Abstract

Digital transformation presents novel opportunities within education; however, persistently low learning motivation and underdeveloped career awareness among students continue to pose significant challenges. This study investigates the efficacy of an integrative counseling model grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) for enhancing learning motivation and career awareness among senior high school students. A randomized controlled trial (RCT) employing a pretest–posttest control group design with a one-month follow-up was implemented. From an initial pool of 78 screened students, 60 who met the inclusion criteria were randomly allocated to either an intervention group (n = 30) or a control group (n = 30). The intervention group received eight structured digital counseling sessions delivered via Zoom and WhatsApp, facilitated by certified school counselors. The session content targeted the core TPB constructs: attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and behavioral intentions. Intervention fidelity was ensured through the use of session checklists and weekly supervision. Baseline demographic data confirmed group equivalence (mean age = 16.4 years; 55% female; all p > .05). The Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) and the Career Awareness Scale were administered to measure outcomes. Repeated Measures Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) yielded a significant group × time interaction effect for both learning motivation (F(2, 116) = 8.72, p < .001, η² = 0.13) and career awareness (F(2, 116) = 9.15, p < .001, η² = 0.14). No adverse events were reported. The results substantiate the effectiveness of the TPB-based digital counseling intervention, although limitations such as the single-site sample and brief follow-up period warrant caution regarding the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

Domestic violence (DV) against wives remains a serious issue in Indonesia. Marital interaction and social support play a crucial role in improving the quality of life of wives who are victims of DV. This study generally aims to examine the effects of marital interaction, domestic violence, and social support on wives’ quality of life by testing hypotheses using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design through an online survey. The study involved 100 wives who were victims of DV, selected using purposive sampling in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. The instruments used included the Interpersonal Behavior Scale, Domestic Violence Frequency, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and a modified version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life, all of which underwent pilot testing. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s correlation test via SPSS. The effect testing was performed using SMART-PLS, with model fit evaluated through fit measures, yielding a GoF> 0.36, indicating acceptable model adequacy for hypothesis testing. The results showed that marital interaction had a significant negative effect on domestic violence (β = -0.752***; p < 0.001). Domestic violence had a significant negative effect on social support (β = -0.285**; p < 0.01), while social support had a significant positive effect on wives’ quality of life (β = 0.545***; p < 0.001). Interestingly, domestic violence also demonstrated a significant positive effect on wives’ quality of life (β = 0.230*; p < 0.05). In addition, marital interaction significantly and positively affected wives’ quality of life (β = 0.330**; p < 0.01). These findings indicate that all research variables are interrelated and influence wives’ quality of life, thereby supporting all proposed hypotheses. The findings of this study provide practical implications for family counseling and psychosocial interventions in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. Strengthening social support for wives who are victims of domestic violence is essential. Support from family members and close relatives, which remains limited, needs to be reinforced through family counseling, empathic communication training, and education on women’s rights. This study, however, has several limitations, including the absence of interviews, reliance solely on the victims’ perspectives, and data collection conducted exclusively through online surveys.

Abstract

This study explores the leadership practices of school principals in transmigration areas to improve education quality, identifying key supporting and inhibiting factors, along with potential solutions. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis involving principals, teachers, supervisors, and school committees. Findings indicate that the principal applied an Integrated Adaptive Leadership (IAL) model, which combines charismatic, situational, democratic, transformational, servant, and instructional approaches. This leadership integration proved effective in strengthening teacher competence, participatory school management, and a positive school culture, thereby contributing to improvements in the input, process, and output dimensions of education quality. Supporting factors for leadership success include teacher loyalty, a conducive school climate, and active community engagement, while inhibiting factors consist of limited facilities and infrastructure, low technological competence, insufficient government support, and the socio-economic conditions of the community. Solutions identified encompass capacity strengthening for principals and teachers, greater utilization of information technology, enhancement of community participation, and active advocacy to local government. The novelty of this study lies in its direct exploration of principal leadership in transmigration areas, explicitly linked to educational quality indicators in the Education Report. Practically, the research provides important implications for principals, education authorities, and communities in formulating context-sensitive strategies to improve education quality. Theoretically, its contribution extends the study of educational leadership into marginalized and under-resourced settings.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) requires optimal self-management, especially for patients undergoing Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), where education and adherence play a central role in treatment success. Although the use of mobile health technologies has increased, evidence regarding their educational potential in CAPD care remains fragmented. This scoping review aimed to identify and synthesize existing evidence on mobile app-based educational interventions for CAPD self-management in CKD patients, focusing on the most effective features, learning outcomes, and implementation barriers. A comprehensive literature search was conducted through PubMed, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar for studies published in English from 2014 to 2024, following PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Twenty studies met the inclusion criteria, consisting of eight quantitative, seven qualitative, and five mixed-method designs. The review found that mobile app-based education improved patients’ knowledge, adherence to dialysis procedures, and self-monitoring behavior. The most effective features included interactive educational modules, personalized care reminders, symptom-tracking tools, and two-way communication between patients and healthcare providers. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, such as limited digital literacy, inconsistent app usability, and lack of integration with clinical systems. These findings indicate that mobile educational applications have strong potential to enhance CAPD self-management by providing accessible, interactive, and patient-centered learning tools, while emphasizing the need for standardized evaluation frameworks and longitudinal studies to assess their long-term effectiveness and clinical impact.

