Abstract

Cases of sexual violence against children with special needs (CWSN) in Indonesia continue to rise, placing parents under layered psychological pressures that remain poorly understood. This study aims to analyze how parents construct self-acceptance through emotional dynamics, the reconstruction of caregiving roles, and the use of social–spiritual support after their children experience sexual violence in early childhood. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four parents in West Java whose children were identified as victims, and were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring experiential patterns. The findings reveal three main themes: (1) initial emotional turmoil characterized by shock, anger, fear, and intense guilt; (2) reconstruction of caregiving meaning, including role adjustments and heightened protective responses as part of restoring parental identity; and (3) psychological strengthening through social and spiritual support, which forms the foundation for developing self-acceptance. The results indicate that self-acceptance in this context is multidimensional and shaped by relational factors as well as cultural values. This study offers novelty by highlighting the unique characteristics of self-acceptance among parents of CWSN who are victims of sexual violence. Its implications provide an essential basis for developing psychosocial interventions that are more sensitive to the trauma experienced by CWSN families.

Abstract

In recent years, news about the degenerate in empathy has been increasingly found, even this degenerate in empathy also occurs in children. While the ability to empathize itself can actually be taught since childhood. The technique to develop empathy ability in childhood is through the intensity of storytelling. This study aims to determine the role of storytelling intensity in developing the empathy ability of elementary school age children. Quantitative research was conducted with 233 participants from SDN Kraton 1 and SDN Kraton 2 Bangkalan Regency, Madura aged 10-11 years (grades IV and V). Data analysis using Simple Linear Regression. The results of the study indicated that storytelling intensity can develop the empathy ability of elementary school age children. The results encouraged parents at home and teachers at school to provide fairy tales intensively to children. At home, storytelling can be done more flexibly, while at school, storytelling can be given by adjusting the curriculum for grades IV and V of elementary school.

Abstract

Despite recent declines in prevalence, malnutrition and stunting remain persistent public health challenges in Indonesia. While existing studies on school feeding programs largely emphasize nutritional outcomes, they have given limited attention to how frontline actors translate policy into everyday practice. Addressing this gap, this study analyzes how street-level bureaucrats exercise discretion, negotiate structural constraints, and develop coping strategies in implementing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program in Magelang City and Magelang Regency. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, nutritionists, cooks, distribution drivers, and school staff, complemented by field observations. The data were coded thematically using key dimensions of Street-Level Bureaucracy as analytical categories, including discretion, resource constraints, coping practices, and social relations. The findings reveal that implementation is shaped not only by formal guidelines but also by localized adaptations. Teachers serve in dual roles as educators and informal nutrition supervisors, while cooks make creative adjustments to menu composition and portioning to ensure continuity despite limited facilities and fluctuating supplies. Frontline actors also employ social accountability mechanisms through close interaction with parents and local communities to sustain compliance and trust. These practices demonstrate how discretion operates as both a managerial necessity and a source of innovation. The study contributes to theory by extending Street-Level Bureaucracy to a developing-country context, highlighting how social accountability and collective coping practices shape policy outcomes beyond individual discretion. Practically, the findings inform policy refinement through targeted investments in facilities, streamlined administrative procedures, and adaptive menu planning to strengthen program sustainability.

Abstract

Studies on Pandai Sikek songket as Minangkabau cultural heritage have largely remained descriptive, focusing on its aesthetic, symbolic, and economic values, while offering limited analysis of the cultural transmission mechanisms that sustain weaving skills across generations. This study aims to examine intergenerational learning and social transmission of songket weaving skills in Nagari Pandai Sikek, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra, with particular emphasis on vertical, horizontal, and oblique transmission. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving ten purposively selected informants, including weavers, academics, traditional leaders, and representatives of the nagari government. Data analysis followed an interactive analytical model, and the credibility of the findings was ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The findings indicate that vertical transmission occurs within the family through early-age learning, horizontal transmission takes place through peer interactions and collective practices, and oblique transmission is mediated by actors and institutions beyond kinship relations. These results highlight that Pandai Sikek songket functions not only as a technical craft but also as a medium of social learning that plays a crucial role in sustaining educational, social, and religious values within Minangkabau society.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of local wisdom and organizational factors on teacher Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in state Islamic junior high schools (MTs Negeri) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Using a sequential exploratory mixed-methods design (POP-SDM), the research identifies religiosity, mutual assistance, and transformational leadership as exogenous variables, with work motivation as an intervening variable. Quantitative data from 220 teachers were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings confirm that transformational leadership has the strongest direct effect on OCB (β = 0.397), followed by work motivation (β = 0.221), religiosity (β = 0.197), and mutual assistance (β = 0.215). Work motivation significantly mediates the relationships between religiosity and OCB, and between mutual assistance and OCB, but not between transformational leadership and OCB. The study demonstrates the critical role of work motivation as a psychological bridge, transforming intrinsic values of religiosity and a collaborative spirit into tangible extra-role behaviors. This research enriches OCB theory by integrating cultural dimensions and offers practical strategies for enhancing teacher performance through culturally informed human resource development.

