Abstract

This study aims to understand the extent to which leadership style and employee commitment influence their work behavior at Koperasi Sentral Asia, Lumajang. In this study, data was collected through questionnaires filled out by the cooperative's employees. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between the variables under study. The results show that employee commitment has a significant positive impact on their work behavior. This means that the higher the employees' commitment to the organization, the better their work behavior. On the other hand, leadership style, although tested, did not have a significant effect on work behavior. However, when both leadership style and commitment were tested simultaneously, they showed a significant impact on employees' work behavior. This indicates that although leadership style individually does not have an impact, in combination with commitment, it contributes to improving work behavior. These findings provide insights for the management of Koperasi Sentral Asia to focus more on strengthening employee commitment as a primary strategy for enhancing productivity and work behavior quality. Additionally, an approach to leadership that aligns with employees' needs should also be considered to support synergy between the two aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social interaction and knowledge management on job satisfaction, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) as a mediating variable among employees of BCA Bank in East Java in 2024. The research employs a quantitative approach, using primary data collected through an online questionnaire from 99 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) to examine the relationships between variables. The findings reveal that social interaction has a significant direct effect on job satisfaction, underscoring the importance of communication and collaboration among employees in fostering a positive work environment. Conversely, knowledge management does not exhibit a significant impact on job satisfaction, either directly or indirectly through OCB, indicating that the knowledge management strategies currently implemented are suboptimal. Furthermore, OCB fails to mediate the relationship between social interaction and knowledge management with job satisfaction. The conclusion of this study highlights the importance of adopting a more strategic approach focused on strengthening social interactions and optimizing knowledge management to enhance job satisfaction. This research offers practical implications for human resource management to cultivate a more collaborative work culture and support OCB behavior, ultimately improving employee productivity and overall well-being.

Abstract

The study examined the influence of market segmentation on the product sustainability of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) using Nestle product in South-east Nigeria as a case of reference. The specific objective was to ascertain the extent to which demographic market segmentation, geographic market segmentation, behavioural market segmentation and psychographics market segmentation influence the competitiveness of Nestle product in South-east Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was adopted in the study, on a sample respondent made up of 323 consumers of Nestlé products across South-east Nigeria. Primary data were collected from the respondents using a structured questionnaire developed in line with 5-point Likert-scale system. The analysis of the research questions was done using descriptive tools such as percentages, mean and frequency analyses. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test the four null hypotheses of the study. The findings revealed the following: demographic market segmentation significantly and positively influences the competitiveness of Nestlé products in South-East Nigeria; geographic market segmentation significantly and positively influences the competitiveness of Nestlé products in South-East Nigeria; behavioral market segmentation significantly and positively influences the competitiveness of Nestlé products in South-East Nigeria; psychographic market segmentation significantly and positively influences the competitiveness of Nestlé products in South-East Nigeria. In conclusion, a multidimensional approach to market segmentation, with particular emphasis on psychographic factors, is essential for maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness of fast-moving consumer goods like Nestlé in the dynamic market of South-East Nigeria. The study recommends that Nestlé’s product development and branding team should endeavour to align all their products with the values and lifestyles of consumers by offering products that resonate with personal values and healthy lifestyle trends, reinforcing the emotional connection with their brand.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of academic advisors in the development of student human resource (HR) competencies at the Muhammadiyah Institute of Technology, Sumatra. Academic advisors play a key role in supporting students' academic and career development, yet this role is often overlooked in the context of professional competency development. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, involving in-depth interviews with academic advisors, students, and other relevant stakeholders at the institute. The findings reveal that academic advisors not only provide academic guidance but also mentor students in developing non-academic skills, such as communication, time management, and other professional skills. Academic advisors also play a role in connecting students with internship opportunities and professional networks, contributing to their job readiness. However, this study also identifies several challenges, including a lack of training for academic advisors and heavy workloads. The study recommends the need for specialized training for academic advisors and the enhancement of support mechanisms to improve the effectiveness of their role in developing student HR competencies. The results of this research are expected to provide insights for higher education institutions to improve academic advising programs and more effectively support student competency development.
