Abstract

Intervention model analysis is a statistical technique used to assess the impact of an intervention event, caused by internal or external factors, on a time series dataset. The primary goal of this analysis is to quantify the magnitude and duration of the effects on the time series. Intervention models are generally classifiedinto two types: step function and pulse function. The step function represents an intervention event with a long-term influence, while the pulse function captures the effects of an intervention within a specific time span. This study examines the stock price data of BBRI from March 2017 to June 2020, with the intervention point identified as the onset of COVID-19 in Indonesia, specifically during the first week of March (t = 155). ARIMA modeling was applied to pre-intervention data to determine the order of intervention (b, s, r). The analysis identifiedARIMA (2, 1, 0), as the best-fitting model, characterized by a step function intervention with parametersb = 0, s = 2, and r = 0. Theaccuracy of the forecasting results was evaluated using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), which yielded a value of 8.48%.

Abstract

This research aims to find out; 1. Land quality and characteristics, 2) Land suitability level. Using a GIS-based purposive sampling method, overlapping land use maps, slope maps, soil maps and landform maps. Using field and laboratory analysis data with data analysis techniques, namely matching. The research results show that; 1. The characteristics of the land in the Kaonisik watershed are that it is in a rather dry climate, with moderate air temperature; rooting media for good to obstructed soil drainage; clay to sandy soil texture; medium-deep effective depth; nutrient retention for medium-high soil CEC; Neutral soil pH; available nutrients for P2O5(available P) high-very high; K2O low-very low; N-total 0.06-0.22; Potential mechanisms for slopes from flat, sloping, slightly sloping/sloping, steep and very steep; erosion hazard none-moderate; There isn't much surface rock. The level of land suitability obtained is four classes, namely verysuitable (S1), quitesuitable (S2), marginallysuitable (S3)

Abstract

Indonesian people are most harmed by flood hydrometeorological disasters, which cause material and immaterial losses. Floods often occur in some areas of Makassar City due to high rainfall and the high density of people and buildings, especially in the rainy season. This study aims to find out: the rainfall variability in the city of Makassar for 7 years (2017-2023), a map of flood inundation areas in the city of Makassar for 7 years (2017-2023), and the relationship between rainfall variability to flood events using Google Earth Engine (GEE) in the city of Makassar. This study is quantitative descriptive, using correlation and regression analysis between rainfall variables and flood inundation area. A cloud-based processing approach. CHIRPS data was used for rainfall analysis in Makassar City (2017-2023), and Sentinel 1 to analyze the distribution of flood inundation. The results showed that 1) rainfall variability occurred in January, February, March, November, and March. With the highest coefficient of variance value with a value of 73% in November. 2) floods that often occur in the sub-districts of Manggala, Biringkanaya, Tamalate, Tamalanrea, and Rappocini. 3) There is a significant relationship between rainfall and events in Makassar City. Spatially there were 12 flood events, temporal flood events for 7 years (2017-2023) occurred in December, January, and February. The parameters in this study are limited to rainfall and flood inundation, for that the next study is to add various relevant parametersbased on Google Earth Engine.

Abstract

Research shows that female students are generally more susceptible to mathematics anxiety than male students, although some studies have found similar or higher levels of anxiety among males in certain contexts. The research gap lies in the need for further exploration of how the interaction between gender and geographical location influences the level of mathematics anxiety. This study aims to analyze the level of mathematical anxiety among junior high school students in Makassar and Malang, focusing on various aspects of mathematics anxiety and comparing these levels based on gender. The research method employed is a quantitative descriptive approach, involving 86 students from junior high schools in both cities. The instruments used include a mathematical anxiety identification test and a questionnaire that measures the four main aspects of anxiety. The results indicate that, overall, the mathematical anxiety of students in both cities falls within the moderate category across all analyzed aspects. Female students tend to experience higher levels of anxiety compared to male students, particularly in Malang, while in Makassar, male students exhibit slightly higher mathematical anxiety in several categories. This study highlights the need for self-regulated learning to reduce mathematics anxiety in both male and female students.

Abstract

This study analyzes the structural and electromagnetic wave absorption properties of Fe3O4nanoparticles (Fe3O4NPs) composite reinforced with reduced graphene oxide (rGO), synthesized from natural materials. The synthesis process involves the extraction of Fe3O4from natural iron sources and the reduction of graphene oxide derived from biomass. Structural characterization was conducted using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to confirm the formation and morphology of the Fe3O4NPs/rGO composite. Electromagnetic wave absorption properties were measured using a vector network analyzer (VNA) in the 8–12 GHz (X-band). The results show that the Fe3O4NPs/rGO composite exhibits excellent electromagnetic wave absorption with a minimum reflection loss value of -4 dB at a thickness of 2 mm. These findings highlight the potential of utilizing natural materials in developingefficient electromagnetic wave absorbers, contributing to advancements in sustainable material science.

