Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kreativitas mahasiswa dalam menghasilkan produk dan cara-cara yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kreativitas setelah mendapat perlakuan metode proyek dengan pola brainstorming dalam mata kuliah Praktik Fabrikasi. Penelitian ini termasuk quasi experiment. Teknik analisis yang digunakan, yaitu: (1) analisis dekriptif; (2) Uji-t sampel berkorelasi; dan Uji-t independent. Pelaksanaan kerja proyek (project work)  pada masing-masing kelompok dilakukan dengan empat tahap, yaitu: (1) persiapan, (2) pengembangan ide, (3) seleksi ide, dan (4) penentuan ide. Pada tahap persiapan, mahasiswa mengumpulkan berbagai informasi mengenai obyek yang akan dibuat. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa kreativitas mahasiswa sebelum perlakuan pada kelompok perlakuan sebesar 55,02% dan kelompok control sebesar 54,12%. Kreativitas mahasiswa setelah perlakuan pada kelompok perlakuan sebesar 70,32% dan kelompok kontrol sebesar 58,85%. Ada peningkatan kreativitas mahasiswa secara signifikan setelah diberi perlakuan dengan model belajar brainstorming. Terdapat perbedaan kreativitas yang signifikan antara mahasiswa kelompok perlakuan dengan kelompok kontrol setelah perlakuan dengan model belajar brainstorming.

Abstract

Community-based tourism (CBT) is one of the tourist attracting ways involving local community which aims to develop and to enhance the era as well as to bring renewal to the local community. It includes the involvement of youth. CBT comes in various types and this study was conducted to find how CBT can create youth engagement in the homestay program. There were various factors that motivate youth to participate in homestay program. This study involved one case study of a qualitative study conducted in a district in Sabah, namely in Kundasang.  In this study, Mersilou Homestay and Walai Tokou Homestay were chosen to be used as a place of study to review factors youth engagement in the homestay program.  Data collection was through interviews in partial structures.  Data were analyzed using NviVo 10 software and based on certain themes.  The findings shown that there were several factors which drive engagement of youth in the homestay program in terms of interests, income, parental encouragement and comfort working in their own areas.  In conclusion, the engagement of youth in the homestay program is based on the factors discovered in the study.

Abstract

Teachers had a strategic role in helping achieving an educational purpose. Every teacher should have specific competencies. Sustainable quality improvement of teachers needed to get support and attention from various stakeholders including leaders at schools and government.  Therefore, a medium was required to facilitate the process of various knowledge of teacher competency which had been documented and unlimited to time and location. One of the solutions was developing a knowledge management system. The research method was adopted from Knowledge Management System Life Cycle (KMSLC) method. Results of this research was a web-based knowledge management system with features supporting the process of capturing, developing, distributing, and utilizing knowledge. Development of the knowledge management system could facilitate teachers to gain knowledge related to teachers’ competencies easily.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) mendapatkan pola  penerapan pembelajaran berbasis lesson study untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dan (2) mengetahui kompetensi yang dicapai mahasiswa melalui pembelajaran berbasis lesson study pada mata kuliah Analisis Sistem Tenaga Listrik. Penelitian ini  dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun akademik 2008/2009 di Program Studi Teknik Elektro D3 FT UNY pada mata kuliah Analisis Sistem Tenaga Listrik. Sistem pembelajaran yang diterapkan dengan lesson study model Lewis.  Teknik pengambilan data dengan kolaborasi, observasi, kuesioner, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Instrumen menggunakan lembar observasi, angket, pedoman wawancara dan kamera. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif, analisis refleksi kolaboratif  oleh kelompok dan  pakar. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh antara lain: (1)  Pola  penerapan pembelajaran berbasis lesson study pada mata kuliah Analisis Sistem Tenaga Listrik yang dapat meningkatkan pencapaian kompetensi bagi mahasiswa, (2) Kompetensi yang dicapai mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Analisis Sistem Tenaga Listrik yang dalam perkuliahannya menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis lesson study ditandai dengan jumlah mahasiswa yang meraih nilai di atas atau sama dengan 70 sebanyak 20 orang atau 66,66 %.

Abstract

To remove a growing gap between students’ skills received in vocational high schools and real demands in the workforce, industries should be actively involved not only as external users but to work in curriculum development and learning evaluation. This study describes the process of planning, implementation, and supervision of an industry standard class resulted from collaboration between the school and the industry. This study was a qualitative study using data collection techniques of interviews, observation and documentation. The results revealed (1) the industry and the school were partners in planning the industry standard class including development of curriculum, facilities, infrastructure, teachers, and materials, (2) implementation of the class included theoritical and practical learning, and industry practices, (3) supervision was performed by the industry partner administrating industry standard competency tests, and (4) management of the class consisted of three sequenced stages namely selection of students in the third semester, implementation of industry standardized teaching and learning process from the third semester to the sixth semester, and a competency test in the sixth semester.

