Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has shifted the paradigm of Arabic language learning from reliance on conventional resources to the use of digital media that offers greater authenticity and contextual relevance. One such medium is the Indonesian digital news portal “Indonesia Alyaum”, which presents various information about Indonesia in Modern Standard Arabic. This study aims to analyze the use of “Indonesia Alyaum” in enhancing the Arabic-Indonesian literacy of doctoral students in the Arabic Language Education program at UIN Alauddin Makassar. Employing a qualitative field research approach, the study gathered data through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the use of “Indonesia Alyaum” improves students' ability to read contemporary Arabic texts, enriches their academic vocabulary, fosters critical literacy, and strengthens their skills in translating or transforming information between Arabic and Indonesian. Furthermore, the use of digital news media boosts learning motivation and student participation in the learning process. The study recommends integrating Arabic-language digital news media as an alternative learning resource in graduate-level Arabic language education.

Abstract

Cultural, ethnic, religious, and social diversity among elementary school students is a reality that requires effective management through learning practices that promote respect for differences. Multicultural education plays a crucial role in fostering tolerance and mutual respect, while inclusive education ensures equal learning opportunities for all students without discrimination. At the same time, digital transformation has created new opportunities to integrate these approaches by utilizing technology as an adaptive, interactive, and accessible learning medium. This study aims to critically examine the role of digital-based multicultural education as a strategy for strengthening inclusive education in elementary schools. The research employed a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected from relevant academic sources, including books, scholarly journals, and scientific documents, and analyzed using content analysis through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that integrating multicultural education with digital technology enhances students’ understanding of diversity, promotes tolerance, and expands learning accessibility for all learners, including those with special educational needs. The successful implementation of this approach depends on teachers’ digital competencies, the availability of supporting technological infrastructure, and school policies that promote an inclusive culture. Therefore, digital-based multicultural education can serve as an effective strategy for creating equitable, inclusive, and diversity-responsive learning environments in elementary schools. The findings are expected to provide a conceptual reference for policymakers and educators in developing technology-supported inclusive learning practices.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low narrative text writing skills of students and the less than optimal use of interactive learning media in Indonesian language learning which are the problems behind this research. Therefore, this study aims to determine the description of the use of interactive learning media based on the Quizizz application and its effectiveness on narrative text writing skills in Indonesian language learning for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 010 Buangin. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental design, namely One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study population was 15 fourth grade students of SD Negeri 010 Buangin. The sampling technique used saturated sampling, so that the entire population was used as a research sample. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and observations. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the study indicate that the use of interactive learning media based on the Quizizz application was implemented very well based on the results of observations. In addition, the use of interactive learning media based on the Quizizz application is effective in improving narrative text writing skills in Indonesian language learning for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 010 Buangin. This is demonstrated by the excellent implementation of the use of learning media and the improvement in students' narrative writing skills after using the media.

Abstract

Learning on the Network Security element still relies heavily on conventional face-to-face methods at SMK Hasyim Asy'ari Lamongan, since the school does not yet have a Learning Management System (LMS) specifically dedicated to supporting this topic, leaving students passive and struggling to grasp abstract technical concepts. This study aimed to develop, and to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of, a Moodle-based LMS named “TKJ Smart Learning” integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model to improve students' cognitive competency on the Network Security element. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, comprising the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The developed product includes Network Security learning materials, discussion forums, project-based learning activities, group role assignment, project monitoring, assignments, quizzes, assessment, reflection, and student activity tracking. Feasibility was evaluated through expert validation of the teaching module, media, materials, and test instruments, together with Black-Box Testing, while effectiveness was analyzed using pre-test and post-test scores from an experimental and a control class comprising 45 grade XI Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) students. The results showed an average expert validation score of 94.25% (Highly Valid), with Black-Box Testing achieving a 100% success rate. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test showed a significant pre-test–post-test improvement in both classes (p < 0.001), and the Mann-Whitney U Test revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes (U = 401.5; p < 0.001). The experimental class obtained an N-Gain score of 0.765 (high category), compared to 0.447 (moderate category) for the control class. Therefore, the Moodle-based TKJ Smart Learning LMS implementing Project-Based Learning is considered feasible and effective in improving students' cognitive competency on the Network Security element.

