Abstract

The lack of records about the involvement and contribution of women in Sufism texts cannot be used as an excuse that women have a small role and position in the development and dissemination of Sufism teachings, doctrines, and practices. Of the two female Sufi names, namely Rabi’ah and Aishah al-Ba’uniyyah, two big names prove that women have equal opportunities in achieving spiritual knowledge. Therefore, the writer is interested in female Sufis, especially in Western countries, where so far, many writers have focused on female Sufis in the eastern world, therefore it is very interesting to study female Sufis in the Western world and to answer questions. about; Aren’t their women in the world of Sufism? Is it true that the world of Sufism belongs entirely to men only? This paper is a paper using a qualitative descriptive approach. The author uses a literature review with the data sources used in this paper are secondary data originating from the literature such as books, journals, articles, and various sources relevant to the theme of the discussion in this paper. The results of the study describe female Sufis, namely Hajjah Amina Adil and Hajjah Naziha Adil with their organization called HNCO (Hajjah Naziha Charitable Organization) engaged in philanthropy. Then another female Sufi is Nahid Angha who is known as one of the founders of the International Sufi Woman Organization, a world Sufi women’s organization. This organization is concerned with peace programs and women’s empowerment.

Abstract

Gender equality and justice has placed women in thoughts, behaviors, and decisions that are no longer limited by the patriarchal system. However, in the midst of women’s efforts to build justice, instead of fighting for and upholding the role of women, the phenomenon of disputes and interactions between women themselves is increasingly striking and so prevalent on social media and the reality of life in modern Indonesia. This unbalanced relationship then has an impact as happened in Gender-Based Violence (KBG). No doubt, this action is the same as reinforcing injustice to women. Therefore, this study aims to determine the forms of injustice perpetrated by the same sex, especially women against women based on the five social experiences of women and KBG. This study uses descriptive-qualitative methods and data collection techniques through questionnaires and literature study. Data obtained from the results of questionnaires filled out by 54 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique. While the data analysis techniques in this study are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of the study indicate that violence against women has the potential to be carried out by fellow women. In addition, the forms of violence that are often experienced by women from female KBG perpetrators are psychological violence, in the form of: body shaming, talkative in the form of belittling and demeaning in terms of education, work, and married life. Meanwhile, in terms of five social experiences, women are more likely to receive stigmatization, subordination and marginalization.

Abstract

Fathul Qorib is the main reference for Islamic law studies in Indonesian Islamic boarding schools (Pesantren) because this book has a historical scientific heritage from the classical period of Islam. Indonesian Pesantrens have different characteristics in reading and learning Fathul Qorib based on conditions that develop and occur in the surrounding area. This paper uses the observation method by observing and interviewing students, ustadz/teachers, and kiai to trace patterns of knowledge transmission. The object of this research is Pesantren YAPINK and Attaqwa located in Bekasi district with two different types of Pesantren in terms of religious ideological background and the early history of the establishment of the Islamic boarding school. From the results of the research conducted, the reading of Fathul Qorib at the Pesantren YAPINK and Attaqwa has similarities and differences. The transmission of knowledge at YAPINK comes from internal and external sources because the teachers of the Fathul Qorib are graduated of YAPINK and other Pesantren such as Ploso Kediri and Sarang, while Attaqwa comes from internal-only because all Fathul Qorib teachers are from Attaqwa graduated.

Abstract

This paper discusses multiculturalism as a crucial concept to counter extremism. The perspective used is the Islamic perspective, with the thesis that diversity is a necessity of God, so that Islam, through the Qur’an, guides human beings regarding ways of living with multicultural principles. At the same time, while some circles want a monocultural order, which is manifested by the proliferation of extremism in the name of Islam, it is as if in the Qur’an there are two contradictory teachings about plurality and how to respond to it. Based on the studies that have been carried out, this paper finds that multiculturalism is a moral-ideal of the Qur'an, while extremism is an ideological doctrine based on the interpretation of the Qur'an itself. Thus, deep multiculturalism can become a counter-narrative of extremism.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the problem of the perception of Ibn Sīnā and John Locke as an activity of knowing which is an epistemological study in philosophy. Perception therefore, is a process and a certain way to gain knowledge. The problem with this research is that as a philosopher who affirms the important role of perception, he does not necessarily become an empiricist. Or the same concern does not have direct implications for the interest of empiricism. This study uses a comparative method as its approach which aims to obtain similarities and differences regarding the concepts of the two philosophers. The findings of this study are that Ibn Sīnā has instruments for empirical research but is not an adherent of empiricism. While John Locke has the same instrument, which empirical based but as an empiricist

Abstract

The present paper is a study of Tabyin al-Kalām, especially in relation to the notion of taḥrīf. Some scholars, like Bruce B. Lawrence, believe that Ahmad Khar’s thought was not original, and depended heavily on al-Tafsīr al-Kabir of Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī (d. 1209). In order to assess this assumption, the paper will also compare Tabyin al-Kalām with al-Tafsīr al-Kabir.

Abstract

The discussion of qira'at is one of the most fundamental studies in Ulūm al-Qur’ān. This is closely related to various factors that can lead to various issues. The method of recitation is also considered as one of the proofs of the authenticity of the Qur’an. The fact proves that through authentic and even mutawatir narrations, the qira’at imams teach it meticulously and directly (musyafahah). Furthermore, in its implications, differences in recitation methods may lead to discrepancies in determining the legal rulings contained within a verse. Such biases may also occur in other aspects of Islamic teachings, such as creed, ethics, and others.

Al-Zamakhsari’s description of the Qur’anic exegesis is not only revealing the meaning contained in Al-Qur’an, but also, he disclosed the secrets of the i’jaz of al-Qur’an. Abstract

Tafsir, as an Islamic hermeneutics, holds a significant position in understanding and applying the sacred text of the Qur'an. This study aims to investigate the theoretical and practical aspects of tafsir as an interpretive method within the Islamic tradition. Through an approach of textual and contextual analysis, this research explores various tafsir approaches used in Islamic history and their application in contemporary contexts. The role of tafsir as Islamic hermeneutics lies not only in understanding the meaning of the Qur'anic text but also in connecting it with social, cultural, and political realities. This research also explores the relevance and challenges faced in applying Islamic hermeneutics in contemporary contexts. Through this in-depth analysis, it is hoped to gain a better understanding of the role of tafsir in enriching religious understanding and guiding religious practices in contemporary Islamic society.
