Abstract

The organizational learning culture is crucial for enhancing overall performance and fostering employee engagement. By promoting a culture of learning, organizations can generate positive emotions among employees, which helps build resilience. However, abusive supervision from management can undermine this resilience, decreasing employee involvement in their work. This study focuses on the impact of organizational learning culture on work engagement, exploring how this relationship is influenced by abusive supervision and mediated by employee resilience. Data were collected from 206 employees across various public and private sectors in Indonesia. The research hypothesis was tested using models 4 and 7 from the Hayes macro-PROCESS. The results indicate a strong positive impact of organizational learning culture (β = .6; p < .001), with employee resilience serving as a mediator in this relationship (β = .16; 95% CI = [.08, .24]). Additionally, abusive supervision weakens the mediation effect (β = -.04; 95% CI = [-.111, -.002]). These findings hold significant implications for managers and HR professionals, emphasizing the importance of cultivating an organizational learning culture to enhance employee resilience, better equip employees to navigate competitive markets and maintain high levels of employee engagement.

Abstract

Early marriage is linked to high stress due to the developmental immaturity of young couples, which hinders conflict resolution and future planning. This often leads to divorce and, when combined with parenting stress, may increase the risk of domestic violence and child abuse. The Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A) of Central Sulawesi Province in 2023 recorded 144 cases of violence against women and children. This study aims to determine the Family Quality Index (FQI) in early married couples and analyze the effect of individual resilience on family resilience, by predicting it through parenting stress. This type of research is a quantitative analytic survey with SEMPLS analysis. The research sample was 210 early married couples who have children, who directly care for children, selected using probability proportionate size technique. The results of the Family Quality Index research of early marriage couples show that the quality dimension of structural legality is in the very high category, the socio-cultural quality dimension is in the medium category, while the dimensions of physical, economic and socio-psychological resilience are in the very low category, while the results of SEMPLS analysis show that there is a positive and significant effect of husband's resilience and wife's resilience on parenting stress, as well as parenting stress on family resilience, but there is no positive and significant effect of husband's resilience or wife's resilience on family resilience. These results suggest that the relationship between individual resilience and family resilience is fully mediated by parenting stress. The family resilience model shows valid and reliable results and a fit model. Conclusions: The findings confirm the important role of parenting stress as a mediator in the relationship between individual resilience and family resilience in early marriage couples. The model developed is not only valid and reliable, but can also be the basis for family-based interventions. The urgency of strengthening integrated premarital counseling services for adolescents to improve parenting role readiness and prevent the risk of family violence is emphasized.

Abstract

Globalization and socio-economic changes have led to an increase in the number of dual-earner families. Jobs that were previously dominated by men are now increasingly being done by women, making the phenomenon of women working commonplace. However, this condition often leads to work-family conflict due to the imbalance of roles at work and home. Family work conflict is an imbalance between work and family that refers to how the relationship between work and family is mutually disrupted. This study analyzes the influence of economic pressure, husband-wife interaction, and family resilience on work conflict in dual-earner families. The research used a quantitative method with an explanatory study design, involving direct interviews with 103 working wives, who were selected by purposive sampling in two places in West Bogor Sub-district, Pasir Jaya Village and Gunung Batu Village. Data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS, while the influence between variables was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings show that economic pressure significantly influences work conflict, where higher pressure increases conflict intensity. In contrast, good husband-wife interaction and high family resilience were shown to reduce work-family conflict effectively. Based on the research, dual-earner families are advised to improve time management, set priorities, and maintain regular communication to strengthen family harmony and resilience.

Abstract

Pets play a significant role in their owners' lives. Psychological studies have found that pet loss is one of the contributing factors to depression. The grieving response experienced by pet owners following the loss of their pets is referred to as pet bereavement. This study aims to examine the influence of pet attachment, self-compassion, and social constraint on pet bereavement. This research employs a quantitative approach with a sample of 250 individuals who have experienced pet loss and reside in Indonesia. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling. The Pet Bereavement Questionnaire (PBQ) developed by Hunt & Padilla (2006) was used to measure pet bereavement, the Lexington Attachment to Pet Scale (LAPS) developed by Johnson et al. (1992) was used to assess pet attachment. Self-compassion was measured using the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) developed by Neff (2003), and social constraint was assessed using the Social Constraint Scale developed by Lepore et al. (1996). Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The regression test results showed an R-squared value of .727, indicating that pet attachment, self-compassion, and social constraint significantly influence pet bereavement, accounting for 72.7% of the variance. The significance test results revealed that three variables had a significant impact on pet bereavement: general attachment (p < .05), people substituting (p < .05), and gender (p < .05). Based on these findings, it is recommended that pet owners develop a healthy attachment to their pets and engage with animal lover communities to receive social support during times of loss.
