Abstract

Research and development that has been carried out by researchers has the aim of producing supplement books with encyclopedia patterns in cultural diversity material and knowing the effectiveness of supplement books with encyclopedia patterns using the EE (Environmental Education) approach. The process of developing teaching materials uses the Borg & Gall model and the implementation of teaching material supplements with encyclopedias using the EE approach with a form of trial or teaching using Serial Position Effect. Based on experiments carried out to validators, the value of Indonesian language validators was 78.3%, material experts by lecturers 90.53%, material experts by teachers 89.48% and design experts 95% with an average of 88.33%, meaning very feasible. While the research for the results of the students' comprehension tests in the post-test by using the product with the EE approach encyclopedia pattern and the pre-test without using the EE approach got very different results. The results in the pre-test get low scores and the post-test scores get medium and high criteria scores. Not only the value obtained but the sense of love for local wisdom, sensitivity to environmental problems, solutions to solve environmental problems awakened, and the ability to remember the material presented. So that for the feasibility of using the product and the effectiveness of the product is feasible to use and can be disseminated in learning.

Abstract

In the 21st‐century digital era, education faces challenges in integrating innovative technologies with relevant curricula, particularly in elementary‐level cultural diversity learning that still relies on traditional methods and lacks engaging media. This study analyzes the effectiveness of integrating Project‐Based Learning (PjBL) with TikTok videos to enhance primary students’ understanding of cultural diversity through a comprehensive systematic literature review. Keyword searches in Google Scholar, Scopus, the Indonesian Publication Index, and university journal portals yielded 48 articles, of which 25 met inclusion criteria—15 quasi‐experimental studies, 6 descriptive studies, and 4 meta‐analyses (14 national, 11 international). Findings reveal that optimal PjBL implementation increases cognitive learning outcomes by up to 90.91%; TikTok‐supported lessons achieve a 4.15 Likert‐scale cognitive engagement score and 71% overall effectiveness; multicultural collaboration skills rise by 15% per cycle; students’ tolerance and empathy improve by up to 30%; creativity reaches 87%; and authentic project relevance scores 94%. The PjBL‐TikTok model thus offers an innovative, culturally responsive strategy, with recommendations to integrate digital multicultural curricula and build teacher capacity in designing multiform projects. The TikTok-based PjBL model thus emerges as a relevant and effective learning strategy to address the increasingly complex challenges of global education.

Abstract

TOEFL Prediction is widely used in Indonesian higher education as a preparatory tool, yet students’ perceptions of the TOEFL test remain rarely explored. This qualitative case study involved ten English Education students (batch 2021) at UIN Datokarama Palu. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and document analysis, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Four indicators emerged: readiness and confidence, test-taking experience, motivation, and perceived fairness. Students valued TOEFL Prediction as a diagnostic tool, but faced challenges such as anxiety, technical issues, and limited vocabulary. TOEFL Prediction functions both as formative assessment and a motivational catalyst for learning.

Abstract

To improve the reading skills of first-grade elementary school students in Indonesian, particularly in relation to reading, this project aims to create picture card-based learning materials. The five steps of the ADDIE development model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, were used in the research and development (R&D) process. Pretests and posttests, expert validation, questionnaires, interviews, and observations were some of the methods used to collect data. Experts in content, media, and language verified the media that had been created, and feedback from teachers and students assessed its usefulness. With a feasibility rating of 94% from media experts, 91% from content experts, and 90% from language experts, the validation findings showed that this learning media was very practical. With a score of 66% from students and 97% from teachers, the practicality was evaluated as practical. Students' conceptual knowledge increased when tested using the N-Gain score distribution category (g > 0.5), which falls into the moderate category. Additionally, an N-Gain score > 52 for the effective interpretation category is part of effective interpretation. Therefore, these picture cards are efficient and suitable for use in elementary classes as teaching aids for Indonesian language.
