a quantitative approach, which is structured and quantifies data for generalizability. The sample size was 72 respondents. Based on the results of the t-test, it can be concluded that performance allowances influence employee performance, communication influences employee performance, and work motivation influences employee performance. Based on the results of the F-test, it can be concluded that simultaneously, performance allowances, communication, and work motivation have a significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination analysis yielded an Adjusted R Square of 0.683, meaning that 68.3% of employee performance can be explained by performance allowances, communication, and work motivation. The remaining 31.7% (100% - 68.3%) can be explained by other variables not examined in this study.

The results showed that leverage had a significant effect on earnings quality, but company size and liquidity did not have a significant effect on earnings quality. The results of the moderation test showed that profitability was able to moderate the relationship between leverage and earnings quality but was unable to moderate the relationship between liquidity and capital structure with earnings quality.

Abstract

The performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is strategically important for economic development, yet their macroeconomic contribution is not always accompanied by optimal firm-level performance. In Sunggal District, some MSMEs continue to experience stagnant revenue growth, limited customer expansion, and minimal business expansion. These problems are associated with weaknesses in financial management, business record-keeping, compliance with financing requirements, and the productive use of external funding. This condition suggests that access to financing alone may not translate into better business performance when it is not supported by adequate financial literacy. This study aims to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of financial literacy and People's Business Credit (KUR) financing access on MSME performance in Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed. Primary data were collected through questionnaires from 93 MSME owners selected using purposive sampling and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings show that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on MSME performance. KUR financing access also has a positive and significant effect on MSME performance. Simultaneously, both variables significantly contribute to MSME performance, with financial literacy demonstrating the more dominant contribution. The findings imply that improving MSME performance requires more than expanding access to capital; it also requires strengthening entrepreneurs' capacity to plan, allocate, and control financial resources so that external financing can be used productively and sustainably.
