Abstract

This study focused on female circumcision as a sacred practice among the Bugis-Makassar community, intertwined with various cultural and religious beliefs. It drew attention from both Islamic law and Bugis-Makassar cultural perspectives. The objective was to explore scholars' views on female circumcision and its connection to Bugis-Makassar culture through a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicated that within the context of Islamic law, female circumcision can be interpreted based on hadith and Sunnah, with varying opinions among Islamic scholars regarding its status as obligatory, recommended, or permissible, while some even oppose it. Despite these differing views, in communities like Bugis-Makassar, female circumcision is seen as an important cultural and traditional heritage. This practice was often accompanied by traditional ceremonies and religious rituals involving family and community. However, there were varied approaches to female circumcision within the Bugis-Makassar society, where some maintain this tradition with pride.

Abstract

This research specifically examines the use of language styles contained in QS Al-Baqarah to conclude the educational values in that surah. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a library research approach. Meanwhile, data sources are primary data and secondary data. The data collection method is appropriate to the subject of the study and then filtered and translated into theoretical thinking. The research results show that the educational values in the tasybīh verse contained in QS.2 17-19 are the values of faith, monotheism, and obedience. Every aspect of education contains several basic elements that lead to the understanding and practice of Islam, namely faith, monotheism, and obedience

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the practicality of mind mapping-based teaching materials in improving students' understanding and retention of information in the Islamic Religious Education Curriculum Review course at Muhammadiyah Kendari University. This research was conducted amidst various challenges related to traditional teaching methods, time constraints, and students' difficulties in understanding complex concepts. This study used a mixed research design using the sequential explanatory method. Quantitative data was collected through questionnaires given to 103 students, followed by qualitative data collection through interviews and document analysis with teaching lecturers. From the data analysis, it was found that mind-mapping-based teaching materials are very practical in supporting the learning process. As many as 85% of students stated that this teaching material was very helpful in understanding the material taught. Lecturers' responses also showed that this teaching material is practical and can be used in the learning process. These findings indicate the importance of developing innovative and adaptive teaching materials to meet students' learning needs effectively. This study recommends the adoption of mind mapping-based learning models accompanied by organized internal and external support to facilitate the provision of balanced and sustainable knowledge in accordance with modern educational trends and student needs.

Abstract

A holistic educational approach underscores the significance of comprehensive child development, integrating cognitive, social, emotional, and physical dimensions. Experiential learning through interaction with the environment facilitates optimal growth and development in children. The Merdeka Curriculum for schools introduces the concept of holistic learning, integrating various aspects of child development and creating learning experiences relevant to their lives. Teachers are crucial in creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment that allows children to feel valued and learn well. Play-based learning in schools strengthens children's motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. Implementing a holistic approach in this curriculum necessitates ongoing support for educators through training and coaching to improve their ability to manage child-based learning. Thus, a holistic approach is critical to ensuring optimal and high-quality early childhood development

