Abstract

THE ROLE OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS AND WORK MOTIVATION IN SHAPING TEACHER DISCIPLINE THROUGH ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT Abstract This study aims to analyze the role of principals' transformational leadership and work motivation in shaping teacher discipline through organizational commitment. The research focuses on how transformational leadership, work motivation, and organizational commitment integratively shape teacher discipline as a form of professional awareness, not merely administrative compliance. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, utilizing library research methods. Data were gathered from academic journals and scholarly books relevant to the research focus. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis and thematic synthesis to identify patterns of relationships between variables in an integrative manner. The findings indicate that principals' transformational leadership acts as a primary catalyst in enhancing teachers' intrinsic motivation through shared vision, role modeling, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. A strong sense of work motivation subsequently reinforces organizational commitment, particularly affective and normative commitment, which functions as an internal mechanism in fostering voluntary and sustainable teacher discipline. Discipline does not emerge as a direct consequence of administrative control but rather as a result of the internalization of values and emotional attachment to the school. Improving teacher discipline necessitates integrative leadership practices that strengthen both motivation and organizational commitment, allowing discipline to develop as sustainable professional awareness. This research recommends strengthening principals' capacity to implement transformational leadership, enhancing motivating professional development programs, and creating a school culture that fosters a sense of belonging and teacher commitment.

Analysis of the Role of Social Support in Adolescent Confidence Levels Abstract. This study is motivated by the importance of adolescence as a critical phase in the development of self-confidence, during which many adolescents still experience doubts about their abilities. The study aims to analyze the role of social support in adolescent self-confidence. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological method was employed to explore the experiences of students at MAN 2 Kota Banjarmasin. The informants consisted of six individuals selected through purposive sampling based on different levels of self-confidence. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that social support from family, peers, and teachers plays a significant role in shaping self-confidence through attention, acceptance, and motivation. Adolescents who receive adequate social support tend to be more confident, active, and willing to face challenges, while a lack of support is associated with self-doubt and social anxiety. The findings highlight the importance of guidance and counseling services in optimizing social support to enhance adolescents’ self-confidence development. Future research is recommended to involve a larger number of participants and explore additional variables to obtain more comprehensive findings.

Abstract

THE ROLE OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP IN DEVELOPING A TEACHING FACTORY TO IMPROVE STUDENT COMPETENCE Vocational High Schools (SMK) are required to produce graduates relevant to the needs of the Business and Industrial World (DUDI). One key strategy for bridging the competency gap is through the implementation of Teaching Factories (TeFa). This study analyzes the leadership role of vocational high school principals in developing Teaching Factories (TeFa) through the integration of Total Quality Management (TQM) and a collaborative culture to improve student competency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results indicate that principal leadership is a key driver through four strategic pillars: (1) aligning the vision with industry needs, (2) implementing quality management in the production process, (3) strengthening a collaborative culture among teachers, and (4) optimizing the budget for industry-standard facilities. This synergy has been proven to significantly improve students' hard and soft skills. The success of TeFa depends heavily on the principal's managerial capacity in transforming the school's organizational culture into an industrial work culture. This study recommends strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit of principals to support the sustainability of vocational education.

Abstract

IMPLEMENTING THE DEEP LEARNING APPROACH THROUGH EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER CHILDREN'S CRITICAL THINKING AT TK GOLDEN KIDS SENTOSA PALEMBANG Critical thinking skills need to be stimulated from an early age so children can observe, ask questions, and draw simple conclusions from their learning experiences. This article describes the implementation of the Deep Learning approach through exploration activities to stimulate the critical thinking skills of Group B1 children at TK Golden Kids Sentosa Palembang. The activities were carried out through an 11-week School Field Introduction Program (PLP) covering observation, teaching assistance, and independent teaching practice involving 28 children. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through participatory observation, documentation, and field notes across six learning sessions themed Universe and Communication Tools. The results show that implementing the Deep Learning approach through exploration and simple experiments—such as observing the moon and stars, a volcanic-eruption experiment, rainbow bubbles, a lightning simulation, and making a cardboard telephone—encouraged children to be more active in observing, asking questions, expressing opinions, making predictions, comparing objects, and drawing simple conclusions. This development occurred gradually, although the level of critical thinking varied among children. Supporting factors included guidance from the cooperating teacher and supervising lecturer, adequate facilities, and children's enthusiasm, while inhibiting factors related to differences in children's characteristics, limited time, and the writer's limited teaching experience. It is concluded that the Deep Learning approach through exploration activities contributes positively to the development of early childhood critical thinking skills.

Abstract

ANALYSIS OF THE ROLE OF PARENTS IN THE TENDENCY OF BULLYING BEHAVIOR This study aims to analyze the role of parents in adolescents' tendency toward bullying behavior by examining parental affection, attention, parenting style, family dynamics, and emotional availability. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving school counselors, parents, students, and school records. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis supported by NVivo 12 Pro, while data credibility was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that although parents adequately fulfill their children's physical and educational needs, emotional needs remain insufficiently addressed. Family communication tends to be one-way, emotional relationships lack warmth, parenting practices emphasize control through reprimands and punishment rather than dialogue, and parental supervision has not fully captured the children's social experiences. As a result, children receive limited emotional support, have fewer opportunities to express their problems, and lack positive models for constructive conflict resolution. The study concludes that low emotional warmth, limited open communication, authoritarian parenting tendencies, and inadequate parental supervision contribute to adolescents' tendency to engage in bullying behavior. Therefore, bullying prevention should focus on strengthening parenting quality, fostering open family communication, and increasing parents' emotional involvement in their children's development.

Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGEMENT STANDARDS FOR SCHOOL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT This study examines the implementation of national management standards (Management Standards) to improve the quality of schools in two public elementary schools in Mataram City, Indonesia, namely SDN 15 Mataram and SDN 36 Mataram. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and staff, and document analysis, then processed using interactive models of individual case analysis and cross-case analysis. Data validity is guaranteed through triangulation of sources and techniques. The findings show that although both schools experience a shortage of qualified educators, they differ in planning, implementation, and supervision results. SDN 15 Mataram shows more structured facility management and more frequent internal supervision, while SDN 36 Mataram is constrained by less strategic locations, infrastructure gaps such as the absence of libraries, and lower staff professionalism. To overcome these obstacles, the two schools have developed concrete follow-up plans: SDN 15 Mataram schedules regular principal-teacher mentoring and establishes numeracy learning corners, while SDN 36 Mataram prioritizes budget allocation for urgent facilities and expands extracurricular programs. The results of the study highlight the important role of school principal leadership in translating management standards into improving the quality of education.

Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE "MAKE A MATCH" EDUCATIONAL MODEL AS A GROUP GUIDANCE SERVICE STRATEGY TO IMPROVE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS' SOCIAL SKILLS This study aimed to improve the social skills of junior high school students through the implementation of the Make a Match educational model in group guidance services. The study employed a Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) design involving eight eighth-grade students with low social skills. The research was conducted in three cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and social skills assessment instruments, and analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results indicated that the implementation of the Make a Match educational model gradually improved students' activity and social skills. The average student activity increased from 65.94% (fair category) in Cycle I to 95.31% (very good category) in Cycle II and reached 98.75% (very good category) in Cycle III. Improvements were also found across all social skill indicators, including communication, cooperation, empathy, social participation, and self-control, supported by interview findings from the guidance and counseling teacher, homeroom teacher, and students, which confirmed positive changes in students' social behavior. These findings indicate that the Make a Match educational model is effective as a strategy in group guidance services to improve junior high school students' social skills. However, the study was limited by the small number of participants and its implementation in a single school, which restricts the generalizability of the findings.
