Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to develop a three-tier test of the human reproductive system in identifying student misconceptions. The instrument was developed by Treagust model which has three stages of defining content; obtain information; development of diagnostic tests. A total of 100 students were subjected. All question items consist of 15 items have been classified as valid, with result of reliability analysis equal to 0.717, average test of power difference 0.45, all item problem is in range 0.35–0.67 at level of difficulty, construct validity r = 0.531, N = 100, p = 0.000. False negative content validity test is 6.47% and false positive is 9.07%. Based on the analysis result, this instrument is feasible to identify student misconception.Key Words: human reproduction system, misconception, three-tier test, studentAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan instrumen three-tier test sistem reproduksi manusia dalam mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi siswa. Instrumen dikembangkan dengan model Treagust yang memiliki tiga tahapan yaitu mendefinisikan konten; memperoleh informasi; pengembangan tes diagnostik. Sebanyak 100 siswa dijadikan subjek. Seluruh item soal terdiri 15 butir soal tergolong valid, dengan hasil analisis realibilitas sebesar 0.717, rerata uji daya beda 0.45, semua item soal berada pada rentangan 0.35–0.67 pada tingkat kesukaran, validitas konstruknya r = 0.531, N = 100, p = 0.000. Uji validitas konten persentase false negative sebesar 6.47% dan false positive sebesar 9.07%. Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to reduce the alternative concepts of students with EPCOER learning models and POE learning models on thermochemical material. This study used a test instrument in the form of three tier tests having 98% content validity. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.881 with a very high category. The research was conducted in two research classes at high school. The results showed a decrease in the alternative concepts that students had before learning. There were differences in the alternative concepts of students in the experimental and control classes, which students in experimental class had fewer alternative concepts compared to the student in the control class. The reduction in the alternative concepts of students were showed by the difference of students pretest and posttest scores.Key Words: EPCOER, initial knowledge, alternative conceptsAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mereduksi konsep alternatif siswa dengan model pembelajaran EPCOER dan model pembelajaran POE pada materi termokimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes berupa three tier test yang memiliki validitas isi 98% dengan kriteria sangat baik dan koefisien reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach 0,881 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada dua kelas di SMA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan konsep alternatif yang dimiliki siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran, di mana hasil penelitian konsep alternatif siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menunjukkan ada perbedaan. Hasil reduksi konsep alternatif siswa ditunjuk-kan oleh beda skor pretes dan postes siswa, di mana skor postes siswa lebih tinggi dari pada postes.Kata kunci: EPCOER, pengetahuan awal, konsep alternatif

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this study are to analyze: (1) the correlation of metacognitive skill and critical thinking ability with biology student learning outcomes experiencing study of Problem Based Learning, and (2) the contribution of metacognitive skill and critical thinking ability towards students’ Biology learning outcomes. Data analysis by double linear regression technique showed that: (1) there is a correlation between metacognitive skill and critical thinking ability with biology student learning outcomes, and (2) the critical thinking ability give more contribution than metacognitive skill toward students’ Biology learning outcomes.Key Words: metacognitive skill, critical thinking ability, biology student learning outcomes, PBLAbstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis: (1) hubungan keterampilan metakognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan hasil belajar biologi siswa yang menjalani pembelajaran PBL, dan (2) besar sumbangan keterampilan metakognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier ganda menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada hubungan signifikan antara keterampilan metakognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan hasil belajar biologi siswa, dan (2) kemampuan berpikir kritis memberikan sumbangan lebih besar bila dibandingkan dengan ketrampilan metakognitif terhadap hasil belajar Biologi siswa. Abstract

Efektivitas Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Berstandar ISO 9001:2008 terhadap Pencapaian Standar Isi, Standar Proses dan Standar Kompetensi Lulusan Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the effectiveness of the achievement of the content standards, process standards, and competency standards in vocational already standard ISO 9001: 2008 with CMS that has not been standardized ISO 9001: 2008 both in public schools and private schools. Data collection using the questionnaire enclosed Likert scale models. Analysis of data using one-way ANOVA using SPSS. The results showed: (1) there is no difference in effectiveness between public SMK ISO standard ISO standards with private SMK (P = 0.001); (2) there are differences in the effectiveness of public SMK SMK ISO standards with ISO standards have not (P = 0.000); (3) there are differences in the effectiveness of public SMK ISO standards with private vocational yet ISO standards (P = 0.000); (4) there are differences in the effectiveness of the private vocational school with vocational standard ISO standard ISO country has not (P = 0.015); (5) there are differences in the effectiveness of the private vocational bertandar ISO with private vocational yet standardized ISO (P = 0.000); (6) there was no difference in the effectiveness of public SMK has not been standardized by the ISO standard ISO private SMK yet. Key Words: vocational high school standards ISO 9001: 2008, the standard content, process standards, competency standards Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas pencapaian standar isi, standar proses, dan standar kompetensi lulusan pada SMK yang sudah berstandar ISO 9001:2008 dengan SMK yang belum berstandar ISO 9001:2008 baik pada sekolah negeri maupun sekolah swasta. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner tertutup model skala likert. Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA one way menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) ada perbedaan efektivitas antara SMK negeri berstandar ISO dengan SMK swasta berstandar ISO (P = 0,001); (2) ada perbedaan efektivitas SMK negeri berstandar ISO dengan SMK negeri belum berstandar ISO (P = 0,000); (3) ada perbedaan efektivitas SMK negeri berstandar ISO dengan SMK swasta belum ber-standar ISO (P = 0,000); (4) ada perbedaan efektivitas SMK swasta berstandar ISO dengan SMK ne-geri belum berstandar ISO (P = 0,015); (5) ada perbedaan efektivitas SMK swasta bertandar ISO de-ngan SMK swasta belum berstandar ISO (P = 0,000); (6) tidak ada perbedaan efektivitas SMK negeri belum berstandar ISO dengan SMK swasta belum berstandar ISO. Kata kunci: sekolah menengah kejuruan berstandar ISO 9001:2008, standar isi, standar proses, standar kompetensi lulusan

