Abstract

Membrane that is generally used for separation process could be made using phase inversion technique. This research aims to create polyethersulfone (PES) asymmetric membranes via phase inversion technique using solvent and Trans Membrane Pressure (TMP) as variable. SEM analysis indicated that membranes had asymmetric structure that consits of two layers which denser skin layer on the top surface and the porous support on the bottom. PES/DMF membrane showed larger pore structure than PES/NMP. The permeability coefficients of both membranes were in the ultrafiltration range. The coefficient permeability (Lp) of PES/DMF membrane was 35.769 L/m2.hour, much greater compared to PES/NMP membrane which was 15.364 L/m2.hour.bar. Molecular Weight Cut-Off (MWCO) of PES/DMF membrane was 177 Kda, meanwhile PES/NMP was 186 Kda. Performances of the membranes were evaluated  using dextrane as feed solution. PES/DMF membrane resulted in an higher flux and lower rejection than PES/NMP.Keywords: asymmetric membrane, membrane performance, Molecular Weight Cut-Off (MWCO), morphology, permeability ABSTRAKMembran yang umumnya digunakan untuk proses pemisahan dapat dibuat menggunakan teknik inversi fasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik membran asimetris polietersulfone (PES) yang dibuat menggunakan teknik inversi fasa dengan variabel jenis pelarut dan Trans Membrane Pressure (TMP). Hasil analisis Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) terhadap morfologi membran membuktikan bahwa membran yang dihasilkan merupakan membran asimetris yang terdiri dari dua lapisan yaitu bagian atas merupakan lapisan tipis dan lapisan bawah adalah lapisan berpori. Membran PES/DMF memiliki struktur pori yang lebih besar dibandingkan membran PES/NMP. Koefisien permeabilitas kedua membran yang dihasilkan berada dalam jangkauan ultrafiltrasi. Koefisien permeabilitas (Lp) membran PES/DMF sebesar 35,769 L/m2.jam, nilai ini jauh lebih besar dibandingkan PES/NMP yaitu 15,364 L/m2.jam.bar. Molecular Weight Cut-Off (MWCO) dari membran PES/DMF yaitu 177 Kda sedangkan membran PES/NMP sebesar 186 Kda. Kinerja membran PES/DMF terhadap pemisahan larutan dekstran memberikan nilai fluks yang lebih tinggi daripada membran PES/NMP sedangkan rejeksi yang dihasilkan lebih rendah. Fluks tertinggi diperoleh pada TMP 2 bar sebesar 11,4 L/m2.jam untuk membran PES/DMF dan 10,2 L/m2.jam untuk membran PES/NMP.Kata kunci:          kinerja membran, membran asimetris, Molecular Weight Cut-Off (MWCO), morfologi, permeabilitas

Abstract

This research aims at investigating how to improve the speaking skill at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Palu through Problem-Based Learning. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) where the subject was 22 students. The researcher and her collaborator collected the data by using observation checklists, field notes, test, and questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the application of problem-based learning techniques could improve the students’ speaking skill. In cycle 1, there were 10 students successful in speaking test and the rest were not successful. The group achievement was 45, 45% and the mean score was 67, 36%. The researcher continued to cycle 2 because the result of the speaking test in cycle 1 did not meet the criteria of achievement (50%). In cycle 2, the result revealed that there were 18 students who were successful and there were only 4 students who were not successful. The group achievement was 81, 81% and the mean score was 78, 27%. The research has been completed in cycle 2 because the result showed that the criteria of success 50% have been achieved.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to measure the effect of the application of presentation, Practice, and Production (PPP) of the eleventh year students of MAN 2 Model Palu. This pre-experimental research design took 27 students of the eleventh year students of MAN 2 Model Palu as the sample. They were chosen purposively. The instruments of data collection were observation, interview and oral. The students had limited ability in constructing present continuous tense. It can be seen in the result of mean score of pre-test (1,70). The data analysis showed that the ability of the students in pre-test was 1,70. It means that the speaking ability of the students in pre-test was very low. After the treatment their proficiency improved to be 3,12. It indicated that the speaking ability of the students after the treatment was higher than before the treatment. It means that PPP Method was effective in asking the Eleventh Year Students of Language Program of MAN 2 Model Palu in constructing present continuous tense sentences orally. After conducting the treatment, the researcher found that there was a significant difference between the mean value of the pre-test and post-test. It was proved that t-test value (7,51) was greater than the t-table value (2,05). It means that the use of PPP Method can improve the speaking ability of the Eleventh Year Students of Language Program Class of Man 2 Model Palu.

