Abstract

This study addresses the lack of contextual and developmentally appropriate learning media at KB Arraudoh, where many 4–5-year-old children were found to struggle with story sequencing, coherent expression, and narrative vocabulary. The research aimed to develop thematic teak wood puzzle media while also identifying learning needs, understanding classroom conditions, and examining children’s storytelling progress after implementation. A mixed-methods R&D design using the ADDIE model was applied. Qualitative data from observations, teacher interviews, needs analysis, and documentation were used to analyze children’s characteristics and contextual requirements for media design. Quantitative data were obtained from expert validations and structured assessments in limited field trials. Qualitative findings guided product development, while quantitative results confirmed feasibility and effectiveness. The puzzle media received very high feasibility scores—98.3% (content expert), 98.4% (media expert), and 98.5% (practitioner). Children’s storytelling performance improved significantly, with 85% categorized as Developing as Expected and a 70% increase in achievement after implementation. The integration of qualitative insights and quantitative validation shows that the media effectively supports narrative development through contextual visual cues and structured sequencing. This study contributes a context-based mixed-methods model for early childhood media development and offers practical implications for designing developmentally appropriate storytelling interventions.

Abstract

School counselors are crucial in supporting student development, particularly in wetland regions where academic and social adaptation challenges are prominent. This study examined whether intelligence and adaptability significantly predict student resilience. Participants were 200 undergraduate students (aged 18–22, 2nd–6th semester) from the Guidance and Counseling Department at Lambung Mangkurat University, all residing in wetland areas. A quantitative correlational design was applied, using CFIT Scale 3 (intelligence), EPPS (adaptability), and Kraepelin Test (resilience). Analyses included Chi-Square, Pearson correlation, multiple regression, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results showed a moderate positive correlation between intelligence, adaptability, and resilience (r = 0.387, p < 0.05). Intelligence and adaptability jointly explained 42% of resilience variance (R² = 0.42). SEM confirmed good model fit (χ²/df = 2.14, RMSEA = 0.048, CFI = 0.93, TLI = 0.91). Students with high intelligence but low adaptability demonstrated weaker resilience, emphasizing adaptability as a stronger determinant than cognitive ability alone. This study is limited by its single-site sample and reliance on specific psychometric tests, restricting broader generalization. Nonetheless, findings suggest that counseling education should integrate adaptability training and resilience-building strategies to prepare future school counselors for the complex demands of wetland educational environments.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of advanced computer vision techniques, specifically semantic segmentation, depth estimation, and object detection, into augmented reality (AR) systems to enhance user immersion, contextual interaction, and real-world adaptability. The research aims to address the limitations of existing AR systems, which often struggle with real-time performance and context-aware interaction in dynamic environments. Using a design-based research (DBR) approach, the study involved testing the proposed AR system on mobile devices under controlled and real-world conditions. Performance was assessed using specific metrics: frame rate (FPS), inference latency, semantic accuracy, and user experience. The sample included 20 participants, recruited through convenience sampling, with inclusion criteria focused on individuals familiar with mobile AR applications. Ethical approval was obtained for the study, and informed consent was provided by all participants. The testing involved both simulation trials and real-world prototyping in varied environmental conditions, such as indoor and outdoor settings with different lighting and motion dynamics. Results indicate that the integrated of the vision stack significantly enhanced scene understanding and enabling stable, context-aware digital overlays, with the system maintaining a real-time frame rate of >27 FPS. User feedback, measured through a 5-point Likert scale survey, confirmed improved immersion, visual coherence, and satisfaction compared to baseline AR systems, with an average increase of 35% in perceived realism. The analysis also revealed that the system's performance remained consistent across varying environmental conditions, with minimal latency (less than 300ms) in dynamic re-anchoring of AR elements. Statistical tests (paired t-tests) confirmed the significance of these improvements, with p-values < 0.05 for all key metrics. This research contributes a scalable framework that bridges artificial intelligence, user experience design, and mobile AR deployment. It provides empirical evidence supporting the integration of computer vision techniques into AR systems, with practical implications for applications in education, healthcare, and industry. Future work will focus on expanding the user base, exploring hardware compatibility, and investigating multimodal AR interactions.