Abstract

Hasil Belajar Melalui Motivasi Peserta Diklat Ditinjau dari Latar Belakang Ekonomi dan PendidikanAbstract: The purpose of this study to describe (1) direct influence of economy level towards motivation, (2) direct influence of education level towards motivation, (3) direct influence of economic level towards learning achievement, (4) direct influence of education level towards learning achievement, (5) direct influence of motivation towards learning achievement. The data is collected by using questionnaires and documentation analysis of 160 training participants, and path analysis is the technique that is used by the researcher. The findings show that, (1) there is a direct influence of economy background of members parents towards the training members motivation in following training, (2) there is a direct influence of education background of the training members towards the training members motivation in following training, (3) there is not a direct influence of economy background of members parents towards the training members learning achievement in following training, (4) there is a direct influence of education background of the training members towards the training members learning achievement in following training, (5) there is a direct influence of motivation towards training member’s learning achievement in following training.Key Words: learning achievement, motivation, economy background, education backgroundAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan (1) pengaruh langsung tingkat ekonomi terhadap motivasi, (2) pengaruh langsung tingkat pendidikan terhadap motivasi, (3) pengaruh langsung tingkat ekonomi terhadap hasil belajar, (4) pengaruh langsung tingkat pendidikan terhadap hasil belajar, (5) pengaruh langsung motivasi terhadap hasil belajar. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode angket dan analisis dokumentasi dari 160 peserta diklat, dan teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) terdapat pengaruh langsung latar belakang ekonomi orang tua peserta diklat terhadap motivasi belajar peserta diklat dalam mengikuti kegiatan diklat, (2) terdapat pengaruh langsung latar belakang pendidikan peserta diklat terhadap motivasi belajar peserta diklat dalam mengikuti kegiatan diklat, (3) tidak terdapat pengaruh langsung latar belakang ekonomi orang tua peserta diklat terhadap hasil belajar peserta diklat dalam mengikuti diklat, (4) terdapat pengaruh langsung latar belakang pendidikan peserta diklat terhadap hasil belajar peserta diklat dalam mengikuti kegiatan diklat, (5) terdapat pengaruh langsung motivasi belajar peserta diklat dalam mengikuti kegiatan diklat terhadap hasil belajar peserta diklat.Kata kunci: hasil belajar, motivasi, latar belakang ekonomi, latar belakang pendidikan

Abstract

Abstract: Speed reading method helps students to learn effectively, efficiently, and independently in understanding a reading. This study aims to improve the reading speed and understanding of students’ biology concepts by applying speed reading method. This research was conducted in SMA Bina Bangsa Surabaya in Odd Semester of Academic Year 2015-2016. This research is qualitative research which was done by employing reading speed test and comprehension test of biology concept. The subject of this research was 41 students of X-MIA class in SMA Bina Bangsa Surabaya. The data were analyzed by employing descriptive qualitative. The results showed an increase in average reading speed of 481 wpm, with an average understanding of the concept of 73%.Key Words: speed reading, biology conceptual understanding, reading speedAbstrak: Metode speed reading membantu siswa untuk belajar secara efektif, efisien, dan mandiri dalam memahami suatu bacaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecepatan membaca dan pemahaman konsep biologi siswa dengan menerapkan metode speed reading. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Bina Bangsa Surabaya pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2015-2016. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan dengan uji kecepatan membaca dan uji pemahaman konsep biologi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 41 siswa kelas X-MIA SMA Bina Bangsa Surabaya. Data tersebut dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata kecepatan membaca 481 kpm, dengan rata-rata pemahaman konsep 73%.Kata kunci: speed reading, pemahaman konsep biologi, kecepatan membaca