Abstract

Cyber sexual harassment (CSH) is becoming a bigger problem in digital academic settings, especially for college students who use online platforms a lot. While current responses frequently prioritize technical or regulatory solutions, there has been insufficient focus on pedagogical strategies that tackle the social and ethical aspects of digital violence. This study investigates the role of critical digital literacy, influenced by Paulo Freire’s humanist pedagogy, in fostering students’ critical awareness and ethical involvement concerning cyber sexual harassment. This study utilized a qualitative research design within a critical framework, involving 20 undergraduate students from three Indonesian universities. Data were gathered via semi-structured in-depth interviews and participatory observation during facilitated discussions regarding digital literacy and gender. Reflexive thematic analysis was used to look for patterns in how participants understood, experienced, and reacted to cyber sexual harassment in digital academic spaces. The results show that even though students are generally very aware of cyber sexual harassment, this awareness doesn't always lead to ethical behavior or a sense of collective responsibility. There were themes of normalcy, silence, and hesitation, as well as a lack of supportive or interventionist behaviors. Nevertheless, participants who participated in dialogical and reflective learning activities exhibited heightened awareness of digital power dynamics and the ethical ramifications of online behaviors. These results indicate that critical digital literacy can serve as an emancipatory educational approach that connects awareness with action. By encouraging conversation, thought, and critical awareness, colleges and universities can help fight cyber sexual harassment as a cultural and structural issue instead of just a problem with one person's behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of helicopter parenting on self-efficacy and psychological well-being in Madrasah Tsanawiyah students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlation design, and data obtained from 210 students through a likert scale questionnaire. The results of the study showed that there were clear differences based on gender. In male students, helicopter parenting does not have a significant effect on self-efficacy or psychological well-being. In contrast, in female students a significant influence was found, which showed that the higher the level of helicopter parenting, the lower their levels of self-efficacy and psychological well-being. These findings indicate that female students are more vulnerable to the psychological impact of overly controlling parenting, especially in the context of faith-based schools that tend to impose strict moral norms. Further research is suggested to explore cultural and emotional factors that may influence the relationship between parenting and adolescent psychological development.

Abstract

Abstract

Character development in higher education faces increasing challenges due to rapid social change, digitalization, and growing expectations for graduates to demonstrate not only religious integrity but also social responsibility and leadership competencies. In Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions, Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) values serve as the core foundation of character education. However, existing learning approaches and measurement instruments tend to emphasize religiosity and have not yet adequately captured the multidimensional nature of student character development. In response to this issue, this study aims to develop a conceptual basis for AIK-based character education instruments through a systematic literature review. A total of 23 relevant studies were analyzed to synthesize AIK learning strategies, character dimensions and indicators, and methodological challenges in measuring AIK-based character development in higher education contexts. The synthesis reveals that effective AIK learning strategies such as direct instruction, habituation, role modeling, and value reflection contribute to multiple character dimensions, including religious spiritual, moral social, social engagement, leadership, and Muhammadiyah identity. The findings also highlight the importance of character indicators that integrate cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains and are responsive to digital, multicultural, and prophetic values. This review identifies a significant gap in the availability of comprehensive, valid, and contextually grounded psychometric instruments for assessing AIK-based character development in higher education. By proposing an integrated conceptual framework, this study contributes theoretically to clarifying AIK-based character development and provides direction for future instrument development, assessment, and evaluation practices within Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions.

Abstract

The telecommunications industry is currently facing dual challenges in the VUCA era (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity). Incumbent companies, particularly state-owned enterprises such as PT Telkom, are required to balance the exploitation of their core business for short-term profitability with the exploration of digital innovations for long-term sustainability. Objective: This study aims to analyze the concept of Ambidextrous Leadership as a key capability for senior leaders in navigating this innovation paradox and to formulate a conceptual framework for its application within state-owned enterprises. Method: The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by the PRISMA protocol. Articles were collected from reputable databases (Scopus, Google Scholar) over the past ten years using keywords related to ambidextrous leadership and digital transformation. Results: The findings indicate that Ambidextrous Leadership consists of two dynamic behaviors: opening behavior (encouraging risk-taking and variance) and closing behavior (emphasizing efficiency and target achievement). In the bureaucratic context of state-owned enterprises, leaders require high cognitive flexibility to switch between these two modes. Conclusion: The implementation of Ambidextrous Leadership in the telecommunications sector necessitates an organizational culture that tolerates failure during the exploration phase while maintaining discipline during the exploitation phase.
