Abstract

The digital era has brought significant changes in the way humans interact, including among students in Islamic boarding schools. Social media has become a new space that challenges the ethical values of Islam taught in the yellow book. This article aims to analyze how the principles of fiqh in the yellow book can be used as a reference in shaping the ethics of students in social media. The method used is qualitative-descriptive based on literature studies of classical books such as Ta'limul Muta'allim, Bidayatul Hidayah, and Ihya Ulumuddin, and is strengthened by the views of contemporary scholars and fatwas of authoritative institutions. The results show that values such as tabayyun, husnuzhan, ghibah prohibition, and communication manners have strong relevance to the current social media dynamics. The integration of the yellow book into digital ethics learning in pesantren is a solution to form the character of students who are wise in interacting online.

Abstract

The moral crisis among today’s youth has become a serious concern in both educational and societal contexts. Phenomena such as a lack of respect for parents, increasing deviant behavior, and the erosion of values like honesty and responsibility indicate that education must go beyond cognitive development and emphasize ethics as the foundation of character. This article explores the role of ethical education as a practical solution to the moral challenges faced by adolescents. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and case analysis, this study highlights the importance of an integrative model involving schools, families, and communities. The findings show that when ethical values such as justice, empathy, honesty, and responsibility are instilled consistently, teenagers are more likely to develop positive attitudes toward themselves and others. Ethical education should not only be part of the curriculum but must also become a cultural practice in character formation. Therefore, cross-sector collaboration is essential to establish an ethical and impactful educational system that prepares youth to face moral challenges responsibly.

Abstract

The mental health crisis among students has become a serious challenge for educational institutions, particularly in the post-pandemic era which has introduced new psychosocial pressures. This study aims to explore the role of school leadership in responding to the mental health crisis among students at Madrasah Aliyah Al Amiriyyah and to identify best practices implemented. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the madrasah leadership adopted an emergency response approach through cross-functional collaboration involving guidance counselors, homeroom teachers, and parents. The principal played a key role in fostering a school culture that is empathetic and supportive of students’ mental health. This aligns with Michael Fullan’s (2007) view that effective educational leaders are those who can guide change within complex systems with a focus on learning and well-being. Additionally, Suyatno (2016) emphasized that transformative leadership in the context of Islamic education is marked by moral and spiritual commitment to nurturing students' character and well-being. Best practices implemented include teacher training in early detection of psychological disorders, the integration of spiritual values into counseling, and the formation of an internal school crisis response team. This study underscores the importance of collaborative and spiritually grounded leadership in addressing mental health crises within religious educational institutions.

Abstract

This study examines the main factors causing teacher placement mismatch with their field of expertise and formulates policy and technology-based solutions to overcome it. The purpose of this study is to identify the main causes of the problem, such as the imbalance in teacher distribution, recruitment and transfer policies that are not based on competency, and the lack of adaptation training programs for teachers who teach outside their fields. This study uses a mixed-method approach with data collection techniques in the form of surveys, big data analysis, in-depth interviews, and case studies of teachers and policy makers in the education sector. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical techniques, logistic regression, and policy analysis. The results of the study show that the uneven distribution of teachers causes many teachers in remote areas to teach outside their fields, while in urban areas there is a surplus of teachers in certain subjects. In addition, recruitment and transfer policies that emphasize administrative aspects without considering teacher expertise worsen the mismatch in teaching. The lack of adaptation training programs for teachers who experience a mismatch in their teaching fields also has an impact on the quality of learning. Therefore, this study recommends an equal distribution of teachers based on the real needs of schools, improvements to competency-based transfer policies, and the provision of adaptive training programs for teachers to improve the overall quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the dynamics of transformational leadership in digital schools, focusing on the tension between the innovations offered and the potential threats to traditional values in education. The background of this study is the shift in the educational paradigm due to massive digitalization, which requires principals to adapt to a more flexible, visionary, and technology-based leadership model. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and education personnel in five digital schools in large cities and semi-urban areas. The results of the study show that transformational leadership encourages the creation of technology-based learning innovations, increased teacher participation, and accelerated decision-making. However, resistance also emerged from some senior teachers who felt that values such as conventional discipline, etiquette, and social hierarchy were starting to be marginalized. This study contributes to the literature on educational leadership by showing that the success of transformational leadership in digital schools is highly dependent on the leader's ability to maintain a balance between technology adoption and the preservation of deep-rooted educational values. These findings can be a reference for policy makers and education practitioners in designing adaptive and sustainable leadership strategies in the digital era.
