Abstract

Poverty remains a serious issue in Indonesia and poses a significant burden, particularly due to the widening gap between the rich and the poor. Based on data from the Bali Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS), Karangasem Regency recorded the highest poverty rate in 2023. The poverty rate affects regional economic performance, highlighting the urgent need to address poverty alleviation efforts in Bali Province. This study aims to: (1) analyze the effects of education level, regional original income (PAD), employment, and investment on economic growth in regencies/cities of Bali Province; (2) analyze the effects of education level, PAD, employment, investment, and economic growth on poverty levels in regencies/cities of Bali Province; and (3) analyze the indirect effects of education level, PAD, employment, and investment on poverty through economic growth. The data used are panel data spanning eleven years, from 2013 to 2023, with a total of 90 observations. The analytical method employed is path analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that education level, PAD, and employment have a positive and significant effect on economic growth. However, investment has a negative and significant effect on economic growth. Furthermore, economic growth, education level, PAD, and investment have a negative and significant effect on poverty levels, while employment does not have a significant negative effect. In addition, education level, local original income (PAD), working population, and investment have an indirect effect on poverty through economic growth. These findings suggest that improving these factors can stimulate economic growth while simultaneously reducing poverty in Bali Province.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the culinary sector, play a crucial role in supporting regional economic growth, especially in Denpasar City, which serves as the center of economic and tourism activities in Bali Province. The advancement of digital technology, urbanization, and shifting consumption patterns require MSME actors to adapt rapidly and innovatively in order to increase their business income. This study aims to examine the simultaneous and partial effects of e-commerce, pricing, capital, business training, and regional origin on the income of culinary MSMEs in Denpasar City. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires distributed to 100 culinary MSME business owners in Denpasar. This study employed a non-probability sampling method using accidental sampling as the sampling technique. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The findings reveal that, simultaneously, e-commerce, price, capital, business training, and regional origin have a significant effect on MSME income. Partially, the variables of e-commerce, price, capital, and business training have a positive and significant influence on MSME income. Culinary MSMEs originating from Denpasar City tend to have higher incomes compared to those from outside the city.

Abstract

The People’s Business Credit (KUR) is a subsidized financing instrument initiated by the Indonesian government aimed at increasing access to capital for eligible but unbankable entrepreneurs. However, in practice, the distribution of KUR still faces targeting challenges due to adverse selection, which arises from information asymmetry among the government, financial institutions, and borrowers. This study aims to identify the presence of adverse selection in KUR distribution across Indonesia, which potentially leads to mistargeting in the subsidized credit market. The study utilizes data from the March 2024 National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) with a total sample of 65,535 households. The analysis employs binary logistic regression, simultaneous testing, partial testing, and marginal effect estimation. Data collection was conducted using a non-participant observation technique. The results indicate that all research variables—business ownership, region, savings account ownership, asset ownership, main income source, and occupation—simultaneously have a significant effect on the probability of a household becoming a KUR recipient. The findings also reveal that access to KUR, particularly for micro and small enterprises (MSEs), remains limited despite being the primary target of the program. Furthermore, the presence of adverse selection is identified, wherein households with existing assets are more likely to obtain KUR financing. This highlights the need for policy reforms in the KUR distribution mechanism to ensure that eligible productive businesses without additional collateral can access financing in a fair and inclusive manner across all regions of Indonesia.

Abstract

Income inequality remains one of the primary challenges in achieving sustainable economic development, particularly in regions endowed with abundant resources but facing uneven income distribution. South Sulawesi Province is recognized as a key economic growth center in Eastern Indonesia; however, it still ranks among the provinces with the highest levels of income inequality nationwide. This study aims to analyze the effect of economic growth and the Human Development Index (HDI) on income inequality across 24 regencies/municipalities in South Sulawesi Province over the period 2014–2023. The analytical method employed is panel data regression using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The findings reveal that, simultaneously, both independent variables have a significant effect on income inequality. Partially, HDI has a significant negative effect, while economic growth does not significantly influence income inequality. These results highlight that enhancing human capital and ensuring equitable distribution of development outcomes are key to reducing income inequality at the regional level. The study provides policy implications for local governments to focus more on human resource development and the equalization of development across regions.

Abstract

Community mobility requires adequate transportation services. The rapid advancement of technology has led to the emergence of online transportation, particularly application-based services that simplify access to mobility. One prominent example is online motorcycle taxis, such as Gojek, which not only offer transportation and delivery services but also create job opportunities with flexible working hours as a key attraction. The income earned by Gojek drivers is determined by various factors, including fares, working hours, the number of transactions completed, and performance-based incentives. This study investigates how these fares, working hours, number of transactions, and incentives affect the income of Gojek drivers in Denpasar City. This study aims to examine the influence of fares, working hours, number of transactions, and incentives on the income of Gojek drivers in Denpasar City, both simultaneously and individually, and to identify the most dominant factor affecting their income. The research was conducted in Denpasar City with a sample of 96 Gojek drivers selected through a convenience (incidental) sampling technique. Primary data were collected through observation, structured and unstructured interviews, as well as documentation. The research data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, supported by classical assumption tests, F-tests to assess the joint significance of the variables, t-tests to evaluate individual variable effects, and a dominance test to identify the most influential factor. The results show that fares, working hours, number of transactions, and incentives together significantly affect the income of Gojek drivers. In partial analysis, fares, number of transactions, and incentives show a positive and significant effect on income, whereas working hours have a positive but statistically insignificant influence. Among all the variables analyzed, the number of transactions is identified as the most dominant factor influencing the income of Gojek drivers in Denpasar City.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has significantly transformed the field of information systems, directly affecting the performance of organizations. The implementation of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) has become a crucial strategy in achieving organizational goals. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of information technology advancement, user techniques, and training on the effectiveness of AIS. The research was conducted on 20 Savings and Loan Cooperatives (SLCs) in Jembrana Regency. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling, specifically purposive sampling, with the criteria being active cooperatives that have implemented computer-based AIS. Data were collected using a questionnaire, resulting in 60 respondent answers, and were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 26. The results indicate that information technology advancement, user techniques, and training have a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of AIS. The implications of this research highlight the importance of enhancing information technology advancements, ongoing training, and the development of user skills to improve the effectiveness of accounting information systems, thereby supporting the performance of savings and loan cooperatives and contributing to local economic growth. This study serves as empirical evidence for the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), which explains how factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions contribute to the acceptance and use of accounting information systems.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of understanding the factors that influence community income in Serangan Tourism Village. The objective of this research is to analyze the role of social capital in moderating the effect of individual characteristics on community income. This study is expected to provide deeper insight into the dynamics occurring within this sector and to support the development of more effective policies. The research employs a quantitative approach using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method. Data analysis was conducted to examine the effect of the independent variable (individual characteristics) on the dependent variable (community income), and the moderating role of social capital in altering the strength or direction of the relationship between individual characteristics and community income. The results reveal that individual characteristics (X) have a significant effect on the income of the community in Serangan Tourism Village (Y). The MRA test indicates that social capital, acting as a moderating variable, weakens the effect of individual characteristics on income. This finding highlights the importance of developing strong social networks, trust, and collaboration to improve access to information that can enhance income generation. Nevertheless, individual characteristics remain essential as a fundamental basis for individuals to earn income.
