Abstract

Analysis of Science Literacy Ability in the Competence Aspect of Class VIII Students of Accredited A Junior High Schools in Rappocini District (Study on the Main Material of the Human Excretory System). Thesis of the Science Education Study Program. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Makassar State University (supervised by Mr. Hasanuddin, M. Si. and Mrs. Sitti Rahma Yunus, S. Pd., M. Pd). This study is a quantitative descriptive survey study that aims to determine how high the level of science literacy ability of class VIII students of junior high schools in Rappocini District in the 2023/2024 academic year is in the aspect of science competency in the main material of the human excretory system. The population of this study was 850 class VIII students of junior high schools in Rappocini District, namely SMPN 21 Makassar, SMPN 13 Makassar, and SMPN 33 Makassar. The sample was selected using a random sampling technique so that the sample in the study was 272 students. The research instrument was in the form of 20 multiple-choice questions on the main material of the human excretory system. The data collection technique was by giving tests directly at school. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the study were that the level of scientific literacy skills of class VIII students of Accredited A Junior High Schools in Rappocini District was in the "very low" category with a percentage of 42.63%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how high the level of ability of science literacy competency aspects of class VIII students in Polewali District. This research is a descriptive survey research using a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of grade VIII junior high school in Polewali District as many as 745 students from 3 schools namely SMPN 1 Polewali, SMPN 3 Polewali and SMPN 4 Polewali. Sampling using Random Sampling technique and determining the number of samples using the slovin formula which is 286 students. The research instrument was a multiple choice question of 20 items. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that the level of ability of science literacy competency aspects of VIII grade students in Polewali District is 48.23% which is included in the low category.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the activities of students in teaching and learning activities on the subject of elasticity of solids after applying the Problem Based Learning model. This article is motivated by the lack of student activity during teacher teaching because usually the learning process only focuses on the teacher. Physics learning is considered important so that students are not passive and during learning takes place. The expected goals in this article are, among others, to increase student activity after the problem-based learning model is applied. The method used to describe problem-based learning activities is Classroom Action Research. The steps applied in this research is to carry out research stages such as planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data collection technique is by recording events during learning and being observed by the teacher or implementing activities through learning videos which are then analyzed qualitatively. Based on the observations of the recordings and the teacher's experience, it can be concluded that students are more active during learning activities, including collaborating, asking questions, answering questions, and answering questions.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) the level of learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bajeng before being taught using digital comic media on light and optics, 2) the level of learning outcomes for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bajeng after being taught using digital comic media on light and optical materials. 3) Improving the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bajeng by applying digital comic media to light and optical instruments. 4) after there was no significant increase in the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bajeng implementing digital comic media. The type of research is Pre-Experimental research with a research design using One Group Pre-test- Post-test. The samples were selected by random sampling, with 2 classes, namely classes VIII A and VIII B, totaling 28 samples. Based on the results of the research it was concluded: 1) The level of learning outcomes for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bajeng before implementing digital comic media was in the low category with an average score of 8.43. 2) The level of learning outcomes for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Bajeng after implementing digital comic media is in the sufficient category with a score of 16.04. 3) The increase in student learning outcomes is in the medium category with a score of 0.46. 4) Digital comic media can improve learning outcomes, this is proven by testing the hypothesis using a paired sample test to obtain Sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 which shows that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

