Abstract

ABSTRACTPre-experimental reserach had been conducted on the result of understanding concept for Basic Electronics course after the implementation of tic tac toe game on linear passive component. The sample of the study was the tenth grade students of MA Raudlatutta’allum Cidahu, Tamanjaya, Tamansari, Tasikmalaya. The purpose of the reserah is to reveal the improvement of understanding concept for Basic Electronics course on linear passive component after the implementation of tic tac toe game. The result of the study  showed that the implmentation of this game could improve the students’understanding concept toward the material with significant and high gain.    Keywords : understanding concept, basic electronics, tic tac toe game

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektifitas metode pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kooperatif Promosi Degradasi (KPD) untuk pembelajaran praktik kerja batu mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan Fakuktas Teknik Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan yang mengambil mata kuliah praktik kerja batu pada semester 1 dan semester 3. Jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 50 orang, 31 orang asal SMU dan 19 orang asal SMK. Pelaksanaan tindakan untuk mahasiwa semester 1 sebanyak 5 kali dan untuk mahasisawa semester 3 sebanyak 4 kali. Pembagian kerja kelompok praktik dikombinasikan secara homogin, heterogen, acak, dan selera pribadi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, cek list, rekaman gambar dan angket. Anilisis data menggunakan teknik kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa pendekatan KPD untk pembelajaran praktik kerja terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa, bukti-bukti yang mendukung yaitu: (1) nilai yang diperoleh mahasiswa cenderung meningkat (2) motivasi belajar makin tinggi dan (3) pembelajaran KPD dipersepsi positif oleh mahasiswa. Efek-efek yang mengemuka dalam pendekatan KPD terdiri dari efek positif dan negatif. Adapun kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan KPD yaitu: (1) terbatasnya peralatan praktik (2) belum tersedia ruang praktik yang baku dan (3) belum membudaya bagi dosen dan mahasiswa. Rekomendasi dari temuan penelitian ini adalah untuk segera mengimplementasikan metode pembelajaran praktik dengan pendekatan KPD dan perlunya melengkapi alat praktik yang kurang.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purposes of this research are to (1) identify the character values which are developed and integratedin the learning process, (2) reveal teachers’ learning strategy and its evaluation in integrating character values inthe learning process, and (3) identify the obstacels among vocational high school teachers of Building departmentin integrating character values.This study belongs to descriptive-evaluative research which was conducted through 8 state vocational highschools of Building department in Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research was under the umbrella theme from3 studies of the students of Civil Engineering Education and Planning Department, Faculty of Engineering UNY.The research participants were the teachers who taught the subjects of normative skills, vocational theory, andvocational practicum in Building Department of Vocational High Schools. Data collection techniques were usingquestionnaire, interview and documentation. Instrument validation was conducted by content validation. Dataanalysis technique was using descriptive analysis for both quantitative and qualitative method.The result of the research showed that (1) character values was developed differently through integrationthe learning process in the subjects of normative skills, vocational theory, and vocational practicum but most ofthem were not written in syllabus or lesson plan, (2) most of the learning strategies were generally conventionalones, which were not not written in syllabus or lesson plan as well as in the learning scenario, (3) the evaluationof character education was the weakest aspect from the implementation of integrated character education onlearning process because it had not conducted appropriately yet with the integrated character values, and (4) theteacher obstacles in implementing integrated character values were especially related to the teachers’ low abilityin designing, implementing, and evaluating the learning process of developed charKeywords: integrated learning of character values

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to develop Screencast-based learning media for the course of spreadsheets  and to investigate its performance. This study utilised research and development approach that consists of: (1) Preparation that includes preparing the tools and materials (2) Recording that includes selecting an area of captures, recording mode screencast, and audio settings on the recording device, (3) Editing that includes adding drawing and callouts elements, editing the timeline, adding zooming effects, animation effects, and audio supports for the introduction, backsound, and narration, (4) Publishing that includes publishing the edited video into a single unit, converting the video format into mp4 with the format factory, (5) Finishing that includes making quizzes then merging the videos and quizzes into united media with the.exe extension. The performance of the media video has achieved the determined plan. When it is run, auto play menu appears to select the screencast.exe.

Abstract

The environment is an inseparable element of human health.  A good environmental management will bring benefit to human and surrounding. The successful implementation of International Standardized Management System (SML) ISO 14001 is determined by various factors and one of the factors is training. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation of training climate and self-efficacy to the effectiveness of ISO 14001 SML training. This study was categorized as a quantitative type with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of participants with the total sampling of 90 respondents. The research variables include the training climate, self-efficacy and the effectiveness of the training. This study was conducted in PT XYZ, one of the manufacturing company in Jakarta. The results indicated that training climate and self-efficacy promote the effectiveness of the training with the percentages of 46.7% and 51.1% respectively. The prevalence of ratio that increases the opportunity for practical training is managers’ support (12.9), mastery experience (5.7), and opportunities to use learned abilities (0.2). In conclusion, the climate training and self-efficacy show a positive relationship with the effectiveness of training

