Abstract Cholelithiasis is one of the most common diseases. One of the treatments that can be done is a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This action is one type of minimally invasive procedure that aims to minimize trauma from the process, which aims to minimize trauma from the surgical process but with satisfactory results. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure by introducing CO2 gas into the peritoneal cavity to create a space between the anterior abdominal wall and the viscera, thereby providing endoscopic access into the peritoneal cavity. Anesthesia induction was performed under general anesthesia with intubation. The procedure was successful and the patient returned to the ward in good condition.

This study aims to see whether there is a relationship between self-acceptance and quality of life in patients with chronic kidney failure. This study uses a quantitative approach with a random sampling technique. The research subjects were 130 people with chronic kidney failure. The data collection method used a self-acceptance scale that was compiled by the researcher himself based on the aspect of self-acceptance from Bernard which consisted of 39 items and the quality of life scale which was compiled by the researcher himself based on the quality of life aspect of Sirgy which consisted of 29 items. Data analysis using Product Moment correlation technique. The relationship between self-acceptance variables and quality of life in patients with chronic kidney failure is accepted. This means that the higher the self-acceptance of patients with chronic kidney failure, the higher their quality of life. Conversely, the lower the self-acceptance of patients with chronic kidney failure, the lower their quality of life

Abstract Background: The high incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) progressing into multidrugresistant TB (MDR-TB) has become a serious concern and caused a high mortality rate. The incidence of MDR-TB was 3.3% of new cases and 20% of cases of recurrent treatment. Low levels of vitamin D is a predisposing factor of MDR-TB, and family members in contact with the patient also show risk of infection. Currently, there is no study that compares vitamin D levels between MDR-TB patients and their household contact. Method: This is a case control study, with the number of samples of each group (MDR-TB patients, household contact, healthy controls) 40 subjects, respectively. Each member of each group were checked for vitamin D levels using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique. Result: Mean levels of vitamin D in MDR-TB patients are 32.21, contact families 31.7 and healthy controls 26.86. There is a significant relationship between vitamin D levels and MDR-TB incidence (p=0.006). Conclusion : There was no significant association between vitamin D deficiency level with MDRTB. Vitamin D insufficiency was a protective factor for MDR-TB than in healthy control.

One of the public health problems that is very serious and requires proper treatment for sufferers is diabetes mellitus (DM). An increase in plasma glucose levels that exceeds normal limits is one of the basics for diagnosing diabetes. This study aim to determine the antidiabetic activity of Nanoherbal Extract of Ocimum Basilicum L. This is an experimental study in which the research group was divided into seven groups, each including five rats weighing 200-250 grams. Which are (normal group, negative group, metformin, nanoherbal 25, 50, 100, and 200 mg/kgBW). Rats were induced by STZ 75 mg/kgBW + NCT 120 mg/kgBW until the blood glucose is above 200 mg/dL. The highest level of SOD is the control group 63.984 ± 2,065 ng/mL and the lowest is negative group is 22,41 ± 2,06 ng/mL. For group that given treatment show that the highest SOD level is in dose 200 mg/kgBW 71,72 ± 0,90 ng/mL and the lowest is in dose 25 mg/kgBW 31,814 ± 1,11 ng/mL and the group given metformin is 68,52 ± 32,39 ng/mL. The highest level of MDA is in group control which given only STZ and NCT 37,522 ± 1,64 ng/mL and the lowest MDA level is in normal group 7.199 ± 1,415 ng/mL. however, after given extract show that MDA level decreases which show in the dosen 200 mg/kgBW 7,76 ± 1,64 ng/mL that nearly to the value of normal MDA level while the highest in the treatment group is 30,83 ± 0,961 ng/ml. In summary, Nanoherbal Extract of Ocimum Basilicum L has antidiabetic activity by increasing the level of insulin and antioxidant SOD level while reducing the MDA level

Abstract: The community health public in Indonesia needs to be improved to elevate the quality of life. The waste bank is an activity of a non-governmental program to maintain environmental health by separating the household waste into organic and non-organic categories. The waste bank is managed using a system such as banking conducted by officers. It was proven that waste bank activity has a positive impact on declining waste volume to improve sanitation. However, waste banks are still carried out in volunteering houses, public service houses, and residential paths. Waste banks have many potencies to support either ecotourism or eco-green planning. This study was performed by waste generation and characterization sampling to determine the required size of the waste bank schematic design. The result shows a schematic design model of the Waste Bank building by researching society’s needs for better environmental health. Purpose: This research is to design a waste bank based on public health needs Patients and methods: This study is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used is stratified random sampling, with 98 respondents residing in Lhokseumawe city. Data collection was done by 8 days of sampling. Results: The results showed that there is no waste bank building that meets the public health building requirements. There is a schematic design to propose. Conclusion: There is an urgency to have a requirement to waste bank building design to improve sanitation and public health.

Agranulocytosis as adversed effect of antithyroid drug (ATD) in patients with Graves disease is a rare complication but it can be serious and life threatening. The mortality rate 2-10% caused by severe infection as complications. Immediate diagnosis and management are essential for proper treatment and good prognosis. A 35-year-old female with Graves disease was complaining of fever and sore throat. She was initially treated with Thiamizole 1x20 mg for 2 weeks. Physical examination revealed leukoplakia and diffuse struma. Laboratory test : FT4 43 pmol/L, TSHs :0,005 uIu/mL, ANC <100/ul. Patient is diagnosed with ATD induced agranulocytosis. Treatment includes meropenem, fluconazole and GCSFs. The clinical and laboratory parameter improved after two weeks of treatment. Agranulocytosis in Graves’ disease patient which had ATD is a rare occurrence, with an incidence 0,2- 0,5% (66,7% had severe infection). The diagnostic criteria for agranulocytosis caused by ATD are hyperthyroid patients who are confirmed with an increase T4 and/or T3, decrease in TSH, ANC of 1500/ul before receiving ATD, ANC < 500/ul after initiation ATD and other causes of agranulocytosis have been excluded. In fact, most patients had ANC <100/ul. There are no symptom difference with agranulocytosis caused by other cause. High fever and sore throat are the most common symptom. Initial management are to identify, immediately stop the drug use, broad spectrum antibiotics and GCSFs. The hyperthyroidism will continue and alternative therapies should still be given. The best prevention is to educate patient and to examine granulocyte count frequently.
