Abstract

The training model in improving a pencak silat athlete's abilities is an important factor, because an inappropriate training model will have a bad impact on the technique being trained. For example, the training model given to the fighters is not varied or is interpreted as a monotonous training method, this has a direct impact on the fighters, for example they are lazy about training and do not experience changes. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of plyometric training on the speed of T kicks in silat martial arts at the 1945 Teachers' Association University, East Nusa Tenggara. In this research, researchers used a one-group pre-test and post-test design with a quantitative experimental method approach. The number of samples in this study was 20 martial artists. Data collection techniques in this research used tests and non-tests. Non-tests include observation, interviews and documentation, then the test method uses two plyomteric training methods. The data analysis technique in this research uses the t-test analysis system. The results of this research prove that based on the results of the calculation of the data in this study, it shows that there is a change in the speed of the T kick in the fighters. With the posttest results, if you look at the pre-test average, it is 21.93 and the post-test value is 23.86%. Based on these results, it was stated that there was an influence of plyometric training, the form of training of which was squat split jump and stride jump crossover, the speed of Pencak Silat T kicks. Based on the categorization of the final test results, the speed of Pencak Silat T kicks performed by the silat fighters was in the Good category.

Abstract

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art characterized by rapid kicks. In the combat category, technical ability is the key to success in gaining points. The aphurigi technique (axe kick) is one of the important techniques in taekwondo because the technique gives a point contribution of around 20% in the match. Thus, it is necessary to investigate kinematic analysis to determine the kinematic parameters that contribute to the success of the aphurigi (axe kick) kick technique. 24 athletes were involved in this research, divided into 2 groups, namely the national level group and the regional group. All samples performed aphurigi kicks, then recorded using a camera and analyzed using skill spector software in 2 dimensions. There are 6 parameters analyzed consisting of kick speed, hip position, angular speed, and kick range. From the measurements that have been carried out, the results show that national-level athletes have significant differences compared to regional athletes in kick speed in the upswing phase, p-0.003, hip position, p-0.045, and knee angle in the upswing phase, p-0.026. However, there were no significant differences in other parameters, including kick speed in the upswing phase, kick range, and knee angle in the upswing phase. The results show the importance of a specific training program to train kinematic parameters that can influence aphurigi kick performance, therefore amateur athletes can master effective kick techniques and compete at the national level.

Abstract

The elderly will become vulnerable, apart from not being equipped with basic knowledge of specific physical activities to overcome the storm of aging symptoms, especially if psychological support is very lacking, this will clearly burden the body and soul of the elderly. Innovation in physical exercise models for the elderly needs to bridge the void of varied exercise in suppressing aging which is a healthy spirit for the elderly. This study investigate how innovations in the influence of active and functional exercise can have a positive influence on reducing symptoms of degenerative diseases. Method: The research used a pre test and post test design. Instruments for measuring fitness include 30 second-Chair stand (number of stands), Chain Sit Reach (inches +/-), Back Scratch (inches +/-), 8-Foot Up Go (seconds). Analysis of statistical data calculations using normality, homogeneity and paired t-test. The effect of active training and functional exercise which aims to improve fitness (strength and balance) so that the elderly are motivated to do physical exercise with exercise levels that are appropriate to the elderly's abilities. Development of an exercise model that is carried out with light-moderate intensity, duration/time of exercise is not too long, only around 20 to 30 minutes, exercise intensity is light, very simple movements are carried out in three positions, namely sitting, standing and lying down (supine and prone). The training model carried out is also a form of coordination that is close to daily activities. The physical training model, active training and functional exercise, is stated to have an effect on improving physical fitness (with the results of data analysis with the help of SPSS. Based on the results of the paired t test and Wilcoxon, the overall p value (sig.) for all variables is 0.000. The significance value is 0.000 0.05, then there is a significant influence.
