Abstract

This study explores the esoteric ratio of ecological verses within the framework of Islamic Religious Education by analyzing Imam al-Rāzī’s monumental work, Tafsīr al-Kabīr Mafātīḥ al-Ghayb. The research seeks to uncover how al-Rāzī’s interpretative method integrates rational inquiry with spiritual insight to address ecological themes in the Qur’an, particularly in relation to human responsibility toward nature as a manifestation of divine trust (amānah). Using a qualitative approach with interpretative textual analysis, the study examines selected verses that highlight ecological balance, environmental ethics, and the metaphysical dimensions of creation. The findings reveal that al-Rāzī not only provides a theological explanation of ecological verses but also emphasizes a philosophical-esoteric dimension where nature functions as a sign (āyah) pointing toward divine wisdom. This integration of rationality and esotericism offers a pedagogical implication for Islamic Religious Education by promoting ecological awareness rooted in spiritual values. Furthermore, the study concludes that al-Rāzī’s interpretation presents a holistic model of ecological consciousness, bridging the gap between rational exegesis, esoteric reflection, and contemporary environmental ethics. Such insights are highly relevant to current educational discourse, as they encourage a paradigm that unites faith, reason, and ecological responsibility. In conclusion, this research contributes to the enrichment of Islamic Religious Education by framing ecological issues not merely as environmental concerns but as integral to the spiritual and rational development of learners.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education has encouraged the use of various digital learning tools to improve the learning process. However, the success of these digital tools depends not only on the technology itself, but also on the students' psychological factors. This study aims to systematically analyze how digital learning tools and students' psychology work together to affect learning quality, based on scientific publications from 2023 to 2025. The research uses a qualitative approach with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The data comes from Scopus-indexed scientific articles published between 2023 and 2025. Based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, 8 articles were selected. These eight articles show that the success of digital learning tools is strongly influenced by students' psychology, especially student engagement, learning motivation, self-efficacy, autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Digital tools that are interactive, adaptive, and personal can boost students' learning engagement, sense of competence, and motivation. On the other hand, technology becomes less effective if students' social, emotional, and psychological needs are not met. The results show that digital learning tools and psychological factors support each other to create a more effective, meaningful, and student-centered learning experience. This study helps improve our understanding of how educational technology and learning psychology connect, which can be used to develop more adaptive and human-centered digital learning.

Abstract

This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach to develop a Portable Frog Jump Game as a learning medium for memorizing daily prayers among children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Rahayu, Bengkulu City. The study was motivated by the limited ability of young children to memorize daily prayers due to the lack of engaging and interactive learning media. During learning activities, children tended to lose focus and showed low interest in memorizing daily prayers. Therefore, an innovative learning medium integrating traditional games with religious and moral education was developed to enhance children's learning experiences. The study adopted the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Product validation was conducted by five experts specializing in instructional materials, language, educational media, educational technology, and early childhood education. The validation results indicated that the Portable Frog Jump Game learning media achieved a very high level of validity and was considered appropriate for classroom implementation. The implementation stage involved a field trial with 14 children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Rahayu, Bengkulu City. The findings demonstrate that the developed learning media is feasible for use in early childhood education and has the potential to support children's memorization of daily prayers through enjoyable and interactive learning activities.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of fostering halal and tayyib eating habits from early childhood through the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis—MBG) as an effort to strengthen Islamic character values among children at RA Gading Cempaka, Bengkulu City. This study aimed to describe the internalization process of halal and tayyib eating habits and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), parents, and students. The findings indicate that the internalization process was carried out through daily religious practices, including praying before and after meals, handwashing, communal eating, and teacher role modeling. The MBG Program reinforced these practices by providing nutritious, hygienic, safe, and halal food. Supporting factors included teacher commitment, parental involvement, SPPG support, and a conducive school environment. The main challenges were inconsistent habituation between home and school, limited teacher understanding of the halal and tayyib concept, the absence of standard operating procedures, limited stakeholder coordination, and children's selective eating behavior. The study concludes that the MBG Program effectively supports the internalization of halal and tayyib eating habits through collaborative efforts among schools, families, and stakeholders.

