Abstract

Geographic learning in Senior High School is less motivating, because there is no proper learning media. The learners need appropriate learning media especially on the material dynamics of population in Indonesia. One of the appropriate learning media is Geography Critical Game learning media based computer. The learning media is needed to study the effectiviness of learning in geography, so that students are motivated to learn geography. This research conducted by product test, then presented in descriptive technique. Based on test result, it can be concluded that Geography Critical Game learning media based computer is effective and able to be used in geographic learning for Senior High School.

Abstract

The research aims to explore the conceptual understanding of Newtons law using Experiential Learning model. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted on 32 students of SMAN 1 Kejayan use 3 essay test of conceptual understanding. Data analysis by analyzing the result of pretest-posttest answer of students then categorized at conceptual understanding level. The results of the answer analysis along with the conceptual understanding level of the students 'pretest-posttest concepts show that the conceptual understanding of Newton's students' legal concept increases after using the Experiential Learning.

Abstract

This research aimed at describing originality of mathematics problem design. Data were obtained from Desain Masalah Matematika who posed by 25 students. Research subjects were taken based on students who could develop their ideas through the task sheet. Furthermore, data is analyzed into three levels of originality (LO), that is high (modification of information, problem content is same/different, and mathematics concept is different), moderate (modification of information, problem content is different, and mathematics concept is same), and low (modification of information, problem content is same, and mathematics concept is same). The result is 9 students including high LO, 12 students including moderate LO, and 4 students including low LO.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model on the science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of natural science in 4th grade of elementary school. Quasi experiments were used in the study with a pretest-posttest design control group. Science process skills hypothesis test and cognitive learning outcomes of natural science using ANACOVA. The results showed that (1) there is the effect of application of guided inquiry learning model on Keterampilan Proses Sains with sig <0.05 and (2) there is the effect of application of guided inquiry learning model on cognitive learning outcomes of natural science with sig <0.05.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students understanding related to work, heat and internal energy that is represented in P-V diagrams. Subjects consisted of 103 students who are undergraduate physics education, undergraduate physics and graduate physics education students at State University of Malang. The results show that students tend to interpret work as the state quantities and interpret internal energy and heat as process quantities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of problem solving ability of student and student mental model on static fluid material. Different student problem solving skills can be seen from the way students represent problem solving. The mental model represents the knowledge created during cognitive activity. This research uses embedded mixed design. The subjects of this study consisted of 30 students of grade XI SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Batu. During the learning of students given the treatment of experiential learning model of Learning. Result of analysis shows Chi-Square test value obtained by 216,500a with Asymp value (2-tailed) equal to 0,041 indicating that there is correlation between problem solving ability and mental model of student.

Abstract

The pupose of this research is to describe the thinking barriers of high school students in solving angle problems in the three dimensions. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data obtained from student tes result in solving problems, interviews and scaffolding. Subjects in this study are high school students who have learned abaut the angle between the line with the plane in the three dimensions. The results showed that subjects 1 (S1) and subject 2 (S2) experienced obstacles in solving angle problems in the three dimensions. High-ability student thinking barriers occur at the stage of devising a plan implementing a carrying out plan and looking back due to lack of initial knowledge, lack of student analogy skills, and lack of connection ability students. While the low-ability student thinking impediment occurs in the stage of drafting a devising plan which continues in the step of carrying out the plan and looking back.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of conceptual scaffolding on Problem Based Learning toward problem solving skills. This research uses nonequivalent control group design with 32 students experimental class and 30 students control class. The test used consisted of a pretest of 13 multiple choice questions with a reliability value of 0.827 and a posttest of 10 essay questions with a reliability value of 0.615. The research hypothesis was tested using ANCOVA and indicate that conceptual scaffolding on PBL given effect to problem solving skills of 67,1% and experimental class average higher than control class. This indicate that there’s effect of conceptual scaffolding on PBL toward problem solving skills. So it’s recommended that conceptual scaffolding on PBL be applied to other physics concepts.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of learning model RICOSRE (Reading, Identifying Problem, Constructing Solution, Solving Problem, Reviewing Problem Solving, and Extending Problem Solving) toward XIth grade students’ Biology cognitive learning outcomes in SMAN 4 and SMAN 10 Malang. This research type is a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design. The sample used is the students in two classes each schools. Data collected in the form of pretest score and postes score. Data analysis using ancova technique and continued with LSD test that showed RICOSRE learning model significantly influenced the XIth grade students' learning outcomes with a corrected average of cognitive learning outcomes achievement is 26.9%.
