Abstract

This study aims to analyze how everyday conversations can significantly improve early childhood speech. The main focus of this research is the importance of environmental stimulation and the quality of interaction between children and adults, such as parents and teachers, in the process of language development. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through direct observation and in-depth interviews with teachers and parents of early childhood. The results showed that daily interactions such as storytelling, question and answer activities, and structured games can significantly expand children's vocabulary, improve the sentence structure used, and increase children's confidence in communicating. Verbal activities that are carried out consistently and purposefully are proven to have a positive impact on the development of speaking skills. In conclusion, quality daily conversations play a central role in optimizing children's speaking skills from an early age, and are an important foundation for overall language development.

Abstract

This research is intended to analyze the physical and mental elements in four poems by Heri Isnaini, namely "BERSAMA HUJAN", "I BRING THE WIND", ME AND SENJA" The analysis is carried out with a structural approach to reveal how poets build meaning through language and feeling. The physical elements studied include diction, imagery, concrete words, majas, and rhyme, while the inner elements include themes, tone, atmosphere, and mandates. The results of the study show that Heri Isnaini uses simple but poetic diction, strengthening the visual and emotional impression of the reader. Natural imagery and feelings are strongly displayed, with language styles such as metaphors and personifications. The themes that emerge reflect contemplation, tranquility, and closeness to nature. The tone of the poem is calm and melancholy, creating a contemplative atmosphere. The mandate in the poem invites the reader to reflect on life, accept change and understand sincerity. The combination of physical and mental elements results in a simple but deeply meaningful poem.

Abstract

Several titles of poems related to meditation by Heri Isnaini are exciting works to study, especially on the physical and inner elements of the poem. The inner elements are interrelated with the intrinsic elements contained in the poem, such as theme, feeling, tone, atmosphere, and the message to be conveyed. In contrast, the physical elements refer to the visual and auditory aspects of the poem, such as word choice, imagery, language style, typography, concrete language, and rhyme. This paper uses the literature study research method, namely by collecting data by reviewing books, as well as various reports related to the problem to be solved. This research aims to describe and examine the physical and mental elements, as well as understand the relationship between the two elements in building overall meaning in the poems “Meditation 1”, “Meditation 2”, “Time Meditation”, and “Rain Meditation” by Heri Isnaini. The results of this study show that the physical and mental elements in poetry have a complementary relationship in expressing a deep message, thus producing a complete meaning and touching emotionally and intellectually.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to recognize geometry in children aged 5–6 years through the block game method at Nurul Muslimin Mosque Kindergarten. The research was conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were children in group A at Nurul Muslimin Mosque Kindergarten, with research carried out collaboratively between researchers, teachers, and the principal. The procedure followed a systematic design consisting of two cycles, each divided into four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, testing, and documentation to measure the development of children's ability to recognize geometric concepts. The results showed a significant increase in children's ability to recognize geometry through the block game method. In the pre-cycle, only 23.33% of children demonstrated the expected level of ability. After the first cycle, this figure increased to 53.33%, indicating moderate progress. By the end of the second cycle, 86.66% of the children had reached the expected competency, showing a remarkable improvement. These findings highlight the effectiveness of the block game method in fostering cognitive development, particularly in the area of early geometry recognition among preschool-aged children. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that implementing block games as a teaching strategy not only enhances children's recognition of geometric shapes but also supports active learning, creativity, and collaboration. Therefore, educators are encouraged to integrate play-based learning methods such as block games into early childhood education programs to improve fundamental mathematical concepts and prepare children for higher learning stages.

Abstract

In addition to the positive findings regarding the effectiveness of instructional videos in enhancing reading skills, this study also highlights the importance of integrating technology into early childhood education. The use of instructional videos provides an engaging and interactive learning experience for children, making the learning process more enjoyable and effective. Children at TK Irama Jaya were able to visualize and connect sounds with letters and words, which is a crucial aspect of developing reading skills at an early age. Furthermore, the study reveals that instructional videos cater to different learning styles, allowing children to absorb information through auditory and visual channels. This multisensory approach enhances retention and understanding, especially for young learners who are just beginning to master reading. The videos also offer repetition and consistency, allowing children to revisit lessons at their own pace, thus reinforcing their learning process. The improvement observed in the post-test scores suggests that instructional videos can serve as a valuable tool in early childhood education, complementing traditional teaching methods. However, the study also indicates that while instructional videos are beneficial, they should be used in conjunction with other pedagogical techniques, such as interactive reading activities and teacher-guided lessons, to maximize learning outcomes. It is recommended that other schools, particularly those in remote or underserved areas, consider incorporating instructional videos into their teaching practices. The accessibility and cost-effectiveness of these videos make them an ideal resource for improving the quality of education in early childhood settings. Further research could explore the long-term effects of instructional videos on reading fluency and other areas of early literacy development.

Abstract

This study was conducted at TK Negeri Lebiti, Togean District, Tojo Una-una Regency, Central Sulawesi, with the aim of determining the effect of the demonstration method on the social interaction skills of early childhood students. The background of this research is based on the importance of developing children’s social abilities from an early age through learning activities that involve direct participation and interaction. The main problem examined in this study is whether the demonstration method significantly influences the improvement of children’s social interaction skills. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of two classes of children aged 4–6 years, comprising 12 children in the experimental class and 20 children in the control class, making a total of 32 participants. The experimental class was taught using the demonstration method, while the control class used conventional learning methods. Data were collected through observation and assessment of children’s social behaviors during learning activities. The collected data were analyzed using statistical techniques to test the research hypothesis. The findings are expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of the demonstration method in improving children’s social interaction skills within the context of early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the learning strategies implemented in the Bilingual-A class to develop early childhood language skills. The development of language skills in early childhood is an important aspect to consider, as language functions as the main medium for children to communicate, think, and express their feelings and ideas. However, language development problems often arise due to a lack of sufficient linguistic stimulation, both at home and in the learning environment. To address this issue, the study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers and children in the Bilingual-A class at RA Masjid Al-Akbar Surabaya. Through this approach, the researcher seeks to obtain a clear picture of how bilingual learning strategies are applied in daily classroom activities. The findings reveal that the applied learning strategies include communicative approaches, the use of enjoyable bilingual songs and games, and various visual media such as pictures, word cards, and teaching aids. The implementation of these strategies has proven effective in enhancing children’s vocabulary mastery, sentence construction ability, and confidence in communicating using two languages. These findings highlight the crucial role of teachers in designing engaging, interactive, and developmentally appropriate learning activities that holistically support children’s language growth.
