Abstract

The paper aims to study the ideas and influence of Abu’l-Walid Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Rushd (1126-1198) in inspiring the Age of Enlightenment in Europe. His philosophical works and doctrine written in early 6-12th centuries has manifested dramatic influence in the making of Western civilization as recognized in the late 18th century renaissance. The phenomenal impact of this highly Muslim contribution was seen in the cultural worldview that constitute the cornerstone of Western Europe. The study is based on qualitative approaches in the form of literature review and content analysis. The data were obtained from primary and secondary sources and analyzed by way of descriptive, analytical, thematic, hermeneutic, synthetic and historical technique. The finding shows that the works and thought of Ibn Rushd as presented in Fasl al-Maqal (The Decisive Treatise) has inspired radical intellectual transformation in European society. This paper contributes to highlight historical influence of his scientific works that constitute the cornerstone of his worldview and discuss the monumental socio-religious reform initiated by this great giant, Ibn Rushd in the political landscape of al-Andalus and the history of Western Europe.

Abstract

Mental health and bullying prevention in schools require collaborative approaches, yet the synergy between Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers remains understudied. At MTsN 3 Padang Pariaman, the lack of integration between religious and psychological approaches has hindered optimal outcomes. This research addresses this gap by exploring a collaborative model grounded in Islamic values and modern psychology. This study aims to: 1) analyze the synergistic roles of PAI and BK teachers in strengthening students’ mental health, 2) develop an Islamic value-based collaboration model for bullying prevention, and 3) provide policy recommendations for schools. A qualitative case study was employed, with data collected through interviews and observations. Thematic analysis followed Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s interactive model, focusing on condensation, display, and conclusion drawing. The collaboration significantly reduced bullying cases and enhanced mental resilience through integrated programs. Key findings include: 1) the effectiveness of combining tazkiyatun nafs (spiritual purification) with cognitive-behavioral techniques, and 2) the importance of holistic school policies. The study contributes to Islamic counseling theory and offers practical frameworks for Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in character education and its impact on student achievement at SDN 01 Pasar Kubang. The primary issue lies in the gap between the theoretical ideals of character education and its practical implementation, as observed in the school’s inconsistent student discipline and moral behavior despite existing religious programs. The research aims to: 1) analyze the role of PAI teachers in instilling character values, 2) identify the influence of character education on student achievement, and 3) recommend effective character-based PAI teaching strategies. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, then analyzed via the Miles & Huberman interactive model. Findings reveal that PAI teachers act as role models and facilitators, integrating character values through dynamic methods like group discussions and simulations, which enhance students’ academic and non-academic performance. Supportive factors include school policies and parental collaboration, while constraints involve curriculum limitations and varied student backgrounds. The study concludes that holistic character education, aligned with Islamic principles and social constructivism, significantly boosts student achievement. Recommendations include longitudinal studies and mixed-method approaches for future research.

Abstract

Quality educational services are a primary pillar in creating superior and competitive human resources in the global era. However, many educational institutions still face various challenges in managing the education system comprehensively, especially in the aspects of educational management, educators and educational staff, and students. This research was conducted to describe efforts to optimize these three components to support the improvement of educational service quality. The approach used is descriptive qualitative through a literature study of various academic sources and educational policies. The results of the study indicate that well-planned educational management, training and competency development for educators and educational staff, and continuous student development significantly contribute to the quality of educational services. Therefore, synergy and integrated management are needed so that the educational process can run effectively and be oriented towards quality improvement.

The background of this research is the unrest that occurs in the Islamic education system where the development of unusual understandings from the general habit or what is termed liberal. The terminology of the word means free to make individuals perform actions resolutely without curbing their ability to express themselves. Departing from these roots, this research seeks to fully describe liberalism in the body of Islamic education historically, its role, and its impact on education. The research design used is qualitative with a literature review method through data collection tools consisting of books, journals, proceedings, reports, and papers as primary data as well as the use of credible internet sources and documentation of efforts to analyze them. Abstract

This study aims to examine the dynamics of Islamic religious education in Indonesia from the classical to the modern era. The purpose is to understand how Islamic education has evolved in line with social, political, and cultural developments across different historical periods. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method, focusing on literature analysis from academic sources related to Islamic education. The findings show that in the classical era, Islamic education was centered in mosques and traditional boarding schools, emphasizing memorization and religious sciences. In the transitional and modern periods, there were significant developments in curriculum, institutional structure, and teaching methods. Islamic education began to integrate general sciences and respond to modern educational challenges while still maintaining its core religious identity. In the modern era, pesantren and madrasah adopted formal systems, curriculum reform, and technological tools to improve learning quality. This transformation reflects the adaptability of Islamic education to changing times without losing its foundational values. The study concludes that Islamic education in Indonesia continues to be a relevant and evolving system that balances tradition and modernity.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has revolutionized the world of education, driving the transformation of learning systems from conventional models toward more flexible and adaptive approaches. In the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0, higher education is required not only to pursue technological innovation but also to uphold humanistic values. One rapidly evolving approach is blended learning—a model that combines online and face-to-face learning methods. This approach is considered effective in enhancing flexibility, active participation, and student learning independence. However, the implementation of blended learning in Indonesia remains suboptimal due to various challenges, including limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and insufficient pedagogical readiness among lecturers. This study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review to analyze the impact of blended learning on student learning outcomes, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The findings indicate that blended learning has significant potential to improve learning outcomes, especially when supported by appropriate instructional design and adequate infrastructure. Nevertheless, the successful implementation of this model largely depends on strong institutional support, faculty training, and equitable access to technology. Therefore, blended learning should be seen not merely as a technical innovation but as a strategic transformation toward a more inclusive, effective, and sustainable higher education system in the digital era.

Abstract

This study is a comprehensive review of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in mathematics learning at MAN 1 Probolinggo City, focusing on the planning and implementation processes while identifying supporting and inhibiting factors. A qualitative descriptive method was used in this study, with key informants being mathematics teachers, Madrasah students, the Deputy Principal for Curriculum, and the Madrasah Principal. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, classroom participant observation, and document review, including the Learning Modules and Learning Objective Flow. Findings indicate that teachers adapt to Learning Outcomes in planning and developing learning modules designed to incorporate differentiated learning. Meanwhile, learning activities are implemented differently, with differences in teaching methods, media use, formative evaluation, and efforts to integrate the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Practice (PSPPS). Key supporting aspects are: teacher commitment, madrasah support, key challenges related to uneven understanding, and lack of resources. This study presents a rich picture of how madrasahs adapt to the new curriculum and includes recommendations for improving future implementation.

Abstract

Fungsi pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di sekolah sangat penting dalam membentuk karakter dan akhlak siswa. Pembelajaran PAI bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai ajaran Islam, serta mengembangkan nilai-nilai moral dan etika yang sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip agama. Selain itu, PAI juga berperan dalam memperkuat identitas keagamaan siswa, meningkatkan toleransi antarumat beragama, dan mendorong siswa untuk menerapkan ajaran Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Melalui pembelajaran PAI, siswa diajarkan tentang konsep dasar iman, ibadah, dan akhlak, serta pentingnya hubungan sosial yang baik dalam masyarakat. PAI juga berfungsi sebagai alat untuk membangun rasa tanggung jawab sosial dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran PAI tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek religius, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pengembangan karakter dan sikap positif siswa di berbagai aspek kehidupan.