Abstract

Sugiarmin (2010) menjelaskan anak tunagrahita memiliki masalah tingkah laku seperti mudah beralih perhatian, hiperaktivitas, mengganggu teman atau anak lain, mudah frustasi, sering menangis, merusak benda, melukai diri, meledak-ledak dan menarik diri dari lingkungan sosialnya. Studi kasus Reza Ainun Asyifa  (2017) mendapati perilaku agresif yang paling menonjol dari anak tunagrahita adalah suka berteriak-teriak kepada semua orang, sering mengganggu siswa lain yang dianggap lemah, berbicara yang tidak sopan kepada semua orang, tidak patuh aturan di sekolah maupun rumah, dan sering mengumpat kepada semua orang. Hasil studi pendahuluan menunjukkan, pembiasaan pada anak tunagrahita dapat membentuk tingkah laku anak menjadi positif atau negatif. Penggunaan token ekonomi diharapkan dapat memotivasi anak untuk meningkatkan tingkah laku yang diinginkan dan mengurangi tingkah laku yang tidak diinginkan. Dengan demikian, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan token ekonomi terhadap pembentukan tingkah laku anak tunagrahita. Penelitian quasi eksperimen ini dilakukan dengan memberikan perlakuan pada satu kelompok yang sama dan membandingkan hasil pre-test dan post-test setelah diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan token ekonomi (One Group Pretest-Posttest Design). Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh anak tunagrahita yang bersekolah di SMPLB Bukesra. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi tingkah laku anak. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan rumus  uji Z. Hasil pengujian statistik dengan taraf signifikansi 5% memperoleh hasil Zhitung= 11.75 dan Ztabel= 1.64 (Zhitung> Ztabel). Hal ini bermakna H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa nilai postes tingkah laku anak tunagrahita lebih baik daripada pretest. Artinya terdapat pengaruh penggunaan token ekonomi terhadap pembentukan tingkah laku anak tunagrahita.  Kata Kunci: Token ekonomi, Tingkah Laku, Anak Tunagrahita.

Abstract

This research intended to figure out the main cause of inhibiting factors in Speaking, the causes of that factor, and how to overcome the problem. Qualitative approach used to conduct the research. The subjects were students of VIII-4 graders at MTs.S Babun Najah Banda Aceh. Some instruments were questionnaire and semi-structured interview guide. The data were analysed qualitative descriptively. The results of questionnaire and interview revealed that three inhibiting factors in speaking English were articulation, lack of motivation, and pronunciation. The most inhibiting factor reached the highest percentage was pronunciation and it was a part of linguistic factors. This factor could be occurred because the students did not recognize the symbols of words. The students faced difficulty when they wanted to pronounce the words correctly, and when it happened the students commonly lost or became a trigger when they expressed their ideas English words are different from how they were written and pronounced. Hence, the students need to learn how to recognize the words’ symbols of English to ease them to make sounds (pronounce) the words consistently. To overcome the problems, this research suggested to the Englis teacher to use Audio-Lingual Method to improve students' pronunciation.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the reading comprehension and vocabulary proficiency of students in the eleventh grade at Madrasah Aliyah Al-khairaat Ulatan. The research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design, and the sampling method utilized is total sampling. The study includes 26 students from the eleventh-grade class at Madrasah Aliyah Al-khairaat Ulatan. The research instrument consists of a multiple-choice test, and data collection involves two types of tests: a reading comprehension test and a vocabulary mastery test, each comprising 10 questions. Data analysis was conducted manually using SPSS 25. The findings of the research reveal a significant correlation between reading comprehension and vocabulary mastery, with a two-tailed significance (Sig.) value of 0.007. The calculated correlation coefficient (r) is 0.518, indicating a strong correlation (greater than 0.5 but less than 0.75). The Pearson correlation coefficient of 1 signifies a positive correlation between the two variables. Therefore, the research concludes that the alternative hypothesis (Ha): "The value of r count 0.518 > r table 0.388" is accepted, indicating a correlation between reading comprehension and vocabulary mastery among students in class XI at Madrasah Aliyah Al-khairaat Ulatan.