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) bidang-bidang karir yang banyak diminati mahasiswa D-3; (2) bidang karir yang kurang diminati oleh mahasiswa D-3 Program Studi Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Populasi penelitian adalah semua mahasiswa D-3 Program Studi Teknik Mesin FT-UNY angkatan tahun 2005, 2006 dan 2007 yang berjumlah 359 orang. Jumlah sampel ditetapkan dengan menggunakan pedoman dari Krecjic dan Morgan untuk taraf kesalahan 5% yaitu 180 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode stratified proporsional random sampling dengan proporsi masing-masing strata sebesar 50%. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket yang berisi “A Self-Inventory for Career Planning”. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif dalam bentuk presentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) bidang-bidang karir yang banyak diminati oleh mahasiswa D-3 teknik mesin FT-UNY adalah: karir dalam bidang pekerjaan manajerial (managerial work), pekerjaan yang memerlukan kreativitas (creative work), pekerjaan mekanistik (mechanical work), dan Pekerjaan yang berhubungan dengan fisik, banyak menggunakan tangan (physical work). Bidang-bidang karir yang kurang diminati oleh mahasiswa D-3 teknik mesin FT-UNY adalah karir dalam bidang pekerjaan yang menangani pemeliharaan dokumen (clerical work), pekerjaan yang banyak berhubungan dengan orang lain (interpersonal work), pekerjaan di bidang baca dan tulis (written work) dan pekerjaan verbal/lisan (oral work).

Abstract

This study aims to identify a learning involving the world of work, to formulate the learning model, and to evaluate the learning model. This study used a qualitative approach for design and development research, consisting of the development and validation steps. The study concludes as follows. (1) the learning through partnerships having been conducted in all vocational high schools were industrial practice and vocational practice examination. (2) the constraints of learning through partnerships were mainly the far distance and the industry schedules that did not always match with the school’s. (3) the model development could be done by improving the learning quality by industrial practices in the private companies and with adding the learning model by industry visits, guest teaching, and up-to-date technology training. (4) the implementation of the developed model showed the feasibility and the effectiveness to prepare the students with the competencies required by the world of work. (5) the learning models through partnerships that could be practiced were guest teaching, orientation for industrial practice, industrial practices, students’ industry visits, up-to-date technology training, and vocational practice examination.

Abstract

Vocational education building and development must consider the needs of the industry and the demands of 21st-century skills graduates. For these two requirements, it is necessary to innovate the learning model to improve the students’ learning experience and graduates’ performance. This study aims to develop a production-based learning model that is integrated with 21st-century learning skills to improve skills in mechanical engineering. The study employed focus group discussion and experts’ judgment. This study involved the mechanical engineering lecturers, the head of laboratory at the mechanical engineering department, the head of the department of mechanical engineering, the head of mechanical engineering vocational education, the head of the mechanical laboratory at the vocational schools, mechanical engineering teachers, vocational technology education experts, and curriculum specialists. The results show that the utility, feasibility, propriety, and accuracy of the production-based learning model integrated with 21st-century learning skills met the expected criteria and could be used to improve mechanical engineering skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana model pembelajaran Algoritma-Heuristik dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran praktik pemesinan. Peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya aktivitas dan kemandirian mahasiswa serta meningkatnya prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang diawali dengan perencanaan, kemudian pelaksanaan tindakan dan observasi, refleksi, dan diikuti perencanaan ulang untuk tindakan berikutnya hingga benar-benar dapat diambil sebuah kesimpulan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi penilaian benda kerja hasil praktik, dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan catatan penting tentang masalah  pembelajaran dikelas, observasi untuk mengadakan pencatatan secara sistematis mengenai tingkah laku secara langsung kelompok ataupun individu, dan wawancara digunakan untuk mengungkap data tentang pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Metode analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik diskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran algoritma-heuristik dapat meningkatkan keaktivan mahasiswa sebesar 14,55%, kemandirian  mahasiswa meningkat sebesar 11,2%, dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa meningkat sebesar 5,625%. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode pembelajaran algoritma-heuristik dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran praktik pemesinan sebesar 10,45 %.

Abstract

This study was conducted by applying a research and development design with the aim of producing a learning tool in the form of Artificial Intelligence robot module and kit based on Contextual Teaching and Learning at the Department of Electrical Engineering to improve the students’ skills. This was a development research adopting 4-D model, proposed by Thiagarajan and Semmel (1974) that consisted of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Data of the Indonesia Robot Contest during the period 2009-2015 reveals that the developed modules have reached the fourth stage of 4-D research model that is dissemination thus, the module is considered perfect, ready to be duplicated and distributed as a learning device for Artificial Intelligence robotics courses. While, the developed module was validated with the average assessment score of 3.34.  The module is expected to be able to produce Artificial Intelligence Robot Tool for teaching based on Contextual Teaching and Learning to improve the students’ skills to be applied in the field. In the results, students also showed positive responses on the robotics module and Contextual Teaching and Learning strategy.
