Abstract

The Barbie 2023 film is an audiovisual work that provides an overview of popular culture and can influence gender perceptions in society. This research aims to explore gender representation among the main characters in the film Barbie 2023. Qualitative research methods with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis techniques are used to find out the meaning construction of symbols and signs both verbal and nonverbal to explain gender representations in barbie films. The analysis displays gender stereotypes that influence the career choices, aspirations, and perceived abilities of the main characters. However, the film also depicts empowerment in which characters such as Barbie, Ken, and Midge challenge gender stereotypes, expand life options, and develop a social awareness of equality. The dynamics of relationships between characters also show changing views about gender. The correlation of this film with social studies education provides an opportunity to explore gender issues. This film is a learning material that stimulates critical thinking, reflection, and the development of students' social skills, such as empathy and cooperation, to fight for inclusive and just social change. The analysis of the Barbie 2023 film highlights the representation of the character's role in influencing gender perceptions, aspirations and the dynamics of social relationships. The film showcases the potential for overcoming gender stereotypes, promoting empowerment, and promoting gender equality as an integral part of social studies education to create an inclusive and just society for all individuals. Further studies could explore effective educational strategies to overcome gender stereotypes reflected in films, as well as their influence on students' mindsets in the context of gender equality. Keywords: Gender Stereotypes, Relationship Dynamics, Social Sciences Education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate the influence of theThis study aims to investigate the influence of the interaction between learning motivation and problem-solving skills in IPS education at SMP FK Bina Muda Cicalengka. Utilizing a quantitative approach and experimental design with a factorial model of 2^3, this research involved two groups: an experimental group (31 students) and a control group (32 students). Data collection methods included observation, documentation, IPS tests (Pretest and Posttest), and questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with multivariate analysis methods using One-Way ANOVA tests and supported by SPSS 26.0 software. The research findings indicate a significant improvement in problem-solving skills in the experimental group using Problem-Based Learning (PBL) compared to the control group using Project-Based Learning (PjBL), particularly in the context of learning motivation interaction. Descriptive statistics show a higher average normalized improvement score in the experimental group (0.8424) compared to the control group (0.7092), demonstrating the superior efficacy of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing problem-solving skills. The comparison of One-Way ANOVA tests for Problem-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning in enhancing students' problem-solving skills shows significant differences. The One-Way ANOVA test results for PBL indicate (Frequency=42.232, sig<0.000). On the other hand, the One-Way ANOVA test for PjBL shows (Frequency=4.911, sig<0.014). This suggests that both PBL and PjBL have significant impacts on improving students' problem-solving skills, but the effects vary depending on students' learning motivation levels. Furthermore, the interaction effect test shows results (Frequency = 4.415, sig= 0.016<0.05), indicating an interaction effect between PBL and PjBL influenced by learning motivation levels. This emphasizes the efficacy of PBL in engaging learners and improving problem-solving skills, as well as the importance of considering teaching methods and students' motivational factors in lesson planning. Keywords: Interaction of learning motivation, problem-solving skills, Social Studies, experimental approach, factorial design.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine various strategies for internalizing the disciplinary character of junior high school students applied by schools and teachers in order to create effective learning in the classroom. This is based on violations committed by students, even though school rules have been applied. Through the instillation of discipline in students, it is hoped that self-awareness will emerge to comply with applicable rules/norms, not because of a sense of compulsion to obey applicable rules/norms.  This type ofresearch is descriptive qualitative research, where the data collected are data from observations in the field, and interviews with principals, curriculum wakasek, student affairs, teachers, and students, as well as from literature that supports the concept of internalization of disciplinary character. The data validity technique used is a triangulation technique. Data analysis is carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that there are three approaches in internalizing the disciplinary character of students in SMP Negeri 3 Sumber, namely the school culture approach, Classroom Management/Climate, and social-emotional development through extracurricular activities and social care movements. As for the implementation of the strategy of internalizing the character of student discipline, there are no violations that exceed reasonable limits such as drugs and others, but they have not been 100% successful, there are still those who violate school rules. The obstacles that cause it are lack of cooperation between parents and the school, social and conformity factors, difficult transportation, and mediocre family economy. Keywords: strategy, internalization, disciplined character.

Abstract

One of the phenomena currently occurring is the rise of Korean food culture among Indonesian people. Indonesian people who like watching K-Dramas and following K-Pop trends are often interested in trying foods that often appear in dramas or uploaded by K-Pop idols. This research aims to assess the extent to which food quality, sub-culture and situational factors influence consumer preferences in terms of changing behavior and purchasing decisions. The research methodology used in this research is a quantitative method with quantitative data originating from primary and secondary data sources with statistical analysis using an inferential approach to produce clear and accurate research. The research findings indicate that food quality and situational factors individually do not significantly influence Indonesian purchasing decisions, with significance values of 0.125 and 0.116 respectively. Conversely, subculture significantly impacts purchasing decisions with a significance value of 0.000. In the simultaneous test, food quality, subculture, and situational factors collectively significantly influence purchasing decisions, as demonstrated by an F value of 21.116 with a significance value of 0.000 in the ANOVA test. Additionally, the coefficient of determination reveals that 53.1% of the variation in purchasing decisions is explained by food quality, subculture, and situational factors, leaving the remainder to be explained by other unstudied factors. Keywords: Globalization, Factors, Consumer Behavior.

Abstract

Ponorogo Regency is one of the rice centers in East Java. However, farmers in Ponorogo Regency face challenges regarding limited capital for their agricultural activities and difficulties in obtaining fertilizers. PT Ortani Mitra Sejahtera is a company that partners with farmers in Ponorogo Regency to provide the necessary facilities. Therefore, this study aims to analyze (1) the partnership pattern between PT Ortani Mitra Sejahtera and partner farmers in Ponorogo Regency and (2) the factors influencing the production of partner rice farming. This research was conducted at PT Ortani Mitra Sejahtera in Ponorogo Regency from December 2023 to March 2024. This study used a mixed-method research design. A sample of 33 respondents was determined using purposive sampling method. Data analysis was performed using Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) with frontier 4.1c software. The results showed that the partnership pattern between PT Ortani Mitra Sejahtera and farmers in Ponorogo Regency is Agricultural Operational Cooperation (KOA). Factors such as land area, ANR fertilizer, organic fertilizer, and pesticides significantly influence rice production.