Abstract

There are three problems in teaching engineering, especially in the field of electricity, those are: (1) students are unable to read electricity wiring; (2) students do not understand the basic concepts of electricity; (3) students do not understand the basic concept of the relationship between the electrical components. The purpose of this article are: (1) to describe multimedia, especially interactive multimedia engine management systems, prior knowledge, problem-solving; (2) to describe the relationship between interactive multimedia and prior knowledge; (3) to describe the relationship between interactive multimedia and problem solving; and (4) to provide the concept of interactive multimedia engine management system. The collection of information in this article uses a literature review or library research. Problem-solving is an attempt to solve problems through high-level thinking (high order thinking). Prior knowledge is the initial knowledge students have when entering topics with the same background. The existence of interactive multimedia or multimedia has a positive impact on prior knowledge. Some interactive multimedia research has a positive impact on the ability of problem-solving.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan proses belajar mengajar mata kuliah Jaringan Komputer menggunakan media pembelajaran Packet tracer 5.0 yang seharusnya, serta dampaknya terhadap motivasi, pemahaman, dan nilai akhir mahasiswa. Kinerja yang diukur adalah kesesuaian proses belajar mengajar dengan rencana tindakan, motivasi mahasiswa mengikuti kuliah Jaringan Komputer, pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi Jaringan Komputer, dan persentase mahasiswa yang mendapat nilai B ke atas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research). Model yang digunakan mengadopsi model dasar yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan McTaggart terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, dan refleksi. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur kinerja tersebut adalah lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan analisis data, subjek penelitian dan Lembar Belajar Mahasiswa, menunjukkan bahwa (1) PBM mata kuliah Jaringan Komputer telah dilaksanakan sesuai perencanaan, (2) Motivasi mahasiswa dalam mengikuti perkuliahan meningkat sampai dengan 90%, (3) Peningkatan pemahaman  terhadap materi kuliah meningkat rata-rata 76%, dan (4) PBM mata kuliah Jaringan Komputer menggunakan media pembelajaran Packet tracer 5.0 dapat menghasilkan jumlah mahasiswa yang lulus dengan nilai B ke atas lebih dari 70%.

Abstract

A Raspberry Pi Trainer is a tool which is able to support and facilitate the learning process of the subject of microprocessors and microcontrollers.  The objective of this study was to find out the process and the results of the implementation of a Raspberry Pi Trainer for the subject of microprocessors and microcontrollers in the expertise program of industrial electronics in vocational high schools. This study used a qualitative method. The descriptive data were resulted from the observed students’ behavior in the form of the research informants’ activities covering the domains of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective. There were 20 informants divided into two classes, 10 in class XII A and 10 in class XII B. Each class consisted of 2 males and 8 females. The results showed the Raspberry Pi Trainer was well applied in practical learning activities. The average abilities of class XII B and class XII A for the domains of cognitive, psychomotor and affective were categorized as very good, good and moderate respectively.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to develop an applicable Teaching factory model for practices in the automotive workshop of SMK Karsa Mulya Palangkaraya. This study used a quantitative approach. It was conducted in grade XI of Motorcycles Engineering Department at SMK Karsa Mulya Palangkaraya. It was carried out in five phases: (1) preliminary investigation, (2) design; (3) realization / construction, (4) test, evaluation and revision, (5) field testing / implementation. Data collection instruments consisted of observation sheets and assessment sheets. The results of the competency tests of 19 students were: (a) Tune Up; the highest score, the lowest score and the average score were 98.82, 89.41, 95.23 respectively (b) Over Haul; the highest score, the lowest score and the average score were 90.67, 82.67, 85.55 respectively (c) System Starter; the highest score, the lowest score and the average score were 80.00, 77.33, 78.00 respectively. Thus it was noted that the model can be applied in the vocational workshop of Motorcycle Engineering Department at SMK Karsa Mulya Palangkaraya

Abstract

ABSTRACTStudents find it difficult to master the hydraulic and pneumatic system due to the lack of imagination on the component movement. It affects students’ learningprocess on the hydraulic and pneumatic system application. In order to solve the problem, the lecturer of Mechatronics course used the Automation Studio application. This software was helpful to design various automations, such as combination of hydraulic system, pneumatic system, electric system, and PLC. The lecturing process and design simulation were conducted by using Automation Studio. In general, the students were so much helped by this program in mastering the theory and practice of hydraulic and Pneumatic. On the other hand, it was found some problem in applying the Automation Studio on the classroom. The problems were limited onthe menu option as well ason the technical aspects related to the number of the computer. The implications from the writers’ experience in using Automation Studio were there was an opportunity for computer programmer to create learningmedia/ software for certain competence which was relevant, accessible and applicable. Also, in case of software preparation, it should be conducted by the lecturers and the students before the learning process.Keywords: automation studio program, learning process, Pneumatic and hydraulic learning
