Abstract

Internationalization has grown from an insignificant challenge to a crucial priority in recent decades, becoming a vital part of global higher education systems. The key objevtive of this study was to investigate the relationship between physical activity and life satisfaction among international students attending Indonesian institutions in Java. Importance to promoting their overall well being and adaptation in a foreign academic evironmentThis study included 220 foreign students (121 (55%) male, aged 18 to 52, mean age 26.7 and SD = 5.9 years old) from various countries who were studying at several institutions in Java, Indonesia. Physical activity data were collected using IPAQ(International Physical Activity Questionnaire), and life satisfaction was measured using the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The non probability convenience sampling method used to collect the data and pearson statistical used to analysis the correlation between life satisfaction and physical activity. The findings showed that life satisfaction and physical activity were strongly positively correlated, with a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) of 0.806, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.63, indicating that variations in physical activity levels account for 63% of the variance in life satisfaction. A p-value of 0.002, well below the conventional threshold of 0.05, validated the statistical significance of this association. Regular physical exercise was associated with better levels of life satisfaction among international students. These results emphasise how important it is to include physical exercise in daily routines in order to increase foreign students' life satisfaction. To further understand the basic processes and show how physical activity and life satisfaction are related in this student population, more study is required.

Abstract

Abstract

Stunting in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost (3T) areas remains a serious challenge due to limited monitoring of the satisfaction of beneficiaries of multidimensional prevention programs. This study aims to develop a PRO-STUNT 3T model with a multidimensional model (socio-economic, cultural, educational, and health aspects to optimize stunting prevention policies. The specific objectives are to assess the level of beneficiary satisfaction and analyze the factors that influence it in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The research method used a mixed-method approach with a sample of 100 respondents selected through stratified consecutive random sampling from five health centers, the quantitative results were then studied in more depth to enrich the qualitative context. The results showed that 99% of beneficiaries were satisfied with the program, but 8–14% highlighted the limitations of physical facilities (tangibles) and empathy of officers, as well as the dominance of participation by mothers with junior high school education (78%) which has the potential to hinder nutritional literacy. Other findings revealed the program's focus on First 1,000 Days of Life (36% of children aged 0–12 months) but ignored the age group >60 months (4%) who are vulnerable to long-term impacts. Longitudinal studies are needed to evaluate the relationship between community satisfaction and reduced stunting prevalence in the 3T area.

Abstract

As people age, muscle fibers tend to shrink and muscle mass decreases. This reduction in muscle mass directly affects muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility, which in turn impacts overall physical fitness in the elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility among members of the TERA exercise group in the DIY. This research employed a descriptive method using a survey approach. The method used in this study is a survey method with data collection techniques through tests and measurements. The instruments used include Strength (Arm Curl Test), Endurance (2-Minute Step Test), and Flexibility (Chair Sit and Reach Test). The subjects in this study were 27 female members of the TERA gymnastics group in the DIY, selected using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique employed was frequency analysis presented in percentage form. The data analysis, presented in percentages, showed that muscle strength for the majority of participants fell into the above average category, with 26 individuals (96%), while 1 individual (4%) was in the normal category. For muscle endurance, 21 participants (72%) were in the above average category, and 6 (22%) were in the normal category. Regarding flexibility, 23 participants (86%) were categorized as above average, 2 (7%) as normal, and 2 (7%) as below average. The conclusion of this study found that the variables of muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility fall into the above-average category, which can be interpreted as good.