Abstract

Precision in calculating construction work volumes is a critical aspect of preparing a Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and Cost Budget Plan (RAB) to prevent budget overruns and material shortages on site. This study aims to identify common estimator human errors and quantitatively analyze their impacts on material quantity deviations and cost overruns in the wall construction of the Dewantara Polytechnic Building in Palopo City. The research method employs a descriptive quantitative analysis comparing manual estimator calculations with corrected technical calculations based on AHSP 2026 standards (SE Dirjen Bina Konstruksi No. 47/SE/Dk/2026). Primary data were obtained from local material market price surveys in Palopo City in 2026, while secondary data included Detail Engineering Design (DED) drawings and AHSP 2026 guidelines. Quantitative results indicate that dominant human errors include failure to deduct frame opening areas, neglecting material waste factors, and inaccuracy in converting loose to compacted sand volume. In a sample classroom area of 70.00 m², the failure to deduct an opening area of 8.04 m² triggered a wall area overestimation of 12.98%. Consequently, this led to a budget overestimation for light brick procurement by 7.60% and Portland cement by 7.62%. Conversely, ignoring the sand volume conversion factor caused a sand requirement underestimation of 10.68%, posing a risk of halting construction operations due to material shortages. Overall, these accumulated human errors caused a total budget overrun of 5.90% to 7.28% for wall materials compared to actual requirements. Correcting calculations based on AHSP 2026 technical guidelines and adopting Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology effectively eliminate these discrepancies and enhance project cost estimation efficiency.

Abstract

Wall finishing work represents a vital component in both building construction and renovation, exerting a significant impact on estimated total life-cycle costs as well as overall aesthetic value (Nurhayati & Wibowo, 2021). The selection of interior finishing materials affects not only initial financial outlays but also dictates the frequency and cumulative expenses of periodic maintenance throughout a building’s operational lifespan. This study aims to analyze and compare the financial feasibility and long-term cost efficiency between the application of conventional paint and wallpaper installation on interior walls in Palopo City. The research methodology employs a descriptive quantitative approach based on Budget Plan (Rencana Anggaran Biaya / RAB) analysis, referencing the local Unit Price of Work (Harga Satuan Pekerjaan / HSP) standards in Palopo City (Dinas PUPR Kota Palopo, 2025; Ministry of PUPR, 2022). This evaluation is enhanced through Direct Life-Cycle Costing (DLCC) modeling to assess the durability and effective service life of materials over a 10-year observation horizon (Kirk & Dell'Isola, 2015). Technical parameters regarding material degradation rates and maintenance intervals were compiled from supporting literature and local climatic conditions of Palopo City. The calculated results indicate that the initial investment cost (initial cost) for conventional paint work is IDR 28,500/m², whereas wallpaper installation requires an initial cost of IDR 68,000/m². Although conventional paint demonstrates a lower initial cost—approximately 2.38 times cheaper than wallpaper—the 10-year life-cycle cost analysis reveals a contrasting financial perspective. Due to the susceptibility of conventional paint to high humidity, which necessitates repainting every 3 years, the cumulative cost for maintenance and reapplication reaches IDR 114,000/m² by the end of the 10th year (Pratama & Supriyadi, 2023). In contrast, vinyl wallpaper proves to maintain an effective service life of up to 10 years without requiring periodic replacement, keeping its cumulative expenditure at IDR 68,000/m². This study concludes that from a long-term investment perspective, wallpaper is significantly more economical, offering a cost-saving potential of 40.3% (IDR 46,000/m²) compared to conventional paint for property owners in Palopo City.

