Abstract

Objective:  This article aims to analyze methods for assessing economic potential, evaluate key financial and production indicators, and propose practical approaches for agricultural enterprises to enhance their efficiency in Uzbekistan, where the strategic importance of rural development and food security is rising. Method: The study utilized systematic, comparative, statistical, and econometric methods to analyze production capacities, financial stability, profitability, and resource utilization. Result: Findings demonstrate that effective economic analysis must integrate quantitative assessments, such as liquidity and solvency ratios, with qualitative approaches including SWOT, PEST, and GAP analyses. Production capacity evaluation methods, such as monetary valuation, index, and resource-regression approaches, were identified as crucial for strategic planning. The research offers a holistic framework combining financial, production, and biological potential assessments, emphasizing the role of innovative and diversification strategies in strengthening enterprise resilience. Novelty: Despite existing studies, comprehensive methodological frameworks for evaluating economic potential that consider sector-specific factors remain underdeveloped in Uzbekistan, and this study contributes a synthesized, integrative framework tailored specifically to the agricultural sector to support evidence-based decision-making.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of health, education, and the labor force participation rate (LFPR) on labor productivity in the ten most productive regencies/cities in East Java during the 2019–2023 period. Method: Employing a log-log panel data regression approach using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), the study investigates the effects of Life Expectancy (LE), Average Length of Schooling (ALS), and LFPR on labor productivity, which is measured by the ratio of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to the working population. Results: The findings reveal that LE and ALS exert a positive and statistically significant impact on productivity, reinforcing Becker and Grossman’s Human Capital theory. In contrast, LFPR demonstrates a negative and significant effect, suggesting that increased labor participation has not been matched by improvements in worker quality. Novelty: The study contributes to the empirical literature by emphasizing that LFPR is not merely a control variable but a crucial independent determinant of labor productivity. This insight underscores the importance of parallel investments in health and education to ensure that rising labor force participation translates into sustainable productivity gains.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to investigate how social commerce, as a subset of online buying integrated with social media interaction, influences consumer behaviors such as repurchase intention and active engagement. Method: The research framework is grounded in Social Exchange Theory (SET) and the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), examining the relationships among social presence, trust, and customer engagement. Results: Findings indicate that social presence—defined as the perception of warm, personal, and authentic connections—plays a pivotal role in fostering trust, reducing online transaction risks, and enhancing customer loyalty. Furthermore, increased engagement within social commerce platforms was found to strengthen community growth and brand attachment, ultimately driving sustainable repurchasing behaviors. Novelty: This study contributes by addressing a critical gap in the literature concerning retention and loyalty beyond initial adoption, offering both theoretical insights and practical strategies for cultivating genuine online communities that transform satisfied consumers into long-term brand advocates.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the impact of occupational stigma on turnover intention among healthcare workers, with a focus on the mediating role of occupational self-esteem. Method: An integrated theoretical framework combining Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory, Social Identity Theory, and the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Model was employed to explain the psychological mechanisms underlying this relationship. Occupational stigma was conceptualized as a stressor that depletes personal resources, while occupational self-esteem was examined as a protective factor. Results: The findings reveal that occupational stigma significantly predicts turnover intention, but this effect is mediated by occupational self-esteem. Healthcare workers with higher levels of professional self-worth demonstrated greater resilience against stigma-induced resource depletion, thereby reducing disengagement and turnover intention. Novelty: This research advances the literature by introducing a comprehensive model that explicates how stigma translates into turnover through resource depletion processes and highlights occupational self-esteem as a critical buffer. The study provides actionable implications for healthcare institutions to design retention strategies through resilience-building, recognition systems, and supportive organizational cultures that mitigate stigma and foster employee well-being.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigated the effect of self-concept on the academic performance of secondary school students in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State, focusing on its relationship with academic outcomes, gender, and subject specialization. Method: A descriptive survey research design was employed, utilizing a validated instrument, the Self-Concept and Academic Performance Questionnaire (SCAPQ). A stratified random sampling technique selected 240 Senior Secondary School II students from six schools, with 228 valid responses analyzed. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, and independent samples t-tests at a 0.05 significance level. Results: Findings indicated a moderate, positive, and statistically significant relationship between self-concept and academic performance (r = 0.462, p < 0.05), while no significant differences were found across gender (t = 1.128, p = 0.260) or subject specialization (t = 0.559, p = 0.577). Novelty: This study contributes empirical evidence from Ikom L.G.A., highlighting self-concept as a universal academic resource that consistently supports students’ performance regardless of gender or discipline, and underscores the importance of targeted interventions in enhancing students’ self-beliefs for improved educational outcomes.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the role of financial security as a critical determinant of the stability and competitiveness of joint-stock companies, with a specific focus on Uzbekistan’s corporate experience. Method: Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, the research integrates a literature review with an analysis of real-world data, including capital structures, financial performance indicators, and regulatory developments affecting Uzbek joint-stock companies. Results: The findings show that firms with strong financial security—marked by capital adequacy, liquidity, solvency, and risk management—are more resilient to economic shocks and better able to pursue competitive growth strategies. Conversely, the decline in the number of joint-stock companies in the late 2000s reflects the consequences of stringent capital requirements and high leverage, while ongoing reforms in corporate governance and equity financing indicate progress toward improved financial stability and competitiveness. Novelty: The study contributes by contextualizing the concept of financial security within a transitional economy, demonstrating how financial resilience not only secures survival but also enhances market competitiveness, thereby offering theoretical insights and practical implications for corporate financial management in emerging markets.