Abstract

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل الظاهرة اللغوية الأسماء المنصوبة في سورة مريم، مع التركيز على الأنماط النحوية والدلالية، وكذلك تأثيرها على فهم النص القرآني. استخدمت الدراسة منهجًا وصفيًا تحليليًا مع اعتماد نظرية تمام حسن كإطار تحليلي. تم جمع البيانات الرئيسية من سورة مريم (98 آية)، بالإضافة إلى البيانات الداعمة المتمثلة في كتب التفسير والدراسات اللغوية ذات الصلة. أظهرت النتائج أن شكل المفعول به هو الأكثر هيمنة وذلك في 71 آية، مع وظائف متنوعة مثل التأكيد وتعزيز المعنى. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن البنية النحوية في سورة مريم لا تثري فقط الأبعاد الدلالية، بل تحمل أيضًا دلالات مهمة في تعليم اللغة العربية المستندة إلى القرآن الكريم. تُساهم هذه الدراسة بشكل كبير في تطوير أساليب تدريس اللغة العربية والتفسير المعاصر. Abstract This study aims to analyze the linguistic phenomenon of Al-asmā’ al-manṣūbah (nouns in the accusative case) in Surah Maryam, focusing on grammatical and semantic patterns and their implications for Qur'anic interpretation. A descriptive-analytical approach was employed, using Tammam Hassan’s linguistic theory as an analytical framework. Primary data were drawn from Surah Maryam (98 verses), supported by references to tafsir and relevant linguistic studies. The results reveal the prevalence of maf’ūl bih forms in 71 verses, serving various functions such as emphasis and meaning enhancement. This study concludes that the grammatical structures in Surah Maryam not only enrich the semantic dimensions but also have significant implications for Arabic language education based on Qur'anic texts. The study contributes to advancing contemporary linguistic and exegetical methodologies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of Islamic personality through the implementation of anti-violence education at one of state senior high schools in Palopo City. Adopting a qualitative research approach with a case study design, the study utilized data collection methods such as observations, interviews, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using a modified analytical induction technique, as well as the interactive model of data analysis developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes processes of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The findings reveal that violent behavior at the school manifests in various forms, including harassment, bullying, physical assault, fighting, hazing, and extortion. Some of these behaviors serve as indicators of potential triggers for future violent incidents within the school environment. The implementation of anti-violence education strategies is carried out through structural, cultural, and theological approaches. These strategies aim to address the root causes of violence and promote a more peaceful and supportive school climate. Moreover, the study shows that the implications of these anti-violence strategies extend beyond the school to include teachers, students, their families, and the wider community, suggesting a broader impact on societal attitudes towards violence and conflict resolution. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengembangan kepribadian Islam melalui penerapan pendidikan anti-kekerasan di salah satu sekolah menengah atas negeri di Kota Palopo. Menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik induksi analitis yang dimodifikasi, serta model analisis data interaktif yang dikembangkan oleh Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana, yang mencakup proses kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku kekerasan di sekolah tersebut muncul dalam berbagai bentuk, termasuk pelecehan, perundungan, penyerangan fisik, perkelahian, perpeloncoan, dan pemerasan. Beberapa bentuk perilaku ini menjadi indikator potensi pemicu kekerasan yang dapat terjadi di masa depan di lingkungan sekolah. Penerapan strategi pendidikan anti-kekerasan dilakukan melalui pendekatan struktural, kultural, dan teologis. Strategi-strategi ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi akar penyebab kekerasan dan menciptakan iklim sekolah yang lebih damai dan mendukung. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa implikasi dari strategi anti-kekerasan ini meluas ke luar sekolah, mencakup para guru, siswa, keluarga mereka, dan masyarakat luas, yang mengindikasikan dampak yang lebih besar terhadap sikap sosial terhadap kekerasan dan penyelesaian konflik.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the concept of implementing Arabic language learning with school-based management at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bulukumba. The method used in this research is field research. The results of this research concluded that the concept of implementing Arabic language learning with school-based management at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bulukumba was implemented through several strategies, namely listening skills (Istima) which were implemented through several activity steps, namely determining Istima' materials according to the theme to be taught, determining concepts relevant to istima. Meanwhile, the reading proficiency strategy (qira'ah) is implemented by the teacher reading Arabic texts well and correctly and also translating them, then students listen carefully. The skills in writing (kitabah) are carried out by the Arabic language study teacher by showing several sentences on the blackboard, then the students read and pay close attention for a few moments. Then the material is removed, then dictated, and students write into notebooks what the teacher dictates. For speaking skills (kalam), the Arabic language study teacher starts by pronouncing new vocabulary (mufrodat) one by one by the language study teacher and then imitates all the students.