Abstract

The escalation of sexual violence against children in Makassar City requires serious attention, particularly the role of parents in preventive interventions. This study aims to analyze parental interventions in preventing sexual violence against children in Makassar City. The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method. The sample consisted of 37 parents of Al-Azhar Kindergarten students selected using purposive sampling. Data collection used a Likert-scale questionnaire covering aspects of communication, supervision, sexual education, and preventive measures. Data analysis used descriptive statistics. The results showed a very high level of parental intervention with an average score of 89.3. Most respondents were mothers (70%), had a bachelor's degree (60%), and had a middle-income. Statistical tests showed no significant relationship between education level (p=0.903) or income (p=0.730) and the level of intervention. Parental intervention in preventing sexual violence against children in Makassar City is relatively high and is not influenced by educational or economic background, but rather by awareness, motivation, and social norms. This study indicates the importance of broader, community-based parental education and empowerment strategies.

Abstract

The innovation of toothpaste made from HAp–ZnO composites derived from pokea shells has been successfully carried out. This study aims to synthesize and characterize the HAp/ZnO composite and to investigate the antibacterial activity of the HAp/ZnO composite toothpaste against Streptococcus mutans. Characterization of the HAp/ZnO composite was conducted using FTIR, XRD, and SEM-EDX analyses. Based on the FTIR results, absorption bands appeared at wavenumbers 400–600 cm⁻¹ corresponding to Zn–O, along with specific vibrations for the –OH (3500 cm⁻¹) and –PO₄ (1050 cm⁻¹) groups. XRD data showed characteristic ZnO peaks at 2θ = 33.01°, 36.37°, and 47.22°, while SEM-EDX results confirmed a uniform distribution of ZnO on the surface of HAp particles. The toothpaste formulation containing 14 g of HAp–ZnO, 1.75 g of Na-CMC, glycerin, SLS, methyl paraben, and peppermint oil produced a semi-solid cream that met commercial standards: yellowish-white color, mint-sweet aroma and taste, pH 5.69 (within the range of 4.5–10.5), viscosity of 20,000 cps (range 20,000–50,000 cps), and good stability and homogeneity. The antibacterial activity of the HAp–ZnO toothpaste against S. mutans was classified as very strong, showing an average inhibition zone of 20–21 mm—2.44 times larger than that of pure HAp. These results highlight the potential of HAp–ZnO as an active ingredient in next-generation toothpaste formulations for the prevention of dental caries

Abstract

Ecoprint is an environmentally friendly dyeing technique that utilizes natural pigments from plants. This study aims to identify local plant species that can be used as natural dyes in the ecoprint technique. The method used is a literature review of literature studies by taking reference sources in the form of books, articles from international and national journals related to the use of plants as natural dyes, and experiments to observe surrounding plants. The results of the study show that several parts of the plants used are quite varied, ranging from leaves, flowers, bark, fruit skin, seeds, to tubers that have natural pigments such as flavonoids, tannins, anthocyanins and chlorophyll that have the potential to produce various colors such as green, yellow, red, brown, gray, and blue. The use of these plants not only produces good color variations, but also supports the principles of sustainability and environmental friendliness. The conclusion of this study is that local plants have great potential as natural dyes, so they can be an alternative to synthetic dyes in the textile industry.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has long-term impacts on physical growth, cognitive development, and the quality of human resources. South Sulawesi Province still faces a high prevalence of stunting with variations in conditions between districts/cities. This study aims to conduct early detection of areas with potential stunting crises through the integration of Local Moran's I spatial analysis and the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method. The research data consists of secondary data from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in 2024 in 24 districts/cities with variables related to nutritional, socioeconomic, and environmental factors. The analysis stage begins with OLS regression and classical assumption tests, followed by the Local Moran's I test to identify spatial autocorrelation patterns, indicating clustering of at-risk areas. Therefore, GWR modeling is used to map variations in the influence of local determinants of stunting. The results show that the GWR model outperforms OLS based on increased R² values ​​and coefficient variations between regions, with significant variable differences in each location. These findings emphasize the importance of region-specific stunting management policies as a basis for early detection and more effective intervention in South Sulawesi Province.

Abstract

Natural rubber (NR), an unsaturated cis-1,4-polyisoprene polymer, exhibits limited resistance to oils, ozone, and thermal degradation, necessitating chemical modification to enhance its performance. This study evaluates two synthetic routes for producing liquid epoxidized natural rubber: epoxidation followed by oxidative degradation (NR → ENR → LENR) and degradation followed by epoxidation (NR → LNR → ELNR). Epoxidation was carried out using in situ peroxyacetic acid generated from acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide, while periodic acid in tetrahydrofuran was employed for oxidative chain scission. Structural evolution was characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Key transformations include attenuation of the C=C stretching band near 1660 cm⁻¹, the appearance of oxirane absorptions at 1240–1250 and 870–890 cm⁻¹, and the development of carbonyl (1717–1735 cm⁻¹) and hydroxyl (3275–3435 cm⁻¹) groups. The ENR → LENR pathway showed substantial epoxide loss and stronger oxygenated signatures, indicating extensive oxirane ring-opening during degradation. Conversely, the LNR → ELNR pathway yielded clearer and more intense oxirane bands with moderate oxidation, demonstrating that epoxide formation is more effective on low-molecular-weight chains generated prior to epoxidation. These findings confirm that reaction order critically governs epoxide retention, oxidative product distribution, and final polymer polarity. ELNR is thus suitable for applications requiring high epoxide content and reactivity, whereas LENR is more advantageous for systems requiring higher polarity and a broader range of oxygenated functional groups.