The science literacy ability of students in Indonesia is still far below the international average score. Several things that can cause this include the applicable education system, choice of models, approaches, methods, strategies, and learning methonds, choice of learning resources, student learning styles and learning infrastructure. The research method used is a literature study that examines students science literacy skills in science learning.  A total of 16 articles with the theme of science literacy were collected, analyzed, and cocluded to obtain recommendations about students science literacy skills in science learning. The results of the literature review obtained several things, namely: (1) the literacy ability of students is still relatively low and one of the causes is the low science literacy ability of science educators. (2) learning models that can improve students’ science literacy skills are applying appropriate learning models including problem based learning, inquiry, ethnoscience, RQA, Discovery Model Assisted By PhET Simulation. (3) types of teaching materials that can improve students science literacy skills are guided inquiry-based teaching materials, STEM-based teaching materials, and interactive multimedia in a blended learning manner.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the level of learning outcomes of students in grade VII SMP Negeri 33 Makassar before and after the application of augmented reality learning media 2) the improvement of learning outcomes of students in grade VII SMP Negeri 33 Makassar with the application of augmented reality learning media (3) a significant increase in learning outcomes of students in grade VII SMP Negeri 33 Makassar. This research is an experimental research with Pre-Experimental research design. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMPN 33 Makassar in the 2022/2023 school year as many as 290 students. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. This research instrument is in the form of multiple choice questions that contain cognitive levels of learning outcomes (C1-C4) as many as 25 items. Data collection is done by giving Pretest and Posttest. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of descriptive statistical analysis of pretest learner learning outcomes with an average score of 6.38 are in the low category and Posttest with an average score of 14.90 are in the medium category with. The increase in student learning outcomes with N-gain 0.46 is in the medium category. The results of inferential statistical analysis showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the application of augmented reality learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) The level of Science Process Skills of VII grade students before and after the application of Structured Inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code, 2) Improvement of Science Process Skills of VII grade students after the application of Structured Inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code. This type of research is Pre-Experimental research with a research design using One Group Pretest-posttest Design. The population was all VII grade students of SMPN 18 Makassar, school year 2022/2023 consisting of 10 classes with a total of 351 people, the sample was selected by purposive sampling and VII 2 class totaling 21 people was selected as the sample. The research instrument was a science process skills test question. Data collection was done by giving Pretest and Posttest. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Based on the research results obtained 1) The level of science process skills of students before the application of structured inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code is in the medium category with an average pretest score of 9.04. The level of science process skills of students after the application of structured inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code is in the high category with an average posttest score of 12.1, 2) The improvement of students' science process skills after the application of structured inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code is in the medium category with N-Gain 0.3, 3) The application of structured inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code can improve the science process skills of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Makassar, this is evidenced by the t test obtained t count = 25.08> t table = 2.085.

Abstract

The application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to improve the learning outcomes of XII KI 1 class students in the Chemical Industry Process subject. This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve learning outcomes in Chemical Industry Process subjects through the Problem Based Learning Model (PBL). The subjects of this study were XII KI 1 class students of SMK Negeri 1 Sukorejo, totaling 16 students. The method used is discussion with a scientific approach-PBL. Data collection was carried out using observation and evaluation techniques at the end of learning at the end of each cycle. The results of this study indicate that the average value of learning outcomes in the Chemical Industry Process subject of students in class XII KI 1 SMK Negeri 1 Sukorejo at the end of cycle I is an average value of 75.69 with completeness reaching 64.71%, the average value of student learning outcomes in cycle II has increased to 80.56 with completeness reaching 79.41%, and in cycle III the average value reaches the highest value of 84.72 and completeness reaches 97.06%. The problem-based learning (PBL) learning model can improve learning outcomes in the Chemical Industry Process course.

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research that aims to find out: 1) The improvement of science process skills of the students of class VIII SMPN 1 Bangkala which is taught by using the Discovery Learning model, 2) The improvement of science process skills of the students of class VIII SMPN 1 Bangkala which is taught by using the Direct Learning Model, and 3) the effect of the Discovery Learning model on improving science process skills of the students of class VIII SMPN 1 Bangkala. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (Quasi-Experiment) and design of research is Nonequivalent Control Group Design with the population of all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Bangkala consisting of 5 classes with a total of 140 students. The Sample selection by using purposive sampling as an experimental class of 23 students and a control class of 23 students. Descriptive analysis results on improving the science process skills of students obtained an average score of N-Gain in the experimental class 0.74 classified as high category and 0.63 in the control class classified as medium category. Based on the results of inferential analysis using t-test science process skills obtained  = >  = 1,68, at a significant level (α)= 0,05. Thus H0 rejected while H1 received and concluded that there is an influence of discovery learning model on improving science process skills of students of class VIII SMPN 1 Bangkala on the subject matter of usaha dan pesawat sederhana dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The reaserch aims to the level of understanding of students' science concepts before and after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom, increasing students' understanding of science concepts after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom, understanding of science concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung Makassar students significantly increased after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom. The population of this study was all grade VIII students at MTs DDI Gusung Makassar with samples selected using purposive sampling techniques so that the sample in the study was 25 students. The research instrument uses the implementation of E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom with 25 questions in the form of multiple choice and divided into 3 indicators of understanding, namely translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: (1) The level of understanding of the concept of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students before the implementation of Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Simple Aircraft materials in everyday life is in the category of lacking, (2) The level of understanding of the concept of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students after implementing Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Aircraft material in everyday life is in the very good category, (3) Increased understanding of the concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students after implementing Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Aircraft material in everyday life is in the high category. (4) The understanding of science concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung Makassar students significantly improved after the implementation of E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom.
