Abstract

Education is the main foundation for the nation's progress, students are trained and developed through the availability of schools, and the government is also trying to develop and implement an independent curriculum. However, this will become a problem if schools cannot provide good facilities to support students' basic needs, negatively impacting students with decreased learning motivation and student engagement in school. Therefore, this study examines the relationship between school well-being and Vroom's theory of motivation in the context of student engagement in the era of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative approach based on a literature study, this research aims to understand how school well-being and motivational expectations based on Vroom's theory interact in shaping students' active engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study examines academic stress in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students aged 10-12 years, a critical stage in children's psychological and academic development. The research employed a phenomenological approach to understand the experiences of two students dealing with a heavy academic workload. Data were collected through interviews and observations, focusing on emotional, cognitive, physiological, and behavioral aspects. The findings revealed that academic stress was caused by factors such as a large volume of tasks, pressure to perform, and lack of support and effective time management. This stress negatively impacted students' mental health, leading to anxiety, mood swings, sleep disturbances, and other physical symptoms. The study underscores the need for emotional support from teachers and parents, as well as the importance of balancing academic demands with recreational activities to promote psychological well-being.

Abstract

Problems that often arise are the lack of understanding in implementing innovative learning models, which makes students quickly bored and have difficulty understanding the material. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning learning model with loose parts media in increasing students' interest and activity in science learning. The method in the study used a quantitative approach to quasi-experimental design. Data were collected through observation and documentation. The results of the study showed that the application of Discovery Learning with loose parts media significantly increased students' interest and learning activity in science learning. The use of this method is effective in creating an interesting learning environment, and is able to contribute to improving student learning outcomes. The results of the hypothesis test between the two groups prove that loose parts of the media can affect the ability to understand the Nature of Science and Scientific Methods.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method in improving students' English pronunciation skills. The research subjects were grade VII students at SMPN 1 Kembung, who often face challenges in pronunciation, especially in the elements of stress, rhythm, pause, and intonation. Data was collected through pre-tests and post-tests as well as observation. The results of the analysis showed a significant improvement in the students' average pronunciation score, from 63.72 in the pre-test to 73.13 in the post-test, with a significant difference (t = -9.323, p < 0.001) and high correlation ( r = 0.856, p < 0.001). In addition to technical improvement, PjBL also helps increase students' speaking confidence. These findings suggest that PjBL is effective in overcoming pronunciation difficulties, and is recommended as a method that can be applied in English language learning to improve communication skills.

Abstract

ADHD symptoms in preschool children have an impact on social development, especially social competence. ADHD symptoms in preschool children will increase oppositional behavior and behavioral problems with peers, making it difficult for children to make friends and establish healthy relationships. Early detection of ADHD risk is important, but the picture of ADHD risk in preschool children is still not widely known. This study aims to obtain a description of ADHD symptoms in preschool children in East Java. This study used descriptive quantitative research with a sample size of 202 preschool children. The instrument to detect ADHD risk is the Abbreviated Conners Rating Scale (ACRS). Data findings were analyzed using univariate analysis. The results of data analysis showed that 30% (60 out of 202) preschool children had ADHD risk. The most common ADHD symptom is Tirelessness, or excessive activity. These findings suggest that ADHD risk detection needs attention at the preschool level.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of expressive writing in improving emotional regulation in adolescents with low emotional regulation. A quantitative experimental design was employed using a pre-experiment approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 4 adolescents (2 males, 2 females) with low emotion regulation, as measured by the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (α=0.664). The intervention involved four stages of expressive writing: recognition, examination, juxtaposition, and application to self. The results indicated a significant improvement in emotional regulation post-intervention (t = -8.392, p < 0.05). The findings suggest that expressive writing can be an effective preventive intervention for adolescents with low emotional regulation.

Abstract

The researcher's aim in studying this phenomenon is based on the National Assessment replacing the PBB which is designed as an evaluation carried out by the government to assess the quality of educational services in educational units with the aim of improving and increasing the quality of student learning on an ongoing basis. This requires careful preparation from both educators and students. ANBK questions consist of reasoning questions which make students feel confused when working on them. Therefore, a strategy is needed by teachers to provide additional study hours for students to review and discuss the questions that will be tested during ANBK implementation. Apart from that, students are also trained to know and operate computers, which is the most important part of preparing students for ANBK.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-acceptance and narcissistic tendencies in students who use Instagram social media in Sidoarjo. The hypothesis proposed is that researchers argue that there is a relationship between self-acceptance and narcissistic tendencies. The method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. The population in this study was 23,039 and the sample was 85 using G-Power with random sampling technique. The result is a significant relationship that obtained a value (rxy) of 0.285. Hypothesis testing shows a significance value of 0.008, so the hypothesis can be accepted, and R Square is 8.1%. So it can be concluded that self-acceptance is weak against narcissistic tendencies, for that further researchers are expected to add other variables that have coverage of narcissistic tendencies.