Abstract

This study addresses the students' need for enhanced speaking skills, particularly in terms of fluency. The inquiry posed in this thesis originates from the question: Can the application of the Presentation, Practice, and Production (PPP) method contribute to the improvement of students' speaking abilities when describing a person at SMP Negeri 5 Sigi? The objective is to ascertain whether the use of the PPP method has a positive impact on students' proficiency in describing individuals. The research adopts a quantitative approach through quasi-experimental methods. The study encompasses the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Sigi, comprising three classes. The experimental class comprises 20 students, while the control class consists of 20 students. Purposive sampling is employed to select students from classes VIII A and VIII B. The research findings demonstrate that the utilization of the Presentation Practice Production (PPP) method significantly enhances students' speaking skills, specifically in terms of fluency. This is evident from the mean scores of the experimental and control classes, which are 17.65 and 8.9, respectively. The calculated t-value of 4.26, with a degree of freedom (df) of 38 (20+20-2) and a significance level of 0.05, surpasses the critical t-table value of 2.00. Consequently, the hypothesis of the research is accepted, affirming that the implementation of the Presentation Practice Production method is effective in improving the speaking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Sigi.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of implementing digital-based projects in improving students' public speaking skills as da'wah content creators. A digital-based project approach was adopted to explore students' potential in public speaking with creativity and effectiveness in the context of delivering da'wah messages. Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of the scanning technique in improving reading comprehension of recount texts among eighth-grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Hasanah Pengawu. The primary objective was to determine whether the scanning technique enhanced students' ability to comprehend recount texts. A quantitative approach was adopted, utilizing a quasi-experimental design. The research involved 35 eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling based on specific criteria, with class VIIIB assigned as the experimental group and class VIIIA as the control group. Before the intervention, students struggled with understanding recount texts. However, after the experimental group received treatment using the scanning technique, their performance improved significantly, as evidenced by an increase in their average scores from 45.33 in the pre-test to 76.94 in the post-test. These findings indicated that the scanning technique was an effective method for enhancing reading comprehension of recount texts in this context.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan limbah organik sebagai sumber energi alternatif menjadi solusi yang penting dalam menghadapi permasalahan limbah dan ketergantungan terhadap bahan bakar fosil. Desa Cot Mesjid, Kecamatan Sukamakmur, Aceh Besar, memiliki potensi besar dalam pengelolaan sampah organik yang dapat diolah menjadi biobriket sebagai sumber bahan bakar alternatif. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi limbah organik, memberikan pelatihan pembuatan biobriket, serta menganalisis manfaat lingkungan dan ekonomi dari pemanfaatan biobriket. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tahapan sosialisasi, identifikasi bahan baku, pelatihan produksi biobriket, serta monitoring dan evaluasi efektivitas penggunaan biobriket. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan pendekatan praktik langsung, melibatkan masyarakat dalam setiap tahap produksi mulai dari pengumpulan bahan baku, proses pirolisis, penghalusan arang, pencampuran dengan bahan perekat, pencetakan, hingga pengeringan biobriket. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan angket kepada peserta pelatihan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat merespons positif program ini, dengan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai pemanfaatan limbah organik dan kemampuan produksi biobriket secara mandiri. Selain itu, biobriket yang dihasilkan memiliki efisiensi pembakaran yang tinggi dan dapat mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap bahan bakar fosil. Potensi pengembangan usaha biobriket juga terlihat dari minat beberapa kelompok masyarakat dalam memasarkan produk ini secara lokal. Dengan hasil yang positif, program ini dapat menjadi model bagi daerah lain dalam mengembangkan pemanfaatan limbah organik sebagai sumber energi alternatif yang ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan.