Abstract

User reviews on Google Maps are a valuable source of information that can be utilized to evaluate the service quality of a tourist destination based on visitors' actual experiences. However, the sheer volume of reviews makes manual analysis highly inefficient. This study aims to analyze the sentiment of visitor reviews of Wisata Bahari Lamongan (WBL), classify these reviews into SERVQUAL service quality dimensions using the Classifier Chains algorithm, and provide recommendations for service improvement based on Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The research data was obtained from WBL Google Maps reviews and processed through the Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) stages, which included data selection, preprocessing, sentiment analysis using the w11wo/indonesian-roberta-base-sentiment-classifier model, SERVQUAL dimension mapping, and multilabel classification using the Classifier Chains algorithm with several base classifiers. The test results indicate that the combination of Classifier Chains with Logistic Regression yielded the best performance compared to other models, achieving a Macro F1-Score of 0.4774 and a Weighted F1-Score of 0.6304. This combination proved highly capable of modeling the interdependencies between SERVQUAL dimensions. Furthermore, the classification results were utilized in IPA and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) to identify specific service attributes that need to be maintained or improved. This research demonstrates that integrating sentiment analysis, multilabel classification, SERVQUAL, and IPA can produce a more comprehensive evaluation of service quality based on online reviews. Ultimately, it provides strategic recommendations for the management of Wisata Bahari Lamongan to enhance service quality and boost visitor satisfaction.

Abstract

Accurate cost estimation is a key factor in the success of simple house construction project management. This study aims to analyze the accuracy of the rough method Cost Budget Plan (RAB) based on area (per square meter) compared to the detailed method based on volume analysis and unit price analysis (AHSP). The case study was conducted on a type 36/72 residential house in Wara Barat District, Palopo City. The research data includes technical drawings, surveys of local material prices and labor wages for 2026, as well as supporting regulations such as PUPR Ministerial Regulation No. 8 of 2023 and SE DJBK No. 68/SE/Db/2024. Using a comparative descriptive method, the analysis showed that the rough method with a unit cost standard of IDR 3,500,000.00/m² resulted in an estimated cost of IDR 126,000,000.00, whereas the detailed method yielded IDR 138,450,000.00. A cost deviation of IDR 12,450,000.00 (9.00% underestimated) occurred, giving the rough method an accuracy level of 91.00%. The primary causes of this deviation are fluctuations in reinforced concrete structures and land preparation work, which are not detailed in the square meter rate. Nevertheless, because the deviation falls within the construction management tolerance limit (±10% to ±15%), the rough method is considered efficient and suitable for early conceptual planning, provided it is followed by detailed calculations during physical execution.

Abstract

Fried onions are a food product that retains a considerably high oil content after the frying process, thus requiring an oil draining process to improve the quality and shelf life of the product. A 1 kg capacity fried onion oil draining machine (spinner) was developed in previous research; however, it still utilizes a direct drive system, which means the rotational speed of the spinner tube cannot be adjusted. This condition potentially affects the draining results and the machine's operational stability. This study aims to modify the previously developed 1 kg capacity fried onion oil draining machine so that its rotational speed can be adjusted, resulting in a draining performance that better aligns with process requirements. Modifications were made to the transmission system by adding a pulley and a V-belt, along with a dimmer for speed regulation. Additionally, adjustments were made to the machine's frame to support the installation of the new transmission system. The research methodology encompasses problem analysis, literature review, machine redesign, equipment assembly and modification, as well as machine performance testing. The tests were conducted using variations in the rotational speed of the spinner tube, specifically low, medium, and high speeds. The observed parameters include the rotational speed of the spinner tube (RPM), draining time, and the weight of the fried onions after the draining process. The results of this research are expected to produce a fried onion oil draining machine that offers greater flexibility in speed adjustment, operates with enhanced stability, and is capable of delivering optimal draining results without damaging the texture of the fried onions.

Abstract

Language plays a very important role for everyone as a means to convey information, ideas, and thoughts. In the Islamic context, Arabic has a crucial urgency in understanding the Qur'an and Hadith. This study aims to examine in depth the role and urgency of mastering Arabic—along with its branches such as Nahwu, Sharaf, and Balaghah—towards the accuracy of understanding Islamic sacred texts. The method used is qualitative research with a library research approach. Data was collected from various classical and modern literatures discussing Arabic linguistics and Ulumul Qur'an. The results show that a comprehensive understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith cannot be achieved without adequate mastery of Arabic. The uniqueness of the language style (uslub), semantic richness, and dictional precision in the Qur'an require its researchers to master Arabic grammar to avoid interpretation bias. In conclusion, learning Arabic is an absolute prerequisite (obligatory) for Muslims, especially researchers of tafsir and hadith, to unearth divine messages accurately and deeply.