Abstract

The ecological transformation of coastal communities is achieved through the transmission of values, social interaction, education, participation, and institutionalization of collective norms. This study aims to analyze how the EcoRanger program, initiated by the NGO Greeneration Indonesia, can encourage changes in ecological behavior in the community of Pancer Hamlet, Banyuwangi. Using a phenomenological approach, this study explores residents' subjective experiences of the program intervention through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. The results indicate that the EcoRanger intervention successfully fostered ecological awareness through educational activities (Educamp and Envirosport), the provision of integrated waste management facilities (SEKOLA), and routine activities for residents and tourists (Weekly Beach Clean-Up). These changes are both material—visible in waste sorting and management practices—and immaterial, in the form of shifts in attitudes, active participation, and the formation of new, collectively maintained social norms. Religious values and local traditions, such as Petik Laut (Sea Sacred) and Baritan, contribute to the internalization of cleanliness messages as part of the community's faith and identity. EcoRanger acts as a social facilitator, filling the gap in the state's role in providing environmental services and public education. This study concludes that sustainable ecological transformation requires synergy between education, infrastructure, citizen participation, and the accommodation of local values. Theoretically, this research offers a novel contribution through the formulation of the concept of community ecoandragogy—an ecological education approach based on lived experience, critical reflection, and the institutionalization of social norms—that broadens the scope of ecopedagogy and can be replicated in other coastal areas.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) represents a major global health burden, characterized by insulin resistance, chronic hyperglycemia, and a high risk of cardiovascular complications. Among various modifiable risk factors, dietary patterns play a central role in regulating both glycemic control and blood pressure. This literature review explores the impact of balanced diets—particularly the Mediterranean diet, the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, and plant-based diets—on metabolic outcomes in T2DM while integrating socio-behavioral perspectives. The review employed a qualitative literature review approach, systematically analyzing peer-reviewed studies published within the last five years from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Content analysis was used to identify recurring themes, evaluate consistency across findings, and compare both physiological and behavioral aspects of dietary adherence. Findings consistently demonstrate that balanced diets significantly improve HbA1c levels, enhance insulin sensitivity, and lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure in T2DM patients. Among dietary models, the Mediterranean diet shows the strongest evidence for metabolic benefits, followed closely by DASH. However, dietary adherence is profoundly shaped by socio-behavioral determinants including cultural eating practices, family support, economic constraints, and patient motivation. Technological interventions, such as mobile health applications, offer promising strategies to strengthen adherence, although accessibility issues remain. In conclusion, balanced dietary interventions are effective non-pharmacological strategies for T2DM management but require socio-behavioral integration to achieve sustainable outcomes. Future programs must combine nutritional education with cultural adaptation, behavioral reinforcement, and equitable access to healthy foods.

