Abstract

Although prior tourism research has examined service quality, destination security, and tourist satisfaction separately, limited studies have structurally integrated these variables to explain tourists’ quality of life, particularly in secondary urban destinations. Drawing on service quality and well-being perspectives, this study examines the mediating role of tourist satisfaction in linking information service quality and destination security to tourists’ quality of life in Bukittinggi. Data were collected through an online survey using purposive sampling, involving 70 respondents who had previously visited Bukittinggi. The measurement model met validity and reliability criteria (AVE > 0.50; CR > 0.70). Structural relationships were analyzed using PLS-SEM with bootstrapping. The results show that information service quality significantly affects tourist satisfaction (β = 0.204, p < 0.05) and quality of life (β = 0.215, p < 0.05), while destination security significantly influences satisfaction (β = 0.732, p < 0.001) but not quality of life directly. The model explains 81.1% of the variance in satisfaction and 82.0% in quality of life. Mediation analysis confirms that tourist satisfaction fully mediates the effect of destination security and partially mediates the influence of information service quality. These findings underscore the role of satisfaction as a mechanism translating service and security perceptions into well-being outcomes. However, the small non-probability sample and self-reported data may limit generalizability.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and examine the feasibility and effectiveness of a website-based e-counselling model as a support service for academic services in higher education. The increasing need for flexible, accessible, and efficient counselling services motivated the development of this model, particularly to assist students in coping with academic challenges and adapting to the university environment. The study employed a research and development approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The feasibility of the model was evaluated through expert validation and user testing, with indicators including content relevance, system usability, service accessibility, and functional design. The results of expert validation indicated that the website-based e-counselling model was categorized as highly feasible for implementation. User testing further supported these findings, with the overall feasibility assessment classified as very feasible. The effectiveness of the model was tested using a one-group pre-test–post-test design without a control group. Effectiveness indicators included students’ perceived quality of academic services, accessibility of counselling services, responsiveness of academic support, and student satisfaction with counselling services. Statistical analysis using a paired-sample t-test revealed a significant improvement in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores (p < 0.001). The magnitude of the improvement was substantial, as indicated by a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.94). These findings demonstrate that the developed website-based e-counselling model is not only feasible but also highly effective in enhancing the quality of academic services for university students.

Abstract

This study explores the essence of table tennis athletes’ lived experiences when using a Virtual Reality (VR)–based forehand smash training model. Using a phenomenological approach, data were collected from provincial-level athletes through in-depth interviews, observation, and training documentation. The findings reveal a central experiential tension: while VR enhances cognitive engagement, decision-making, and technical awareness through immersive and feedback-rich environments, it simultaneously produces a sense of sensorimotor dissonance a mismatch between visual realism and the absence of authentic haptic and physical feedback. Athletes described this as a “different feel,” requiring continuous recalibration between virtual and real-world play. This duality positions VR not as a replacement for conventional training, but as a complementary tool that strengthens perceptual–cognitive aspects of performance while remaining limited in embodied sensory fidelity. These results highlight the importance of designing VR training systems that better integrate multisensory feedback and aligning their use within hybrid training models to optimize skill transfer and athlete experience.

Abstract

Despite the increasing concern over school bullying in Indonesia, limited empirical studies have examined teachers’ attitudes toward bullying across different school contexts and professional statuses. This study aims to compare teachers’ attitudes toward school bullying based on school location (suburban and rural) and teacher certification status. A quantitative survey design was employed using the Teachers’ Attitudes About Bullying Questionnaire (TAABQ), administered to 75 in-service high school teachers in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Participants were selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and comparative analysis of mean scores across groups. The findings revealed four key dimensions of teachers’ attitudes: system commitment, teacher commitment, concern, and confidence. Overall, teachers demonstrated strong awareness of the negative impact of bullying and emphasized the need for school policies, parental involvement, and professional development programs. Certified teachers consistently reported higher scores across all dimensions compared to uncertified teachers. Similarly, teachers in suburban schools showed stronger commitment and concern, whereas teachers in rural schools reported relatively higher confidence in handling bullying incidents. These findings contribute theoretically to the literature on teacher responses to school bullying in developing-country contexts and provide practical implications for teacher professional development and anti-bullying policy interventions.