Abstract

The type of research is a survey. The location is at the Barombong Maritime Polytechnic campus, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The population is 204 people. A sample of 51 people was drawn using a purposive random sampling technique. Data collection techniques: questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques: frequency tables, simple linear regression, and multiple regression. Conclusions of the study: (1) character building, worship discipline, worship motivation, and worship behavior in cadets of the Barombong Maritime Polytechnic, Makassar, South Sulawesi are categorized as moderate or need to be improved in worship activities as a Muslim, (2) character building, worship discipline, and worship motivation have a good effect both individually and together on worship behavior in cadets of the Barombong Maritime Polytechnic, Makassar, South Sulawesi. Character building, discipline, and motivation in worship according to Islamic teachings help cadets to behave positively and avoid negative behavior. Cadets will realize that committing sins will bring bad consequences, both in the world and in the hereafter. This can motivate cadets to avoid behavior that is detrimental to themselves and others. One of the efforts to improve character building, discipline, and motivation of cadets, Barombong Maritime Polytechnic has formed a character building center for cadets and students in the form of a permanent daily command (PHST) for cadets. Implications of the study: (1) factors of character building, worship discipline, and worship motivation were found to influence the worship behavior of Barombong Maritime Polytechnic cadets. Therefore, it is necessary to get attention from leaders, lecturers, instructors, and cadet mentors so that the worship behavior of cadets can be further improved, (2) participation of parents and families is very necessary, especially when cadets are on cruises so that they continue to pay attention to worship behavior when at home, and (3) the factors studied in this study are still limited. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to study other factors that are different from this study.

Abstract

Many learners of the Arabic language struggle to access primary Islamic sources, which are predominantly written in Arabic. Mastery of Quranic Arabic is essential in both Islamic studies and Arabic language acquisition, particularly for non-native speakers aiming to understand Islamic teachings. However, conventional methods of teaching Arabic grammar often focus heavily on theoretical aspects and fail to develop practical language skills. This study investigates the role of pedagogical grammar in Arabic language instruction, particularly in the development of teaching materials tailored to Quranic Arabic. Employing the 4D research and development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) by Thiagarajan, the study designed pedagogical grammar-based instructional materials using Quranic texts. These materials were tested on a cohort of 40 fourth-semester students. The findings demonstrate that instructional materials developed through a pedagogical grammar approach, incorporating authentic Quranic texts, significantly enhance learning outcomes. Students showed statistically significant improvement in performance, particularly in the qawāʿid li al-mutaqaddimīn course. The study concludes that pedagogical grammar-based materials are effective and should be further implemented in Islamic higher education institutions to enrich grammar instruction, optimize learning efficiency, and foster deeper engagement with Quranic texts.

Abstract

Al-iltifa>t al-Sharfiy adalah gaya Bahasa peralihan pada aspek morfologi yaitu peralihan-peralihan kreatif pada penggunaan dua kata, baik isim maupun fi’il yang memiliki akar kata yang sama dalam satu konteks pembicaraan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pola penggunaan al-iltifa>t al-sharfiy dalam al-Qur’an serta rahasia penggunaannya dengan pendekatan ilmu ma’ani dan badi. Penelitian merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Data yang diteliti adalah ayat-ayat al-Qur’an yang mengandung uslu>b al-iltifa>t al-sharfiy. Hasi kajian menunjukkan bahwa di dalam al-Qur’an terdapat ayat-ayat yang menggunakan al-iltifa>t al-sharfiy yang terbagi pada tiga kategori, yaitu; 1) al-iltifa>t al-sharfiy pada penggunaan isim seperti peralihan dari kata (ضَلَالٌ) ke kata (ضَلَالَةٌ), 2) al-iltifa>t al-sharfiy pada penggunaan fi’il seperti peralihan dari kata kerja (يُخَادِعُوْنَ) dengan wazan (فَاعَلَ-يُفَاعِلُ) kepada kata kerja (يَخْدَعُوْنَ) dengan wazan (فَعَلَ-يَفْعَلُ), dan 3) al-iltifa>t al-sharfiy pada penggunaan fi’il dan isim secara bergantian seperti kata kerja (يُخَادِعُونَ) kepada isim fa’il (الخَادِع).