Abstract

Evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in formal schools is often reduced to a behavioristic checklist instrument that triggers the pathology of pseudo-compliance. This practice gives rise to cognitive objectivation, social desirability bias, and relational alienation, where students obey purely because of institutional supervision, not a sense of faith. This study aims to uncover this pathology and reconstruct PAI learning through the application of reflective journal pedagogy as an instrument for internalizing students' religious character. The method used is qualitative with a Holistic Single Case Study design that is evaluative and exploratory, taking the locus at SMPN 23 Bandung. The study population involved 30 8th-grade students for the longitudinal macro analysis, with 7 samples drawn using purposive maximum variation for the micro phenomenological analysis. The reflective journal instrument was operationalized for four weeks, strengthened by in-depth interviews and triangulation with PAI teachers and guidance counselors. The results of the study indicate a dramatic shift in the distribution of the depth of reflection of the class population: the proportion of students at the Descriptive Writing level decreased from 63% to 7%, while 17% of students successfully achieved Critical Reflection. Inductive thematic extraction resulted in eight dominant character values born from the sociological crisis of adolescence: Honesty (Shidq), Trustworthiness, Sincerity, Patience (Shabr), Repentance (Tawakkal), Gratitude (Shukr), Responsibility (Masuliyyah), and Birrul Walidain. This study concludes that Al-Ghazali's triadic convergence ('Ilm, Hal, 'Amal) is the missing link in the evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), where the inner state (Hal) acts as an absolute catalyst before authentic moral action ('Amal) can be realized. Reflective journals are proven to be able to restore the essence of Islamic Religious Education from administrative routines to living inner laboratories.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and formulate Total Quality Management (TQM) as a model for sustainable quality improvement in Islamic educational institutions through a value-based conceptual approach grounded in Islamic principles. Islamic educational institutions face increasingly complex quality challenges due to globalization, managerial professionalism demands, and growing public expectations for educational services. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, analyzing books, scholarly journal articles, and relevant academic documents related to quality management and Islamic education. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis and thematic analysis to identify key principles, values, and implementation patterns of TQM within the context of Islamic education. The findings indicate that TQM serves as a strategic model capable of fostering systematic and continuous quality improvement when integrated with Islamic values such as ihsan, itqan, amanah, and istiqamah. The novelty of this study lies in the formulation of an Islamic education-based TQM model that positions value-based quality culture as the core of institutional management and interprets continuous improvement not merely as a technical process but also as a moral and spiritual commitment. This model contributes to the development of visionary leadership, participatory quality culture, and enhancement of both educational processes and outcomes.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is expected to be a strategic medium in building the rationale for gender justice, but empirical reality shows indications of perpetuating patriarchal bias that marginalizes the role of women. This research analyzes the construction of women's fiqh material in three official state-published PAI high school/vocational school textbooks (Grades X, XI, XII) to assess their alignment with gender equality principles and maqāṣid al-syarī'ah. Using Qualitative Content Analysis based on Berger and Luckmann's social construction theory, the study finds systemic gender bias through three typologies: prohibition orientation (Grade X), domestification of marriage roles (Grade XI), and focus on inheritance rights differentiation (Grade XII). A latent absence was also found in the exclusion of the right to khulu', leadership, and representation of female scholars. The material on women's fiqh has been identified as partial and subordinative, not yet reflecting the value of protecting human dignity mandated by maqāṣid al-syarī'ah, thus requiring substantive reform in the evaluation and preparation of the national PAI textbooks.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Spiritual Teaching approach assisted by Canva interactive digital media on students' learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (IRE). The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 54 eighth-grade students of SMP Labschool Percontohan UPI Cibiru, Bandung, Indonesia, who were divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through learning motivation questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality, homogeneity, independent samples t-test, and N-Gain analyses with the assistance of SPSS version 31. The findings revealed that students in the experimental class experienced a higher increase in learning motivation than those in the control class. The independent samples t-test showed a significance value of less than 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the implementation of the Spiritual Teaching approach assisted by Canva interactive digital media on students' learning motivation. These findings suggest that integrating spiritual values with interactive digital technology can provide a meaningful and engaging learning experience and may serve as an innovative pedagogical alternative for addressing the crisis of students' learning motivation in the digital era.
