Abstract

With the rapid advancement of information technology and increased internet access in Indonesia, citizens' participation in the digital realm has grown substantially. Digital citizens' presence is crucial in the 2024 Presidential Election, playing a pivotal role in disseminating political information, influencing public opinion, and providing support to candidates. This study examines the digital citizens' discourse on presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs in the 2024 election in the digital public sphere. The method of issue analysis employs topic modeling with keywords "anies & muhaimin," "ganjar & mahfud," and "prabowo & gibran" on social media platform X. The research findings indicate that the discourse is clustered for each candidate pair. Narratives of support and optimism predominantly characterize the Anies-Muhaimin pair. The Ganjar-Mahfud pair exhibits clusters covering volunteer support, constitutional narratives, development aspirations, uniform buzzer narratives, and support from figures such as Yenny Wahid and advocacy for Palestine. The Prabowo-Gibran pair has clusters discussing support from the younger generation, political dynasty issues, PDIP reactions, and buzzer strategies with massive hashtags. Digital citizens engage in organized and diverse discourses regarding presidential and vice-presidential candidates, emphasizing the importance of understanding these dynamics to ensure responsible participation in the digital political process.

Abstract

Education is the main key to human resource development, enabling individuals to improve their abilities and skills in the formal and non-formal domains, compete, and develop potential in the world of work. However, significant challenges arise for higher education graduates, where some of them experience open unemployment because they have not been fully absorbed in the labor market. This research is focused on the concept of human resource development inclusiveness in the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesian Higher Education. This study used a literature study approach, referring to previously published research. The analysis was conducted to explore the extent of higher education's impact on the open unemployment rate and how changes in curriculum and learning methods could help overcome these challenges. It was hoped that the results of this study could contribute to further understanding of the relationship between higher education and open unemployment, as well as provide insights into solutions that can be implemented to improve the employability of graduates in the labor market.

Abstract

This study examines virtual multicultural community encounters within Yogyakarta-based schools, focusing on their effects on the younger generation's comprehension of multiculturalism. Conducted in several schools, including SMAN 1 Wates and SMKN 2 Yogyakarta, using descriptive qualitative methods and purposive selection of Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers, it gathered data through various means like interviews and focus group discussions. The research identified a significant impact of online encounters on participants' knowledge, awareness, understanding, and behavior towards multicultural communities, facilitated by virtual meetings aimed at fostering understanding and consensus. Crucial to this implementation was the influence of the majority-minority dynamic, with the predominance of Islam and Javanese culture being notable. The study underscores the value of these virtual encounters in promoting collaborative activities among diverse identities, highlighting a four-layered impact model. The research aims to both describe the practical implementation of these encounters and evaluate their substantive effects on young minds regarding multicultural understanding, suggesting a path forward for similar educational initiatives.

Abstract

Disaster management is a critical component of national development, particularly in the aftermath of natural disasters. The relocation process of liquefaction disaster survivors in Petobo, located in South Palu, Central Sulawesi, underscores the pivotal role of the government in safeguarding Indonesian citizens' rights, including providing adequate housing within a healthy and secure environment. This research was conducted in the wake of the disaster with the primary objective of evaluating the legal protection and human rights afforded to survivors residing in Petobo Village, which has been designated as a red zone due to the severity of the disaster. The study uncovered significant damage to infrastructure, loss of life, and ecosystem degradation as direct consequences of the disaster. These findings underscore the government's obligation to provide permanent housing (hence HUNTAP) to fulfill the basic needs of survivors. Providing decent housing is fundamental to ensuring the well-being and dignity of every citizen affected by the disaster. Moreover, it aligns with the core principles of citizenship and human rights, which are essential for fostering sustainable and harmonious communities, particularly in regions grappling with the aftermath of natural calamities. Shortly, the relocation of liquefaction disaster survivors in Petobo, South Palu, Central Sulawesi, highlights the government's pivotal role in safeguarding its citizens' rights, especially in times of crisis. By prioritizing permanent housing and ensuring a healthy and secure environment for survivors, the government demonstrates its commitment to upholding human rights and fostering resilient communities in disaster-affected areas.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a hybrid reflective micro-teaching model. The research method used is a type of research and development referring to the Borg and Gall R&D Cycle. The research results from reflection sheets indicate that some students could perceive the teaching for themselves. This is evidenced by the correspondence between friend's assessments and the results of their reflections. However, some students seemed less attuned to what was being taught. Peer observations and reflection on students' learning indicate a promising potential for improvement in students' self-assessment. For instance, some students reflected "good" in planning and implementing materials but couldn't demonstrate their abilities accordingly. Limited trials of the Reflective Microteaching model indicate a tendency for students to respond positively to the model. Observations using various instruments also show an inclination toward better understanding and increased awareness of learning planning and implementation. Nonetheless, there are still discrepancies between reflection results and friends' observations.

Abstract

During the pandemic, learning policies have transformed face-to-face to online-based learning. Technology and information play a crucial role in learning infrastructure, sources of teaching materials, tools, learning facilities, and learning media. The activeness of parents in accompanying children dramatically influences the effectiveness of learning activities, which ultimately contributes to maximum results. This research explored the characteristics of parental assistance and the problems that arose in online learning of Citizenship Education subjects in Jaya Mekar Padalarang Village. The results show that the home learning policy is considered burdensome by parents. Some reasons include difficulty managing time between working and guiding children, lack of adequate communication facilities, difficulty understanding lesson material, and inability to use technological devices. In this context, finding solutions or strategies that can help parents overcome these challenges is important. However, it's crucial to stress that with the right support and training, parents can significantly improve their support for their children's online learning. This effort can increase parents' active participation in supporting their children's online learning and inspire a positive change in the online education landscape.

Abstract

Polygamy among teenagers is an uncommon phenomenon in Indonesia, but it is prevalent in Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. There are underlying factors contributing to this concerning trend among teenagers, which worries parents and continues to rise annually due to its potential impact on a child's future. Unfortunately, families often feel compelled to accept early polygamous marriages due to concerns about family honor. Despite the strict process mandated by family law, societal attitudes undermine this, leading to significant risks for those involved. Furthermore, the government's influence in implementing effective measures seems limited, highlighting an apparent lapse in civic responsibility. Therefore, this research aims to delve into the factors driving teenage polygamy and explore potential solutions that the local government and the community could pursue. The research methodology involves a qualitative approach with a focus on case studies. Purposive sampling was used to select 36 respondents, including ten polygamous teenage husbands, ten first wives, ten second wives, and six community figures. Data was collected through in-depth interviews. The research findings reveal a significant increase in teenage polygamous marriages in Musi Banyuasin Regency over the past decade. Factors contributing to this trend include premarital pregnancy, family economic conditions, societal misconceptions, and the influence of the polygamous environment.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the UNIMUDA Sorong, one of the multicultural campuses in Papua. This research aimed to measure the level of application and understanding of students at the Department of Pancasila and Citizenship Education, Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (hence: UNIMUDA) Sorong, in strengthening the existence of multiculturalism values in the academic environment. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects and objects of this research were conducted in the Department of Pancasila and Citizenship Education. The results of this study indicated that the value of multiculturalism had been integrated into the department's curriculum. Besides, students from various ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds could apply the value of multiculturalism to the Papuan environment. Then, students believed that citizenship within the scope of multiculturalism played the most important role in advancing the diversity of Indonesians, so diversity is not a source of conflict but rather for mutual tolerance and mutual respect in building the foundation of Indonesia's ethnic diversity.