Abstract

Abstract: The research aim to examine effect of Thinking Empowerment by Questioning pattern in Team Game Tournament (TEQ-TGT) towards cognitive ability, science attitude, and metacognitive awareness of students in Grade 8 SMP Negeri 2 Ponorogo. The research used a quasi experimental method with pretest posttest only controls group design. The datas were obtained from cognitive test, questionnaire of Likert Scale, and Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire. The results showed that there were differences of effect in cognitive ability, science attitude, and me-tacognitive awareness of students that using learning patterns TEQ-TGT than the students who TEQ pattern.Key Words: TEQ-TGT, cognitive ability, acience attitude, metacognitive awarenessAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh pola pembelajaran PBMP-TGT terhadap kemampuan kognitif, sikap IPA, dan kesadaran metakognitif siswa kelas 8 SMP Negeri 2 Ponorogo. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest posttest only con-trol group design. Data diperoleh dari hasil pretest dan posttest kemampuan kognitif, angket Skala Likert, dan Angket Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). Abstract

Penggunaan Pita Melalui Pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project untuk Memahamkan Siswa tentang Luas Permukaan Bola Abstract: This study will describe the use of ribbon through Missouri Mathematics Project learning for students on ynderstanding the surface area of ​​the ball. This Learning is implemented based on the learning stages Missouri Mathematics Project, combined with manipulative materials. This research is a class act. Each cycle consists of three meetings. In this study it is also conducted studies on the students' answers. The results shows that the application of learning using manipulative materials ball and ribbon can make the students understand the surface area of ​​the ball. Key Words: manipulative materials, Missouri Mathematics Project, the hang, the surface area of ​​the ball Abstrak: Penelitian ini akan mendeskripsikan penggunaan pita melalui pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project untuk memahamkan siswa tentang luas permukaan bola. Pembelajaran yang di-laksanakan berdasarkan pada tahapan pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project yang dipadukan dengan bahan manipulatif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tiga kali pertemuan. Dalam penelitian ini juga dilakukan kajian dari jawaban siswa. Abstract

Abstract: This paper describes the practical activities of Electrical Energy Systems (EES) course at University of South Australia (UniSA). The practical subject is Laboratory Component (LC). It is a compulsory subject for first-year students of bachelor of the engineering program. Students may do practically in conventional laboratories or by using Internet-based remote laboratory (RL). An experiment was conducted to explore the students’ preference for practical approaches. Most students prefer the RL schedule flexibility while the others like to do real component wiring in an electrical laboratory. The combination between proximal and remote laboratories may become the best approach to delivering the LC practical.Key Words: real laboratory, remote laboratory, laboratory componentAbstrak: Tulisan ini menjelaskan kegiatan praktis pada matakuliah Electrical Energy Systems (EES) di University of South Australia (UniSA). Subjek praktis dalam penelitian ini adalah Laboratory Component (LC). Sebagai matakuliah wajib untuk mahasiswa tahun pertama dari sarjana program rekayasa. Siswa diharapkan dapat melakukan praktek di laboratorium konvensional atau dengan menggunakan remote laboratorium berbasis internet (RL). Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi preferensi siswa pada pendekatan praktis. Kebanyakan siswa lebih suka fleksibilitas jadwal RL sementara yang lain ingin melakukan real component wiring di laboratorium listrik. Kombinasi antara laboratorium proksimal dan terpencil mungkin menjadi pendekatan terbaik untuk memberikan LC praktis.Kata kunci: laboratorium nyata, laboratorium terpencil, komponen laboratorium

Abstract

Hubungan Fasilitas Praktikum TKJ di Sekolah, Kesesuaian Tempat Prakerin, dan Kompetensi TKJ Siswa dengan Hasil Uji Kompetensi Keahlian Abstract: This study aims to (1) determine the relationship TKJ lab facilities at the school with skills competency test results; (2) determine the suitability of a relationship prakerin with skill competency test results; (3) determine the relationship of competency TKJ students with skills competency test results; and (4) determine the relationship between TKJ lab facilities at the school, where prakerin suitability and competence TKJ students together with the results of the competency test of skill. Research using quantitative research correlational approach. The research sample was determined by using simple random sampling technique, which amounted to 75 students from two schools namely SMK N 1 Tell and SMK N 1 Pogalan. Instruments used in the study is check lists, questionnaires, documentation of grades, and documentation of results UKK. Hypothesis testing using Pearson correlation technique (Pearson Product Moment) with SPSS. Key Words: lab facilities, prakerin, TKJ competence, skills competency test Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui hubungan fasilitas praktikum TKJ di sekolah dengan hasil uji kompetensi keahlian; (2) mengetahui hubungan kesesuaian tempat prakerin dengan hasil uji komptensi keahlian; (3) mengetahui hubungan kompetensi TKJ siswa dengan hasil uji kompetensi keahlian; dan (4) mengetahui hubungan antara fasilitas praktikum TKJ di sekolah, kesesuaian tempat prakerin, dan kompetensi TKJ siswa secara bersama-sama dengan hasil uji kompetensi keahlian. Penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, yaitu sebesar 75 siswa dari dua sekolah yaitu SMKN 1 Suruh dan SMKN 1 Pogalan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah check list, angket, dokumentasi nilai rapor, dan dokumentasi hasil UKK. Uji hipotesis menggunakan teknik korelasi pearson (Product Moment Pearson) dengan bantuan SPSS.Kata kunci: fasilitas praktikum, prakerin, kompetensi TKJ, uji kompetensi keahlian