Abstract

The Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 24 of 2022 mandates that all healthcare facilities in Indonesia implement Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to improve the quality and efficiency of health services. In response to this policy, this study utilized a cross-sectional mixed-methods approach to evaluate the implementation of EMR and its impact on medical record work units in a regional hospital. A total of 26 EMR users, consisting of medical record officers and relevant health workers, were selected through total sampling to provide both quantitative and qualitative data. The evaluation framework integrates the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to assess system quality, information quality, user satisfaction, and intention to continue using EMR. Quantitative findings demonstrate that information quality and system quality have strong and statistically significant relationships with intention to use EMR (p = 0.001), explaining 66.3% and 52.8% of the variance, respectively. Meanwhile, thematic analysis of qualitative data reveals that EMR enhances workflow efficiency, accelerates information retrieval, and strengthens service coordination across hospital units. However, challenges such as occasional system downtime, limited digital literacy among some users, and incomplete menu features still hinder optimal utilization. The integrated interpretation indicates that sustained user acceptance relies on the alignment between perceived usefulness and reliable system performance. This study underscores the need for continuous system refinement, structured and ongoing training, and adequate resource support to ensure EMR implementation contributes effectively to hospital service quality and digital health transformation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Commercial contraceptives represent a growing segment in family planning, yet evidence on what drives consumers to consistently repurchase these products remains limited, especially in emerging markets. This study addresses a theoretical gap in health marketing by examining how perceived value, service quality, and trust shape repurchase intention, with customer satisfaction as a mediating mechanism. A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 381 reproductive-age wives (15–49 years) using injectable, implant, or IUD contraceptives in North Lombok, Indonesia, selected through systematic random sampling. Respondents varied in education and employment status to reflect real market diversity. All constructs were measured using validated Likert-scale instruments with reliability and validity confirmed through composite reliability and AVE thresholds. Data were analyzed using SEM-PLS (SmartPLS) to test hypotheses and mediation effects. The results show that trust has the strongest effect on repurchase intention ( P value= 0.011), followed by service quality (P value= 0.011) and perceived value (P value= 0.032). These findings imply that strengthening trust through credible information, consistent product quality, and reliable service delivery can enhance consumer loyalty. Private healthcare providers and distributors should improve counseling and service experience to differentiate commercial products from government-subsidized options. While offering policy insights on cost reduction and self-reliant family planning, this study acknowledges limitations related to its single-location and cross-sectional design, suggesting caution in generalizing results. Future research should expand across diverse regions and contraceptive types to enrich understanding of consumer behavior in the contraceptive market.

Abstract

Digital health technologies (DHTs) are revolutionizing healthcare by enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency in hospitals. However, the adoption of these technologies involves significant financial investments and raises questions regarding their cost-effectiveness. This study examines the role of cost accounting in evaluating and supporting the adoption of digital health technologies in hospitals, exploring how accurate cost assessment can influence decision-making, resource allocation, and overall hospital efficiency. Through a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of hospital financial data and qualitative interviews with hospital administrators, this research identifies key cost factors associated with DHT adoption, including capital expenditure, operational costs, and indirect benefits like patient care improvement. Findings show that hospitals employing comprehensive cost accounting methods are better positioned to make informed decisions regarding DHT investments, leading to improved patient care and streamlined operations. The paper also discusses challenges such as the initial financial burden and integration complexities that hospitals face when adopting digital health solutions. Policy implications for optimizing cost accounting practices to support technology adoption in healthcare are discussed.

Abstract

Greater Jakarta, a densely populated metropolitan area, continues to face persistent and complex flooding challenges. Despite flood control efforts in the environmental sector, these initiatives remain fragmented and lack integration. This research aims to integrate river management policies to reduce flood risks in Greater Jakarta, a critical economic region. By developing a cohesive approach, the study seeks to formulate effective mitigation strategies focused on sustainable river management planning, enhanced coordination among stakeholders, and the development of adaptive flood management solutions. The research proposes an innovative model for integrated flood management under the concept of "One River, One Planning, One Integrated Management," which addresses the fragmentation of river management through a holistic approach. This model incorporates key aspects such as groundwater resources, sanitation, and agricultural irrigation. The study employs an Explanatory Sequential Design methodology, integrating quantitative and qualitative data analysis in two stages. In the first stage, quantitative data were collected through surveys with 350 respondents from seven areas in Greater Jakarta, representing diverse community demographics. In the second stage, qualitative data were gathered through interviews with seven heads of the Environmental Agency (DLH) across these regions, as well as group discussions with 25 representatives from government, academia, and Watershed Forums. The research utilizes multiple indicators to assess the effectiveness of the proposed policy model, including technical infrastructure, stakeholder coordination, and community participation. The findings suggest that integrated flood management strategies can enhance collaboration among stakeholders, improve flood mitigation practices, and strengthen the capacity of the River Authority Agency (BOS) in Greater Jakarta. Statistical results and qualitative insights from the study highlight the potential for policy innovation, particularly in fostering inter-agency collaboration. The research’s main outputs include a Sinta 2 Journal article, policy briefs, intellectual property rights (IPR), and proposals to the government for strengthening flood management frameworks. The study demonstrates practical contributions to flood management, providing actionable insights for improving policy implementation and coordination across multiple governance levels.