Abstract

This research addresses the challenges in enhancing early childhood education (ECE) quality standards through the application of School-Based Management (SBM). Despite widespread recognition of the importance of SBM in educational settings, many schools, especially in early childhood education, struggle to meet established quality standards due to limited decision-making autonomy, inadequate leadership, and insufficient community involvement. The research problem revolves around the gap in understanding how SBM can be effectively applied to improve ECE standards, particularly in decentralized school systems. The study aims to investigate the key factors influencing the successful implementation of SBM in early childhood education, focusing on leadership engagement, teacher involvement, community participation, and alignment with quality standards. Using a qualitative literature review approach, the analysis synthesizes data from academic articles, reports, and case studies published in the past decade. Key factors identified through thematic content analysis highlight the importance of decentralized decision-making in improving educational outcomes. The findings suggest that SBM can lead to measurable improvements in educational practices, resource allocation, and community engagement when implemented effectively. Specifically, leadership autonomy, teacher involvement in decision-making, and active community participation are critical drivers for enhancing ECE quality. These results provide actionable insights for policymakers and school administrators to tailor SBM implementation strategies, ensuring that they align with both local needs and established national and international quality standards. This study contributes to the academic understanding of SBM’s role in early childhood education, offering practical recommendations for policy reforms and school management practices aimed at improving ECE quality through decentralization.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the banking sector has intensified the responsibilities and pace of work, increasing workload among Generation Z employees and potentially heightening turnover intention. This study examined the relationship between workload and turnover intention, as well as the separate moderating roles of flourishing and emotion regulation. A correlational non-experimental design was used, employing Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), with questionnaire and convenience sampling. Participants consisted of 226 Gen Z bank employees in Indonesia, aged 20–27 years, with a minimum of six months work experience. The results showed that workload was positively and significantly assosiated with turnover intention (r = 0.397; p < 0.05), both flourishing and emotional regulation have a significant negative relationship with turnover intention. Moderation analysis showed that flourishing (β = -0.395 p < 0.05) and emotion regulation (β = -0.308; p < 0.05) reduced the strength of the relationship between workload on turnover intention. The highest turnover intention was found among employees with high workload and low flourishing or emotion regulation. These findings supported the Job Demand-Control theory and emphasized the importance of psychological well-being and emotional skills in reducing turnover intention.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of Generative AI adoption in higher education has not been matched by sufficient understanding of how security, privacy, and trust shape its use, leaving a research gap regarding how risks and trust are formed in academic settings. This study examines the effects of security, privacy, and trust on students’ behavioral intention and actual use of Generative AI by extending the UTAUT framework through the integration of these constructs. A quantitative survey was administered to 450 students at Bina Nusantara University using purposive convenience sampling, and the data were analyzed with PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 3.0). The results show that Performance Expectancy (β = 0.247; t = 4.355; p < 0.001), Effort Expectancy (β = 0.213; t = 3.597; p < 0.001), and Social Influence (β = 0.186; t = 3.564; p < 0.001) significantly shape Behavioral Intention, while Behavioral Intention strongly predicts Use Behavior (β = 0.368; t = 6.700; p < 0.001). Facilitating Conditions also exert a direct influence on Use Behavior (β = 0.228; t = 5.511; p < 0.001). Among the risk-related variables, Security affects Behavioral Intention (β = 0.150; t = 2.981; p = 0.003) but not actual behavior, and Privacy is not significant for either dependent variable (p > 0.05). Trust consistently predicts both intention and behavior (β = 0.108; p = 0.010; β = 0.148; p = 0.002). These findings extend UTAUT by underscoring the mediating role of trust in Generative AI adoption and offer policy implications for improving data security transparency and institutional trust-building strategies.

Abstract

Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) has emerged as a significant mental health concern among adolescent students, with prevalence rates varying from 0.7% to 27.5% globally.  This study aimed to comprehend-sively describe IGD tendencies among students in urban public schools, identify the most prominent IGD dimensions, and formulate evidence-based implications for guidance and counseling interventions. A quantitative descriptive study was conducted involving 350 high school students from three urban public schools in West Sumatra, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a standardized six-dimension IGD questionnaire measuring Salience, Tolerance, Mood Modification, Withdrawal, Relapse, and Conflict.The findings revealed that 45.7% of students exhibited moderate IGD tendencies, with only 5.7% in the very low category. The most prominent dimensions were Tolerance (75.0% in moderate-to-high categories) and Relapse (49.0% in moderate category), reflecting significant difficulties in controlling gaming duration and strong urges to resume gaming after cessation attempts. Maternal employment status (65.7% working mothers) potentially contributed to reduced parental supervision.IGD tendencies among urban public school students represent a significant risk requiring urgent intervention. School counseling services must implement comprehensive prevention programs incorporating self-control enhancement, family involvement, and evidence-based group counseling approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs for developing ethnographic bumper videos based on gamification in Natural and Social Science (IPAS) learning at the elementary school level. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed involving 12 teachers and 324 students from three elementary schools in Palembang. The instrument was constructed based on six main aspects pedagogical, technical, cognitive, aesthetic, socio-cultural, and evaluative integrated across four components: students, teachers, media, and instructional design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires, then analyzed using percentage techniques and Spearman’s rank correlation. The findings revealed that all aspects were in the high to very high category, with strong positive correlations (rs = 0.67–0.78) between school-based learning needs and home learning activities. Cognitive and aesthetic aspects emerged as the dominant needs, emphasizing the importance of visually engaging designs that enhance information processing efficiency. These results affirm that multidimensional needs analysis is essential for developing digital learning media that are contextual, adaptive, and aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum, contributing to effective and culturally relevant learning experiences.
