Abstract

The Constructive Alignment Model (CAM) has become a fundamental framework in higher education pedagogy, emphasizing the coherence between learning outcomes, teaching strategies, and assessment methods. This study aims to analyze the development of the Constructive Alignment model and its implementation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) within the Merdeka Curriculum framework in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with literature review methodology, this research examines various academic sources, journals, and relevant documents related to constructive alignment and the Merdeka Curriculum. The findings reveal that the Constructive Alignment model has evolved significantly from a theoretical concept to a practical framework widely applied in curriculum design. In the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, the implementation of constructive alignment in PAI subjects demonstrates the potential to enhance holistic student development, integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The research identifies that learning outcomes in PAI emphasize character development aligned with Pancasila values, while learning strategies incorporate participatory and project-based approaches. Assessment practices have shifted toward competency-based evaluation that encompasses ethical and behavioral dimensions. However, implementation gaps remain, including challenges in curriculum mapping and teacher training. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of how constructive alignment can be contextualized within religious education and provides practical recommendations for educators in designing aligned PAI curricula. The integration of Islamic values with contemporary pedagogical approaches offers a pathway for creating meaningful and effective learning experiences that prepare students to navigate a multicultural society while remaining grounded in their religious identity.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the process of Arabic language internalization in the daily lives of students at the Pabelan Islamic Boarding School, focusing on the stages of transformation, transaction, and transinternalization. This study employs a qualitative, descriptive approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving students, language coordinators, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and continuous conclusion-drawing, resulting in a comprehensive picture of the process of Arabic language use within the boarding school environment. The results indicate that the internalization of the Arabic language occurs gradually and continuously. During the transformation stage, students acquire foundational knowledge through a daily vocabulary instruction program. In the transaction stage, Arabic is used in social interactions through the repetition of vocabulary and daily conversations. As for the transinternalization stage, Arabic develops into a communication habit for students in their daily lives, supported by an active language environment and the role of language coordinators. These findings indicate that the success of Arabic language internalization is influenced by the integration of learning, language use practices, and consistent social environmental support.

Abstract

This study examines the thought of Abdullah Nashih ‘Ulwan in Tarbiyatul Aulad fil Islam through the lens of axiology and the Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin curriculum to understand the relevance of Islamic child education values in contemporary contexts. Arising from the need to integrate moral, spiritual, and humanistic values into curriculum development, this research aims to identify the foundational principles of child education according to ‘Ulwan and evaluate their contribution to constructing an Islamic curriculum oriented toward the common good. Using a qualitative library research approach and content analysis of ‘Ulwan’s work and supporting literature on educational axiology and the Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin paradigm, the study reveals that ‘Ulwan’s educational concept encompasses strengthening faith, cultivating morality, physical well-being, intellectual development, psychological stability, social competence, and sexual education, all of which axiology positions as essential to forming morally grounded individuals who contribute to civilization. Integration with the Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin perspective highlights the importance of a curriculum that is inclusive, humanistic, and transformative, emphasizing compassion, justice, and respect for human dignity. The study concludes that synthesizing ‘Ulwan’s ideas with the Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin paradigm can produce a comprehensive and contextually relevant model for Islamic child education that is adaptive to global challenges.
