Abstract

This study examines the role of Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPQ) in developing children’s spiritual values at Masjid Al Ikhlas, Jalan Semangka 3, Panorama Subdistrict, Singgaran Pati District, Bengkulu City. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to explore spiritual development practices implemented through nonformal Islamic education. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers and administrators, and documentation of learning activities. The findings reveal that TPQ contributes significantly to children’s spiritual formation through Qur’anic learning, worship habituation, moral guidance, and exemplary behavior demonstrated by educators. Learning activities emphasize value internalization, religious discipline, and character development rather than cognitive mastery alone. Support from the mosque environment, parental involvement, and community participation strengthens the effectiveness of spiritual education. The study concludes that TPQ functions as an essential nonformal educational institution in fostering children’s spiritual awareness, moral conduct, and consistent religious practice.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in strengthening moral development among students in the multicultural environment of SMP Negeri 15 Bengkulu City. The objectives are to analyze students’ moral issues, describe moral development strategies based on PAI, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that PAI significantly contributes to moral development through dialogical learning, contextual material delivery, teacher role modeling, and structured religious programs such as congregational prayers and daily worship practices. The multicultural environment also fosters tolerance and respect for diversity. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including digital behavior, cultural differences, and limited parental involvement. Overall, PAI plays a strategic role in shaping students’ moral awareness, discipline, and social harmony in a multicultural school setting.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership of the school principal in improving the quality of teaching staff at MAN 1 Mandailing Natal. The research method used is qualitative, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that: (1) The principal enhances teacher quality by developing work programs, establishing organizational structures, and involving teachers and staff in decision-making through deliberation; (2) The challenges faced include limited opportunities for teachers to attend training programs, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and some teachers’ difficulties in utilizing available resources effectively; (3) Efforts made by the principal include organizing teacher training, sending teachers to participate in professional development programs, forming Subject Teacher Forums (MGMP), motivating teachers through rewards, and conducting supervision of both teaching practices and administrative activities. This study emphasizes that participatory leadership and a focus on teacher competence development are crucial factors in improving the quality of education at MAN 1 Mandailing Natal.

Abstract

Learning is a fundamental task in education aimed at supporting and improving students’ learning quality. This study seeks to examine the role of the principal as a visionary leader in enhancing educational management quality at SMP Negeri 6 Kuala Tungkal. The research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with verification. The findings reveal that visionary leadership has been implemented in the school but has not yet reached its optimal level. The challenges include limited opportunities for teachers to attend training programs, the presence of teachers whose academic background is not in education, and insufficient facilities and infrastructure to support effective learning. Therefore, the principal as a visionary leader needs to take initiatives such as recruiting qualified teachers with appropriate academic backgrounds, strengthening centers of excellence, and improving facilities and infrastructure to ensure more effective educational management.

Abstract

The kiai as the leader of an Islamic boarding school has distinctive characteristics in shaping the religious character of students (santri). This study aims to examine the leadership of the kiai in shaping the religious character of students at Pondok Pesantren Azzakariyah, Muaro Panco Timur Village, Merangin Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data sources included the boarding school leader, teachers (ustadz/ustadzah), caregivers, and students. The findings reveal that: (1) Religious character development programs are implemented through daily activities such as congregational prayers, dhuha prayers, Qur’an recitation, muhadharah, and classical Islamic text (kitab kuning) studies; (2) The kiai’s leadership style is democratic and charismatic, reflected in his firmness and openness in decision-making, egalitarian social relations with teachers, and parental-like relationships with students; (3) Supporting factors in shaping students’ religious character include the role of teachers, organizational activities, family involvement, and the application of rewards and punishments, while inhibiting factors include students’ lack of self-awareness, family cultural influences, and students who are difficult to manage and tend to involve parents when sanctions are imposed.

Abstract

The implementation of management information systems in administrative services plays a crucial role in supporting technological advancement in Islamic junior high schools (madrasah tsanawiyah). This study aims to describe the challenges in implementing management information systems at MTsN 8 Muaro Jambi. A qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of management information systems in administrative services has not been fully optimized. Supporting factors include easier access to data for service delivery, while obstacles involve limited facilities and infrastructure, insufficient skills among educators, and the continued use of manual student registration. Efforts to overcome these challenges include improving facilities and infrastructure, enhancing educators’ competencies, and applying online student registration systems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of school principals’ managerial competence in improving the quality of teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Sarolangun. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the principal has effectively implemented managerial competence, as reflected in the improvement of teachers’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The principal plays a crucial role in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating programs to enhance teacher quality. The implementation of managerial competence contributes to the development of professional, adaptive teachers who are oriented toward improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze management efficiency at SMAN 11 Batanghari and to identify the factors that influence it. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, vice principal, teachers, and the management team. The findings reveal that the principal demonstrates high integrity in both mental and physical aspects, accompanied by strong self-concentration, which serves as a key asset in managing time and utilizing unique capacities optimally. Factors influencing management efficiency include individual characteristics, work focus, availability of facilities, relationships between the management team and teachers, professionalism, and academic background. These results highlight that management efficiency in schools is strongly determined by the leadership of the principal, the quality of human resources, and adequate infrastructural support.

Abstract

This study examines public relations management in enhancing the image of Madrasah Aliyah Swasta (MAS) Azzakariyah. The purpose of this research is to analyze how public relations are managed to build a positive institutional image. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, vice principal for public relations, teachers, parents, and students. The findings reveal that improving the school’s image is essential to increase community satisfaction and create a positive impression, which contributes to students’ and alumni’s moral development and their integration into social, economic, and political life. Public relations management is carried out through three stages: (1) Planning, by collaborating with parents to establish an effective school image; (2) Implementation, through social engagement and cooperation with the community; (3) Evaluation, by conducting meetings with parents to resolve conflicts. The main factors supporting the enhancement of the school’s image are non-physical identity aspects, such as the school’s history, the reputation of its leadership, and students’ politeness in practicing the knowledge they have acquired.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in improving school competitiveness in the disruption era. The research employed a qualitative approach through literature review and case studies in educational institutions. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with school stakeholders, and documentation related to quality management policies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that effective TQM implementation is supported by five main dimensions: adaptive transformational leadership, customer satisfaction orientation, continuous data-based improvement, full involvement of human resources, and the utilization of information technology in quality management. Schools that consistently implemented TQM demonstrated improvements in accreditation, student achievement, institutional reputation, and public trust. The study concludes that the integration of TQM and technological innovation contributes to adaptive, effective, and sustainable school management in responding to the challenges of the disruption era.
