Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of project-based learning in increasing environmental awareness of elementary school students. Through experimentation, students who participated in project-based learning were compared with a control group. The results showed that students in the experimental group experienced significant improvements in knowledge, positive attitudes, and recycling behavior compared to the control group. This finding indicates that project-based learning is not only effective in the transfer of knowledge about recycling, but also successfully fosters awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. This is in line with the concept of 'learning while preserving', where the learning process is integrated with real actions to protect the environment.

Abstract

This article was created with the aim of explaining the focus of the research which aims to explore the role of teachers in developing students' faith and devotion at tungulwulung state elementary school 1. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, which aims to dig deeper into the methods used by teachers in delivering material. religion and values ​​instilled in the learning process. Through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies, researchers collected data regarding the way teachers interact with students and the challenges they face in teaching religious values. The research results show that teachers not only act as teachers, but also as role models who provide examples of ethical and moral behavior. In addition, teachers play a role in creating a learning environment that is conducive to the development of student character. Even though there are challenges such as the diversity of students' backgrounds and lack of support from parents, the role of teachers remains very important in shaping students' religious attitudes and understanding of religious values

Abstract

Adolescence is one of the most dynamic and complex phases of human development. In this case, the self-concept of adolescents needs to be prepared and developed. One of them is through the Youth Information and Counseling Center (PIK-R). PIK-R Elixir is one of the PIK-Rs located in Kapasari Village, Genteng District, Surabaya City. PIK-R Elixir is not only socialization activities, but in PIK-R Elixir there are several activities, one of which is LAK (Ludruk Arek Kapasari). LAK is an innovation from PIK-R related to how they socialize the issues experienced by adolescents in the form of a role through the art of ludruk. The purpose of this research is to find out how the role of PIK-R in the formation of adolescent self-concept through ludruk art. This study is a qualitative research involving 3 participants. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews. The result of this study is that the existence of ludruk art is one of the media that can support the process of self-concept formation

Abstract

This study explores the role of congregational prayer in preventing bullying in schools. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed with the Miles and Huberman interactive method. The results show that congregational prayer helps build character and internalize Islamic values, which serve as a strategy to prevent bullying. Key findings highlight several strategies: (1) fostering a positive and tolerant environment, (2) instilling Islamic character values, (3) intensive supervision, (4) student involvement, (5) enhancing self-awareness and empathy, (6) applying positive approaches to negative behavior, (7) providing real-life examples, (8) reinforcing anti-bullying commitments, (9) encouraging student role models, and (10) integrating Islamic values into daily school life. These efforts collectively create a supportive environment that reduces bullying incidents and promotes positive student behavior.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop creative teaching activities for preschoolers using Lantern, a Chinese traditional handwork. Employing the Design and Development Research (DDR) method by Richey & Klein (2014), the study was conducted in three phases. The first phase involved developing instruments through a literature review and expert interviews. In the second phase, questionnaires were distributed to experts, and data were analyzed using the Fuzzy Delphi method with a five-point Likert scale to assess consensus through threshold (d) values. The final phase evaluated the activities based on expert feedback, with semi-structured interviews analyzed thematically. Results indicate that this innovative approach, integrating Lantern-making steps, effectively supports creative teaching and traditional handwork skills in preschoolers. Experts acknowledged its novelty and relevance for fostering creativity through cultural heritage activities.

Abstract

The integration of local Javanese culture into Fine Arts education for second-grade elementary students is a strategic response to globalization challenges, emphasizing the need to strengthen cultural identity from an early age. This research explores the significance of embedding local culture in Fine Arts education, highlighting its accessibility and relevance to young learners. A qualitative methodology is adopted, with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature reviews. Instruments include observation sheets, interview templates, and documentation forms. The study is conducted at a State Elementary School recognized for effectively incorporating local cultural preservation within its curriculum. Findings indicate that integrating Javanese culture in Fine Arts education enables students to connect directly with their environment, fostering a deeper appreciation for local wisdom and ensuring its sustainability. This initiative underscores the role of education in nurturing cultural identity, preparing students to navigate global influences while preserving their heritage.

Abstract

This study examines the role of school culture in influencing students' character building, learning motivation, and academic achievement. School culture encompasses values, norms, traditions, and habits shared by students, teachers, and staff within the school environment. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed at SDN 2 Tamanasri, located in Tamanasri Village, Pringkuku Sub-district, Pacitan Regency. Data collection methods included observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis of school activities. The findings reveal a positive school culture characterized by discipline, cooperation, and respect, reflected in daily routines and extracurricular programs. These activities enhance students' talents and foster stronger social bonds within the school. The study concludes that effective school culture management is crucial for creating a conducive learning environment and supporting students' holistic development. Future research should explore broader contexts to validate these findings and their applicability.

Abstract

This study is aimed to know the perception of teachers towards the level of understanding of The National Preschool Standard Curriculum (KSPK) among teachers and parents. The data was collected through in-depth interviews by two preschool teachers from a private and government preschool. The interviews were documented through email that covers the level of teachers understanding, teaching practice and the perception of teachers on parents understanding. Then, the data were analyzed using thematic analysis by manually organizing and analyzing data for accurate monitoring. Studies show that both preschool teachers understand the KSPK 2017 but for parents, there are only a few parents who understand the KSPK and still prioritizing on academic matters only.

Abstract

The case study examines the influence of teaching supervision on teachers' instructional methods at a school in Kuala Lumpur. Using semi-structured interviews and classroom observations, the findings reveal that effective supervision improves teaching strategies, classroom management, and teacher job satisfaction. Supervision helps teachers identify blind spots, incorporate student feedback, and enhance instructional effectiveness and student engagement. However, its success depends on supervisors’ skills, feedback quality, and the school environment. Recommendations include training supervisors, integrating technology, and adopting tailored supervision strategies. These insights provide guidance for strengthening supervision to improve teaching quality and professional development.

Abstract

The early years of childhood are a critical period for identifying and nurturing talents and interests to support holistic development. This study aimed to explore the role of teachers in developing students' talents and interests through talent-based activities at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Bebekan Sepanjang. A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing observations, interviews, and documentation to gather data from teachers, students, and parents. The research examined strategies, methods, and challenges in facilitating talent and interest development, with a focus on teacher involvement, school environment support, and parental roles. Results revealed that while talent-based activities enhance student engagement and potential exploration, their implementation is hindered by limited resources, insufficient variety in activities, and time constraints. Despite these challenges, teachers play a significant role in fostering enthusiasm and identifying latent abilities. This research highlights the novelty of integrating structured talent-based activities into early childhood education, emphasizing their potential in creating a supportive learning environment that aligns with individual interests. The findings contribute to developing more effective educational practices to optimize the golden phase of children's development.
