Abstract

Tuberculosis or TBC is a type of chronic infectious disease caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The disease poses a serious threat to health regardless of age or gender. Individuals infected with this disease will experience symptoms such as coughing with sputum or blood, chest pain, and high fever. Transmission occurs through aerosols and droplets, allowing the bacteria to spread through the air and requires a minimum of 6 months of treatment for recovery. Therefore, The SITR (Suspectible-Infective-Treatment-Recovered) mathematical model with the Euler method is appropriately used in this article to describe the condition where infected individuals need treatment for recovery. The data analyzed comes from tuberculosis case reports collected by the South Sulawesi Regional Health Agency in 2015. This research has important relevance in understanding the dynamics of TB spread and provides a basis for the development of disease spread strategies. By using mathematical models, key factors affecting the spread of tuberculosis can be identified. Keywords: Mathematical Model, SITR Model, Dynamics of Spread, Tuberculosis.

Abstract

Danau Arena Dayung Tanjung Bunga (DADTB) Makassar is a man-made lake located in the middle of Tanjung Bunga recidency area, west of Makassar. The lake is prone to contaminants (e.g. nutrients) because of its location in a densed populated area and thewater input comes from the downstream of Jeneberang River. The quality of the lake surface water was assessed by measuring the physical and chemical water quality parameters (pH, DO, conductivity) for every 50cm to the lake bottom at 14 locations and estimated the chlorophyll, DOC and SUVA(specific ultraviolet absorbancein 254 nm)concentrationsin water samples taken at these substations. Theresults showed that physical and chemical water quality parametersvalues, chlorophyl and DOC concentrations DADTB in eutrophiccondition.

Abstract

The main problem of the study was how the internal factors (self concept of mathematics and learning motivation), external factors (parents’ guiding pattern and learning facility), mathematics learning achievement and interrelationship of those factors toward mathematics learning achievement of the tenth year students of public senior secondary school (SMA Negeri) in Makassar. The population of the research was the tenth year students of SMA Negeri in Makassar. The data was collected through 348 samples which were selected by stratified random sampling. Democratic scoring scale, learning facility, mathematics self concept, mathematics learning motivation, and structured-mathematics learning outcome test were used as instruments of the research. The procedureof analysis data was initially by validation test and instrument reliability by confirmatory factor analysis, followed by model verification through structural model of final stage. Finally, it was done a variable mediation analysis toward structural model of final stage. The result of the research showed that mathematics self concept of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri in Makassar was in medium category (26.17) while mathematics learning motivation of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri in Makassarwas in high category (47.34). Democratic guiding pattern of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri in Makassar was in good category (53.58) while learning facility of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri in Makassar was in very complete category. Mathematics learning outcome of the tenth year students of SMA Negeri was in low category. The result of the research supported the need of an aplicative model which describes the interrelationship of internal and external factor in explaining the students’ mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

In this paper, presented two special classes of ring, they are Noetherian Ring and Artinian Ring. Starting from the existence of a commutative ring which have ideal (left ideal and right ideal). If these ideal meet the of raising chain condition (ascending chain condition/ACC) then a class will form known as Noetherian Ring and if that ideal meet the dropping chain condition (descending chain condition/DCC) thena class will form known as Artinian Ring.Furthermore, defenition is also presented and the example of Noetherian ring and Artinian Ring. Moreover,a theorem given which explain the circumstances of the ring divider in a Noetherian ring.

Abstract

Problem solving skills are the main points that the students realized the important role of mathematics in the daily life.In addition, through problem solving students will be trained and encouraged to develop formal reasoning independently and free from the control of the conservative paradigm thinking process. Routine procedures and issues involve static learning process will itself abandoned by the students because through problem solving, exercise effectively manage thoughts, efficient, and flexible over emphasized.Students may say formal thinking if they can understand the problems that purely abstract, able to make hypotheses, handle well the problems permutations and combinations can think flexibly and flexible regardless of the procedural rules that have been studied. The mathematical principle is no longer an intellectual force for the student but rather a structure that has been terkonstruk with neat and useful. In the end, all the teachers and education practitioners will be aware that the transformation process of reasoning is a primary identity that should be the center of attention in improving the quality of education is not to memorize the concept as much as possible.

Abstract

Spatial statistics is a statistical approach that links data to the location of events. The most basic way to test whether data can be analyzed using spatial statistics is to find spatial dependence. Local spatial dependence is tested using Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA). This research aims to use a form of LISA, LocalMoran, to cluster and map epidemiological data, the number of tuberculosis (TB) cases in South Sulawesi. The data were provided by the Health Service of South Sulawesi Province and Statistics Indonesia of South Sulawesi Province. This research mapsTB infectious disease in South Sulawesi using Local Moran, as well as clustering area using K-Means. The distribution pattern of TB cases in South Sulawesi tended to be clustered and the areas that had significant spatial dependency were Makassar, Maros and Takalar. The positive Moran value in Makassar shows that the characteristics of TB cases in Makassar tended to be similar to its neighbor. Meanwhile, the negative Moran values in Maros and Takalar indicates that the characteristics of TB cases in both areas were not similar to their neighbors. The result of K-Means shows that the areas with the highest number of TB cases in South Sulawesi were Bone, Gowa and Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a numerical solution of the Susceptible-Exposed-Lifestyle-Recovered (SELR) model for diabetes cases among active students of FMIPA UNM. This SELR model is built based on certain assumptions, then an analysis is carriedout to determine the stability of the model, and simulations are carried out to predict the incidence rate of diabetes. This study is applied research, and the method used to obtain a numerical solution of the SELR model is the 4th Order Homotopy Perturbation Method, using secondary data. The results of this study include a numerical solution of the SELR model for diabetes cases with the Homotopy Perturbation Method, which shows that this model can predict the potential spread of diabetes among students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of nanoemulsion of moringa leaf extract (Moringa Oleifera Lamk.) on bacterial growth, antioxidant activity and wound healing potential in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The research methods include moringa extraction, making nanoemulsions at moringa leaf extract concentrations of 75, 100 and 125 milligrams. Characterization of nanoemulsion measurements using Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), testing antibacterial activity by measuring the diameter ofthe inhibition zone (mm), testing antioxidants with DPPH (1,1 diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) and measuring wound healing activity by determining the percentage of wound closure in rats. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) test followed by the Tukey test. Antioxidant activity obtained IC50 Formula 1 of 157.35 ppm, Formula 2 of 123.40 ppm, Formula 3 of 110.12 ppm, Moringa leaf extract of 58.63 ppm and BHA comparator of 6.84 ppm. Moringa leaf extract and nanoemulsion formula showed good wound healing activity which was faster than the positive control. It was found that Moringa leaf extract and nanoemulsion formula had antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The wound healing activity of the nanoemulsion formulation was good with the wound healing process in mice faster than the positive control.