Abstract

The Jeneberang Watershed plays a vital role as a hydrological buffer in South Sulawesi but faces spatially varying land degradation pressures. This study aims to analyze the spatial variability of soil physical and chemical properties and their implications for hydrological functions along an elevation gradient (toposequence). A soil survey method was conducted using purposive sampling in three agroecological zones: Upstream (Malino, >1000 masl), Middle (Parangloe, 400-800 masl), and Downstream (Gowa/Samata, <100 masl) with a total of 15 representative pedons. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Pearson correlation. Results showed significant polarization of soil characteristics (p<0.05). The upstream zone was dominated by sandy loam texture with high total porosity (62.4%), but constrained by acidic pH (4.2 – 4.8) and Aluminum toxicity (Exch-Al: 2.8 – 4.5cmol(+)/kg) due to intensive leaching. Conversely, the downstream zone showed high base accumulation (Base Saturation > 50%) with neutral pH, but had physical constraints in the form of high Bulk Density (1.35 g/cm3) and micropore dominance hindering infiltration. The study concludes that Jeneberang Watershed management requires site-specific approaches: the upstream zone needs organic matter amelioration to chelate Al and maintain structure, while the downstream zone requires soil aeration management to mitigate runoff.

Abstract

Abstract

Kualitas tenaga kependidikan merupakan kunci operasional perguruan tinggi, namun dinamika kompetisi interpersonal sering kali memicu perilaku destruktif seperti Crab Barrel Syndrome (CBS).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing Technology-Integrated Arts Education in simultaneously enhancing creativity and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Literacy among elementary school students. The background of this study is the urgent need to prepare the younger generation with 21st-century skills, particularly creativity, as well as global awareness regarding sustainability issues. This study employed a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design involving 64 fourth-grade students (n=32 experimental, n=32 control). Data were collected using the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT) and the Elementary SDGs Literacy Scale (ESL-S) administered before and after the eight-week intervention. Results from the one-way ANCOVA revealed that the Technology-Integrated Arts Education model was significantly more effective than conventional learning for enhancing creativity (F(1, 61) = 145.32, p < 0.001, η² = 0.48) and SDGs literacy (F(1, 61) = 162.18, p < 0.001, η² = 0.52). Significant improvements were observed across specific domains, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). These findings suggest that integrating digital tools into art activities facilitates creative expression and instills a contextual understanding of sustainability. This study suggests this intervention as a potential strategy for the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) curriculum to prepare future educators in integrating technology, arts, and sustainability.

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in the relationship among phubbing and social media addiction among undergraduate students. Excessive social media use and problematic smartphone behavior have increasingly been associated with psychological distress and addictive digital behaviors among young adults. Using a quantitative explanatory research design, data were collected from 291 undergraduate students through convenience sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The measurement instruments were adapted from previously validated scales assessing phubbing, FoMO, and social media addiction. The findings revealed that phubbing had a significant positive effect on FoMO (β = 0.334, p < 0.001) and social media addiction (β = 0.359, p < 0.001). Furthermore, FoMO significantly predicted social media addiction (β = 0.671, p < 0.001). Mediation analysis demonstrated that FoMO significantly mediated the relationship between phubbing and social media addiction (β = 0.224, t = 4.98, p < 0.001), indicating a partial mediation effect. The structural model showed moderate explanatory power, with R² values of 0.540 for FoMO and 0.573 for social media addiction. These results recommed that psychological factors, particularly FoMO, provude to explaining how phubbing behavior is associated with dificult social media use among university students. This study contributes to the increasing theory on digital behavior by integrating behavioral and cognitive-emotional factors within a single structural framework.
