Abstract

The Ministry of Health has estimated that by 2035, 65% of the population will reside in urban areas, particularly in 16 major cities in Indonesia. The increasing population leads to a continuous rise in food demand. In this context, aquaponics emerges as one solution to reduce the food demand for urban residents. Through the aquaponic system, two commodities can be produced simultaneously: vegetables and fish. However, conventional aquaponic systems require significant labor and time, as one must always be present to perform maintenance processes. Therefore, a smart automation system for monitoring and controlling based on Arduino is needed. The research method used is the Research and Development program for Arduino. The variables in this Arduino-based smart aquaponic automation system are monitoring and controlling variables. The monitoring system involves monitoring the humidity of the growing media, temperature, water TDS, and water pH, which are displayed on an LCD, while the controlling system regulates the humidity level of the growing media using pumps and lights. The measurement results from this monitoring system show an error value of 0.49% for the temperature sensor, 0.95% for the humidity sensor, 0.12% for the TDS sensor, and 1.64% for the pH sensor. The results of the sensor testing indicate errors, with the error values being 0.49% for the temperature sensor, 0.95% for the soil moisture sensor, 0.12% for the TDS sensor, and 1.64% for the pH sensor. Additionally, the pump and lights can operate automatically using a fuzzy control system.

Abstract

Plants that are often used to make herbal medicine, especially to strengthen the immune system, include herbs containing red ginger, lime, and cinnamon. Based on the herbal medicine, there are ingredients that are often added for freshness, namely lime. Although fresh plants can be used, these basic ingredients can also rot quickly if not used immediately. Meta Industri Cikarang Polytechnic has superior products in the field of herbal medicine, one of the ingredients added to the potion is lime. In order to develop fresh herbal products into herbal medicines in dry form, it is necessary to dry the herbal ingredients according to the quality requirements of the herbal medicine. The research method used is experimental, the lime fruit sample came from the Cikarang Traditional Market, Bekasi. The process of making herbal medicine is carried out by drying using a food dehydrator at a temperature of 60 ℃ for 48 hours, producing dry herbal medicine that is orange-brown in color, has a distinctive lime odor, and a slightly bitter sour taste. The sample is in the form of slices 3.7 cm long and 3.2 cm wide, with the same colored powder that feels slightly sticky. Identification fragments include pericarp, vascular bundles with ladder thickening, covering hairs, endosperm, endocarp parenchyma, prism calcium oxalate crystals, and oil drops. Chemical identification shows the content of alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, and saponins. Abstract

The manufacturing industry has a strategic role in driving national economic growth through increased added value and export contributions. One of the companies engaged in this sector is PT Prima Anugrah Teknik, which produces NJUT6 Knuckle Joint components from stainless steel using CNC Milling machines and hydraulic ramps. In May, the company targeted production of 520 units, but was only able to produce 416 units. The low production output was caused by an inefficient machining process due to the use of conventional clamping tools that often caused dimensional inaccuracies and product defects. This research aims to improve production efficiency and quality through the design and implementation of jigs and fixtures as aids in the machining process. The design process begins with design creation using SolidWorks 2018 software, followed by machining programming using Mastercam and Cimco, thorough assembly of components through the welding process, and direct testing on a CNC Milling machine. The results showed a significant increase in production efficiency, where the machining time for every 4 units of NJUT6 could be shortened to 18 minutes. In addition, the use of jigs and fixtures was able to reduce defect rates, improve dimensional precision, and simplify the installation process. The implications of this research show that the development of production aids such as jigs and fixtures can be an effective solution in overcoming efficiency problems in the manufacturing industry, and can be replicated on other production lines to increase productivity and competitiveness.

Abstract

Breakdown time is one of the events that must be minimized, even eliminated in every production process in the manufacture sector. PT X as one of the national steel producers also strives to optimize the production process, considering that the capital needed to produce steel is relatively high. Breakdown time needs to be analysed properly to get the right and accurate solution. One of the tools that can be used is fishbone diagram. Based on the data obtained, it is known that the two most dominant obstacles that occurred during the December - May period occurred in the Crop Shear and Flying Shear areas. In the Crop Shear area, it is known that the motor trips due to indications of overspeed, while in the Flying Shear area the motor works abnormally due to indications of a dead oil pump. Maintenance and repair actions are then designed based on the results of the analysis obtained to anticipate the original occurrence in the future through corrective and preventive maintenance.

Abstract

The cultural significance of Indonesian woven fabrics intricately patterned by hand is dampened by slow, expensive automatic motif recognition processes. This research aimed to build a system that automatically detects and identifies motifs in textiles using image processing in MATLAB. The steps included collecting and preprocessing images, constructing a dataset, performing image comparison and similarity measurements, and color analysis. A dataset containing images of woven fabrics from different regions of Indonesia was created which included region-specific motifs. Images were enhanced through preprocessing and motif features were extracted through preprocessing. Determining the degree of correlation enabled features to be compared with the dataset, while color analysis tailored color characterization to specific motifs. The algorithm was able to detect motifs accurately using dataset references. The resemblance of motifs was greatly enhanced using color analysis. The approach is efficient and reliable for technology-aided culture preservation compared with manual methods. The analysis confirmed advanced MATLAB automation systems broadened opportunities in motif recognition within traditional textiles beyond automated processes, emphasizing the need for a detailed exploration of textile research projects

Abstract

This study explores the potential of corn cobs as an alternative raw material for environmentally friendly tissue paper production. Corn cobs are rich in cellulose but contain lignin, which must be removed through a delignification process. In this research, soda delignification was applied with varied durations (30, 60, and 90 minutes), combined with the use of dextrin as a binding agent at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The resulting tissue paper was evaluated based on Indonesian National Standards (SNI), focusing on tensile strength, water absorbency, sheet integrity, and grammage. The results showed that a delignification time of 60–90 minutes combined with 10–15% dextrin produced the best quality tissue paper. The sample treated for 60 minutes with 15% dextrin exhibited the highest tensile strength (400 N/m), while the sample treated for 90 minutes with 5% dextrin achieved the highest water absorbency (114 mm/10 minutes). These findings indicate that corn cob waste holds significant potential as a sustainable raw material for tissue paper production, supporting green manufacturing principles and agricultural waste valorization.

Abstract

Adequate drug availability is a crucial component of healthcare services at Community Health Centers. Drug shortages can disrupt services and reduce patient trust, while overstocking risks expiration and financial loss. The National Formulary (Fornas) serves as a reference for selected drugs to ensure treatment quality. However, its implementation in health facilities still faces challenges. This research aimed to analyze the conformity of drug availability with the National Formulary and the percentage of drug availability level at Y Community Health Center in 2024. The study applied a descriptive method with a retrospective approach. The population included all drugs available from January to December 2024, with a total of 94 types, using total sampling technique. Data were collected from drug stock cards and monthly drug usage reports (LPLPO). Data analysis was performed by comparing the drug list with the National Formulary and calculating drug availability levels based on stock coverage time. The results showed that the conformity rate of drug availability with the National Formulary was 98.94%. Meanwhile, the percentage of drug availability level was categorized as 36.56% insufficient, 24.73% safe, and 38.71% excessive. It is concluded that drug availability at Y Community Health Center has not met the standard indicator of 100% conformity with the National Formulary and 100% safe availability level. This condition indicates inefficiency in drug management planning, which can disrupt rational drug use. Improvements in drug planning and monitoring are recommended.
