Abstract

Noise due to traffic is one of the environmental pollution that commonly occurs in urban areas. One of the cases of noise pollution due to traffic occurs in housing located along Jalan Sunu, which is the primary local road in Makassar City. This road is the main access to the Ir. Sutami from the south of Makassar City. This study aims to determine the extent to which the current noise level is from the permitted quality standards, as well as to analyze the effect of the current availability of green open space on noise levels and to describe the role of green open space planning in reducing noise levels. This research was conducted from October 2019 to March 2020. Data were obtained from literature reviews and field observations. The analysis was carried out by calculating the equivalent noise level and statistical influence factor analysis in the form of multiple linear regression tests. The results showed that the current noise level, which is between 61.29 to 71.74 dB (A), has exceeded the quality standard for residential areas, namely 55 dB (A). The results of the multiple linear regression test show that the wider the green open space in the house yard and on the green lane of the road, the lower the exposure to traffic noise into the dwelling. The concept of green open space arrangement in reducing noise levels that can be applied, including placing vines and lush shrubs along the residential fence, planting vegetation at least 25%, ideally 75%, border areas and green lines, increasing the land cover ratio in the form of shrubs / shrubs, trees, and other types of vegetation that have a height and leaf cover that have the potential to be an optimal noise barrier.

Abstract

Lamputang Island is one of the small islands in Pangkep Regency, with a total population of 439 people. Based on statistics, this island has changed its shape and area every year, since 2013-2018 this island has changed an area of 1.1 hectares. This study aims to determine the level of the threat of abrasion based on physical characteristics on Lamputang Island, the level of vulnerability of the abrasion area based on settlement patterns on Lamputang Island and the direction of settlement arrangement based on abrasion mitigation on Lamputang Island. This research was conducted from June 2019 to February 2020. This research is located on Lamputang Island, Pangkep Regency. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative methods, quantitative threats and vulnerabilities and spatial. The results showed that Lamputang Island was at a moderate level of threat and high vulnerability, with a random settlement pattern. The direction for settlement arrangement on this island is in the form of zoning for areas prone to abrasion, settlement mitigation, and arrangement of settlement patterns.

Abstract

Lolai is a new tourism development area in the last two years in North Toraja Regency. The significant increase in the number of Lolai tourists can have a negative impact on the surrounding environment and the sustainability of the ecosystem in it. This study aims to determine the level of sustainability of the natural tourism area of Lolai based on economic, social and environmental aspects, as well as to identify the determining factors that influence it. This research was conducted from December 2019 to May 2020. This research is located in To`tombi, Bukit Nato, and Tongkonan Lempe which are tourist attractions in the Lolai area. Data collection was carried out through observation, documentation, interviews, distribution of questionnaires, literature study and through related agencies. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods supported by the rapfish application in the Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) model and leverage, as well as prospective analysis. The results showed that overall the three tourist objects were in the less sustainable category. In To'tombi tourism object, the economic aspect is quite sustainable, while the social and environmental aspects are less sustainable. In Nato Hill, the economic, social, and environmental aspects are classified as less sustainable. In Tongkonan Lempe, the economic aspect is quite sustainable, while the social and environmental aspects are in the less sustainable category. The main factors that affect the assessment of the sustainability of the natural tourism area of Lolai are access for local communities and community participation (economic aspects), visitor satisfaction (social aspects), and processing of liquid waste and reducing solid waste (environmental aspects).

Abstract

Palopo is a coastal city that has experienced excessive exploitation of fishery resources and decreased income from the fisheries sector. This condition does not support the realization of the minapolitan vision as stipulated in the Palopo City Spatial Planning (RTRW). This study aims to determine the potential and problems related to fishery resources, human resources, facilities, infrastructure and the level of vulnerability to natural disasters, as well as to recommend minapolitan zoning directions in the coastal area of Palopo City in improving the regional economy. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis, Location Quotient (LQ), employment, Likert scale and spatial. This research took place from October 2019-March 2020. This research is located in Palopo City. The results showed that fishery resources in Palopo City experienced a decline in production due to an increase in population. Of the five coastal districts, three of them have a capture fishery base and two are aquaculture, but the highest fishery production currently is the aquaculture sub-sector. The aspect of human resources shows that 70% of the total population of each sub-district is a ready-to-work population with the largest number of fishermen in the East Wara District. The facilities and infrastructure in this city have a sufficient level of availability of fishery facilities at this time. The location that has a low level of natural disaster vulnerability is Wara Timur District. In improving the fishery sector in this city, zoning in the coastal area is divided into three parts, namely the core, support and marketing zones.

Abstract

The availability of educational facilities and an unbalanced number of children iniprimary school age, there are also residental areas that were not covered yet by radius of service coverage. This research aims to 1) Discover the demand of elementary school service based on capacity and range of service; 2) To understand the level of importance of the parameters to determine the location of elementary school; 3) Determine the potential of new elementary school location with zoning system support. The Analytical method used to explore the elementary school sevice was spatial method based on Geographic Information System. Meanwhile the parameter of school location determined by Analytical Hiearcy Process with expert choices. Determining potential school location was done by using grid based analysis by dividing research area into several 50x50 meters grid and rate grid condition. Final accumulative value presented there are 391 potential grids for elementary school in the research area. Potential location were then distributed into 19 sub districts in the research area.

Abstract

High levels of waste productivity, illegal waste disposal, poor quality of waste facilities, and waste transportation system that has not been running optimally are problems that occur in Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency. The study aimed to identify and actualize an ideal concept of waste transportation in terms of route, mode, and schedule. The research was started from November 2019 to May 2020. This research is located in Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency. Data collection methods are done primarily through observation, interviews, field survey, and documentation. Secondary data was obtained from literatures study and agencies visit. Analysis was done by using synthesis of literatures study, projected population and waste generation, the needs of waste transfer station analysis, waste transportation analysis, and spatial analysis. This study found the concept of waste transportation that will be applied, such as: the alternative route for transporting wastes to Pabentengang Landfill utilizing Jalan Poros Pangkabinanga thus saving ±1 km of distance and 2-3 minutes of travel time, schedule of transporting waste will be done every day above 22.00 to 07.00. in order to minimize the obstacles, and 2 units of waste truck are needed in 2028, 2033, dan 2038 with 3 times transportation ration and improving the quality of waste transportation mode.
